Amelia “Amy” DeVries, a 24-year-old violinist, is disillusioned with life and love after the collapse of her long-running romance. Weary of endless rehearsals and performances, Amy sets out on a road trip through the Pennsylvania mountains. She leaves her cell phone behind so life’s demands can’t intrude on her solitude. She doesn’t know, nor care, where she will end up.
When her car breaks down … breaks down deep in the mountains, Amy realizes the flaw in her “no cell phone” plan. She abandons her car and walks the winding roads, searching for help. Following the smell of woodsmoke and the sound of music, she finds a rustic log cabin. There she meets a young Amishman — and through him a community — that will change her life forever.

It’s a good book but slow to get started with the story
Anything Beverly Lewis writes is wonderful.
Well written enjoyable read.
Beverly Lewis is always a good read.
Another Beverly Lewis winner!
Loved it!
Good story line; interesting and worth the time.
I enjoyed this book and the characters were wonderful. It was interesting to read about a talented violinist. The Amish characters were well-developed too. I especially liked the happy ending.
I have always enjoyed Beverly Lewis’ books and I have a hard time putting them down. She is a excellent author!
We all want to be loved for who we are. When our love for our families make us be someone else than ourselves, the choice becomes unbearable. The love of God is that perfect love, that unconditional love we all look for that only He can give. The Fiddler shows us that that is more than enough. Love of God, love of family, love of self…
The Fiddler is another in one of Beverly Lewis’s Amish Series, and truly, this was one of my absolute favorites that she has written. The juxtaposition of English-Amish cultures, and the interest in each other’s cultures creates both conflict, possible romance (of the most chaste kind), predicaments and makes you really want to read the next book …
Easy to read. Enjoyed this book.
To me these are the best book’ To read love them
I love Beverly Lewis books. I’ve read them all! I know when I see that she’s the author, it will be a great read. It’s been interesting and enlightening to learn of the Amish way of life. I always get hungry when she describes the food and appreciate the recipes she sometimes includes
I love any book Beverly Lewis writes.
This is my favorite Beverly Lewis book. It’s wonderful story, complete in itself. Parents expectations are good up to a certain point, but each adult must pave their own way in life to truly be happy. I plan to read this one again.
I loved it. So inspiring, heartwarming. I sure wish I knew Mrs. Ema Mae.
As a musician, romantic sentimentalis and Christian, I loved this book which was a blend of romance and finding-your-calling story. The Fiddler is a gifted young violinist / fiddler trying to decide whether to honor her family’s wishes or to follow her heart in how to use her God-given talent. In addition, her new friend and she both are trying to …
