I am kicking myself! This book has been on my kindle for over a year and I somehow didn’t read it until two days ago! This series is one of the best I have ever read and this book is just the cherry on top! I love that we finally got Braeden’s story as tragically heartbreaking as it was at times! I love that the author didn’t shy away from the hard parts. She nailed the emotions and actions of the characters. Each painful moment, each heartwrenching scene, each beautiful word spoken were true and honest and straight from the heart. JB Salsbury brings her characters to life, they feel like family and that is what continues to bring me back to read these books over and over again.
This is a series that I will always keep close to my heart! All the characters are so lovable and memorable. AJ and Braedan were exactly the same! Brae is Blake’s brother and a marine! When he comes to Vegas he meets AJ at a hotel bar and the hit it off straight away. The chemistry is always on point with her couples and The Final Fight had that same chemistry. I really loved AJ’s character, it was written beautifully and I really just connected with her. I loved how driven and focused she was, to me she made some really good choices which I didn’t think she would do. I actually thought I wouldn’t like them but it was the opposite. Brae was held down by AJ she was his ride her die even when there was moments when a lesser women would have given up. Totally would recommend this book to anyone!!!
I’m so sad this series has ended! This was a very emotional story as all of the Fighting books have been. Braeden and A.J. both go through so much after their initial meeting and their journey back to each other is very rough. They started out not wanting love in their lives at the time but ended up being saved by the love they couldn’t stop or deny. My hope is that J.B. Salsbury changes her mind and writes more stories with this group of people.

The Final Fight was the eighth book in the Fighting series by JB Salsbury. I may now have a new favorite book in the series.
Braeden Daniels was the brother to Blake Daniels, book two, Fighting to Forgive. I loved how it started, Braeden was rebellious within the confines of his dad, the General’s, rule. “Yes sir and No sir” as expected, but then he paved his own way. Totally confident alpha. And then it just got better, I fell in love immediately.
AJ was a Las Vegas performer as well as holding a couple other jobs to make ends meet. She grew up poor but learned how to survive. Her goal was financial success – she had her goals, she wasn’t afraid to work for it and she wanted it all.
Braeden and AJ met as they were both married to their jobs. They had off the charts chemistry but understood the challenges of trying to make something work. It wouldn’t work and they knew it so they spent time together when they could and left it at that.
Salsbury weaved an emotional tale. It began as fun and lighthearted and then progressed into heartbreak with enormous obstacles for embracing their dreams. Salsbury also addressed the impact and affects of war.
Additionally, the characters that we’ve come to love in the series were front and center as supporting cast. I loved the bonding, family and loyalty that they represented.
In the end, it was well written, well developed, emotional, entertaining, a page turner and a worthy read. I can’t believe I read it in one sitting. Bring on the next one, Deacon now needs his story told…

The Fighting series by J.B. Salsbury is one of my favorites and has a special place in my heart. I read the first book four years ago, and have been a fan of the author ever since. It was bittersweet when I heard that this book would be the last one in the series. I have been through so much with the characters and I love them. I loved that they all were present in this book, it made me want to reread all their stories. Let me stop reminiscing and get back to The Final Fight. This book is about Marine Braeden Daniels, who is Blake Daniels’ (main character in the second book: Fighting to Forgive) younger brother. His love interest is AJ, who is an acrobatic performer in Las Vegas. I really enjoyed how they met and their chemistry together. Both are married to their jobs and don’t really have time for a committed relationship. I liked that there was no miscommunication about that. They were both upfront with how things would go down, and I really appreciate that. Of course eventually feelings come into play, and decisions have to be made.
Even though I enjoyed this book, it wasn’t my favorite. I don’t know why, but it was a bit difficult for me to connect to AJ and Braeden. I liked AJ more than I did Braeden, even though he was such a nice guy. He made some decisions and acted in a way that I didn’t support. There was even a moment that I was hoping that they didn’t end up together. Thankfully, the author managed to convince me that these two belonged together. I just wanted these two to spend more time together, and really grow as a couple. I think that was what I was missing the most in this book. Overall, The Final Fight was a solid contemporary romance with interesting characters. There was one side character, who I hope will get his own book, because I am kind of in love with him.
Marine Braeden Daniels is on a weekend visit to Las Vegas to visit his brother and enjoy some R&R while he awaits his next posting, when he meets AJ a Las Vegas performer and they hook up for a night of fun with no strings attached until Braeden leaves on a six month tour overseas. Braeden Tells AJ to get on with her life without him and follow her dream because he has no idea what their future will hold, only neither of them were prepared for how strong their the chemistry and emotional feelings sparked between them causing an unfortunate set of events to keep them apart. Can they get over the obstacles of fate that are keeping them apart from each other? I have read every book in this series and have enjoyed them all and I loved this one. The characters are so lovable and engaging and the story line was a very emotional roller coaster of a ride. A second chance at love that you truly want to see succeed along with some sizzling hot sex, this book is a winner.
The last book of the series takes us out of the fighting ring and into fighting for our country. Braeden Daniels is a Marine dedicated to serving his country and plans to do so for a long time. Braeden is the brother of Blake Daniels from book 2 of the series. They were raised by a strict career military father. Blake defied his father wishes and went a completely different route with his life – having nothing to do with the military. Braeden also defied his father by not becoming an officer but a man who fought on the front lines.
This is his story of meeting a woman while he is on leave and struggling with his fascination with her while also knowing he cant give her a what she deserves in a relationship as he is deployed all the time.
AJ (Adeline) has never had much in her life. She moves to Vegas with dreams and aspirations to be a headliner in an acrobat show. She becomes torn between two men. One fascinates her and turns her on but with him being in the military he is not around much. The other is her boss who gives her the break she has always wanted – headlining in one of Vegas hotels premier shows, Eros. He also gives her lavish gifts and treats her like a lady – something she has always wanted.
One thing you can count on in this series is there is going to be some heartbreak. Two people who had their lives planned out since they were young suddenly have to face new realities when tragedy strikes them both which alters the course of their futures. So the question becomes will they now fight for their futures together or apart.
Great epilogue that wraps up everything and starts a new beginning.. I have enjoyed this series from the start and happy with the way it’s ending.
