Hockey legend Devin Garrison thought he blew his shot. But his relationship with Callie Caplan just went into overtime. Sexy, rich, and one of the biggest stars in the NHL, Devin Garrison has always been the one who had it all. That is until his marriage falls apart and he realizes he has to start over. If he’s honest, there has only been one woman who ever really excited him-Callie Caplan. They … him-Callie Caplan. They shared a night that was hotter than the late-summer sun, but in an instant-Callie was gone, pretending it never happened.
Callie Caplan isn’t the wild child people think she is. It’s true she’s avoided relationships, but only because she’s seen how crazy love can be. And her messy, imperfect life is crazy enough without opening her heart to a man-even one as picture perfect as Devin. But when fate brings them back together-just as they need each other most-Devin is determined to convince Callie that what she’s feeling is real. And this final play may be their chance at forever . . .

OMG, this book was so good. I need to go back and read the rest of the entire series as soon as possible. I LOVED Devin and Callie…so good together…and dang, they were hot!
**4.5**
The Garrison boys and Luc are back and they didn’t disappoint once again. I was so excited to read this book. The chemistry with Luc and Rose could be felt in book 1, so knowing this book was Luc’s had me hoping Rose would be his love interest and boy am I happy with how this book started and ended.
Rose, the youngest of the Caplan sisters, is a romantic at heart. I love Rose’s character, she’s different than her sisters Jessie and Callie, yet she is like them in other ways too. Knowing she has always been in love with Luc, yet he sees her as just a friend, she gets some advice from Callie and man does the story begin!
Luc, oh sweet Candian Luc. After a disastrous old relationship, his hockey career is on the line unless he can shape up. Going home he figured he was safe, his best friend, Rose, is there and he knows he is safe with her. What he doesn’t expect was to fall for her. Luc screwed up many times but he also did many things right, which makes me my favorite at the moment. He isn’t perfect but, he never stopped fighting for what he wanted once he knew what that was.
I loved Luc and Rose’s story. Friends to lovers, their story was written perfectly for them. I can’t wait for book 3, The Final Move.
Callie Caplan has always kept a fine line drawn between love and her relationships with men, in her eyes the two are never to mix with one another. She is strictly a one night kind of girl, she doesn’t do emotions or repeats, and never ever spends the night with someone who could possibly be relationship material. After watching her father leave her mother when she was young, she decided early on that she never wanted to be that woman, the one left shattered and alone by the man she gave her heart to, so she devised a fool proof plan for dealing with men, keep them strictly on a one night basis, and never let them close enough to break her heart. And surprisingly her little system has worked like a charm…that is until she moves in her with her gorgeous childhood friend Devin. His wife has left him, and he is struggling to survive the loss of his marriage, and Callie can’t bare to see him so lost, so she steps in to get him back on track, and in doing so finds herself ever so slightly crossing her strategically placed line…
Devin Garrison thought he had it all, and was quite proud of being able to manage a successful hockey career and a family, but things weren’t going quite as well as he thought, his wife is unhappy with their life and wants him to leave. So he moves out to give her space, but it is killing him to know that he failed her and their son, that all that he was doing for their well being, just wasn’t enough, and not exactly the lifestyle his wife had envisioned for them. He is crushed and on a downward spiral, which has him doing things that are totally out of his character, and immediately catches the eye of his childhood best friend Callie. With Callie new in town, and without a place to live, he offers her a place to stay, thinking it will be nice to share all the empty space of his new home with someone, and nice to have a friendly face to come home too. But soon after she moves in, he starts to look at her in a whole new light, and begins to wonder what a life with her would be like, but realizes that it’d never work because Callie just doesn’t do relationships…
From the moment I started this book, I knew I had discovered something truly special, I was barely three sentences into the story and I immediately felt a connection to the characters, and felt myself being pulled into Callie and Devin’s world. I was pleasantly surprised by how much their words effected me, each one was uttered with so much passion and intensity, and I could literally feel the intended power behind every one of them. This is by far one of the most memorable and highly impressive first reads that I have ever had the pleasure of reading, and I think it is safe to say that Ms. Denault is not only a truly gifted storyteller, but also has a bestseller on her hands with this one!
If you have not had the opportunity to acquaint yourself with the Garrison Brothers I must first tell you that you are missing out on some exceptional reading, but also missing out on meeting some truly remarkable men!!
