If Stefanie London was a baseball player, she’d be the designated batter, because she always hits it out of the park. The Fiancé is no exception.
Strong, smart, sassy heroine. Check. Wounded, commitment-phob hero. Check. Smoking hot love scenes. Check. A fun, fabulously written tale that brings it all together to create a memorable love story. Double check.
The Fiancé is more than a story of instalust, or even a romance. It’s about two people that are both stuck in bad situations, with life throwing them one curveball after another, and how when they stand together, they are strong enough to fight back and win. It’s about family issues (the good and the bad…totally love grandma), trust, jealousy, standing your ground and knowing when to give in.
The fiancé was a fun, flirty, smoking hot, and heart-warming read from the first to the last page.
Intense emotions and steaming hot chemistry had me from the start! Book four in Stefanie London’s Close Quarters series was quick to snag my attention with unexpected family drama for the hero and humorous byplay with the heroine. This series has been a lot of fun and I’m looking forward to more to come!
Daniel was easy to sympathize with and a pleasure to get to know as he let his softer side show with Ava.
Ava was a delight. She hasn’t had things go her way all that much recently, but she keeps her sense of humor and doesn’t let the world get her down.
I highly recommend this book and the entire series to anyone who loves a steamy romance with lots of heart and a close knit group of friends who interfere, support and love hard.
This is book 4 in the Close Quarters series and I think it’s the steamiest of them all.
It’s one the the best fake relationship romances I’ve read in quite some time. Daniel is a stuffy CEO with more family baggage than anyone should have to deal with. Ava is a down on her luck teacher with her own suitcase full of family drama.
As they pretend to be engaged, the baggage gets heavier and drags them down. Daniel has to do some serious soul searching to realize that the past can mold us but it shouldn’t define us.
4 1/2 stars for The Fiancé (book 4 Close Quarters series), This is what I’ve come to expect from Ms. London and her dare series entries, sexy, humorous, and spicy lets me get lost in her words for a little bit.
Ava, poor Ava, if she didn’t have bad luck she’d have no luck. Trying to get a job as a teacher hasn’t worked out so far so she has been working for a catering company at night. She is about to lose her apartment and nothing is within her budget. Oh yea, then she gets caught up with Daniel in a confusing situation and is afraid she will lose her job.
Daniel has an interesting deal for Ava, will she go for it though? Ava is a such a sweetheart but can’t catch a break. That is why Daniel thinks this fake relationship will benefit them both. The fake becomes all-too-real though almost immediately because of the irresistible pull between Ava and Daniel. Their chemistry is off the charts steamy and sexy.
As with any book by the author, I can’t recommend this one enough. Pick up your copy today and dive into pure, sexy romance.
Sexy, fun fake engagement story! Daniel is trying to disseminate the rumors. Ava is struggling to make ends meet. Broom closet meet-cute, wham! Fake engagement! After moving, travel, and some heat, they find a way to get to the HEA. Daniel needed to grovel more, but it was a great story.
Stefanie London takes the fake fiancé trope and adds lots of heat. This was a great addition to the Close Quarters series. Ava and Daniel were both interesting characters that were fun to get know. And watching them navigate their relationship made for a great read. I’ve been a fan of London’s books for some time, and I love her writing style. She draws you in and makes you care about the characters. This could have been just another cliched version of the fake fiancé trope, but London manages to make it feel fresh and fun. And sexy. Can’t forget sexy! I definitely recommend this book, and also recommend checking out the rest of Stefanie London’s work if you haven’t already.
A fun, sexy and heartwarming story. I was captivated from the beginning. I love the characters. I loved the banter and sparks. It’s an entertaining read and will leave you smiling.
Ava Matthews has run into a string of bad luck. She’s recently found out the apartment she’s been living in and has a deal worked out with the owner for rent, is being sold. She’s also a teacher without a permanent class. When she’s caught in a compromising position in the storage closet during a catering gig, she’s in jeopardy of losing the last paying job she has. Ava KNOWS she can’t move back in with her mom, so she agrees to become the fiancé to Daniel Moretti—billionaire CEO.
Daniel Moretti grew up with a cheating father and a neglectful mother. Daniel was very protective of his brother and vowed to never make the same mistakes his parents made. When his brother accuses him of cheating with his wife, Daniel is blindsided. He would NEVER betray his brother like that. After having words at a benefit, Daniel goes off to the storage closet for peace and quiet so he can practice his speech, never seeing Ava until it’s too late. Daniel devises a plan to help Ava if she’d help him by becoming his fake fiancé believing his brother will finally believe he’s not a cheater.
Holy smokes!!! Loved Ava SOOOO much! I loved her snarky personality, her mom and grandmother, her kindness, and her strength. I loved that she stood her ground, never settling for less. Ava knew she deserved more and as much as it hurt to walk away…she deserved MORE. I also loved that Ava was normal, not a model or fashionista. It makes the story more believable. I loved that Daniel was able to learn from his parent’s past mistakes and admit his flaws. Great story and couple! Highly recommended. I read a gifted copy and all opinions stated are my own.
Loved this intense book! From the very beginning of Ava’s and Daniels meeting – it was a whirlwind and the more i read it- the more I enjoyed it! A quick page turner – this book doesn’t disappoint in chemistry and heated scenes!!
This is my first book in the series, and I enjoyed Ava and Daniel’s story!
A fake relationship between two people from different worlds, and it became more and more real as they spent time together. They had a lot of chemistry and it was fun to watch them fall in love. The story has drama but isn’t unnecessarily angsty and the plot is well paced. Stefanie London is a great storyteller and I was drawn in as I read and didn’t want to put the book down.
Thank you to the author for providing an ARC for an honest review.
Wow, a fake engagement becoming so very steamy…I loved reading this book!At first I thought- how would these two so completely different people meet and concoct a fake engagement so very quickly? I began to read and read and couldn’t put it down. I loved how the story developed- she is a person who feel very deeply and is not afraid to show it, while he is a very rational man whose hormones and to his surprise his feelings, get in conflict with his ratio. All-in all this is a very compelling story wherein after heartbreak and insight in ones feelings, still a happy ever after exists.

Moving in to Daniel’s luxurious loft puts them in close quarters. And it’s not long before they’re saying yes
Ava and Daniel’s fake relationship in The Fiance’ by Stefanie London, book four in her Close Quarters series, gave them the perfect solution for a struggling teacher and a scandal-ridden CEO. Ava is a barely employed, soon to be homeless teacher/waitress whose mother is always bringing around guys she thinks Ava should marry. Ava is determined to find a man whose love makes her hotter than a Melbourne summer night, not any old creep. Accidently getting caught in a supply closet, mid-change of her spaghetti-sauce-stained catering uniform with CEO Daniel Moretti, was not going to help improve her awful day; or would it? Daniel can’t risk another scandalous rumor, and while sensing a shared chemistry, proposes a deal to Ava; if she agreed to become his fake fiancée, he would help her get back on her feet. Being in close quarters, Ava’s original request that they have a platonic relationship, soon gets lost within the passion and chemistry these two share. They are pulled together by their magnetic attraction and their passion soon burns up the sheets in Daniel’s loft. Daniel never, ever expected to fall in love or desire a true, loving relationship. Yet, somehow, Ava broke through the walls Daniel built to protect his heart and keep him from falling in love. Ending the relationship with Ava was one of the most difficult things Daniel had to do; he had already fallen under her spell and was wanting forever with her. Ava may finally have a teaching job that she loves, but being separated from Daniel was breaking her heart. There had to be a better way to handle this situation.
Ms. London wrote a wonderful, steamy, enjoyableand emotional story that is not to be missed. She provided a tale rich with sizzling chemistry, amusing banter, and endearing characters giving Ava and Daniel a chance at having a true and forever love. I highly recommend The Fiance’ to other readers.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
Meeting you was destiny, but falling in love with you, I had no control over…
A chance meeting that Ava and Daniel had, changed their lives. Ava has been having a tough time in her life right now. A mother who is trying to marry her off to any man with a pulse, she can’t find a job and she was forced out of her apartment.
Daniel answers all her prayers with an arrangement. He needs to figure out a plan that will convince his brother he did not have an affair with his wife. Ava and Daniel fake an engagement that will benefit them both. Ava will not have to worry about financial woes and Daniel can convince his brother he had nothing to do with his wife. It sounds like a perfect plan. Ava and Daniel are instantly attracted to each other and find it impossible to keep things professional. Ava has fallen fast and hard, but she is unsure how Daniel feels about their relationship.
This was a hot, steamy and sharp-witted story. I look forward to more stories like this from Stefanie London.
If you love a good fake relationship storyline then this book will not disappoint. I loved everything about the relationship between Ava and Daniel. The fact that Ava stood her own against Daniel’s alpha-ness was fantastic and their back and forth was hot. It definitely showed the chemistry and attraction between these two. And wow when that attraction was acted on… Be
prepared for some great bedroom(or not so bedroom) scenes.
I liked the reasons behind why Ava and Daniel decided on a fake relationship and the issues that is brought up between them. This storyline is a favorite of mine and this book was perfect. Definitely would recommend this book!
Smartly written! Daniel and Ava are in a a fake engagement. She is witty and spunky which is unlike his uptight and controlling personality. Being in close proximity will lead to blurring of the reality lines especially when family becomes involved. Two fun characters are Ava’s mom and grandma that provide some fun conversations.
If you are looking for a fun and steamy romance to warm you up this winter then look no further! I read this in one sitting it was so good!
Ava is a strong, curvy woman who is not afraid to voice her opinion and David is a very handsome man with a bit of family baggage but a big heart and good sense of family. There is steam, scandal, a hilarious grandma, and tender moments that make this a great read!
I received an ARC from the publisher and all thoughts and opinions are my own.
Ava Mathews is having a tough time. She is losing her rent controlled apartment, she can’t find a job as a teacher, so she has to sub and work catering jobs, and her mother keeps trying to marry her off to guys she is not attracted too. Daniel Moretti is CEO of his family’s company and is throwing a party for the launch of a new project. He is going through his own turmoil, the press is spreading rumors that he is sleeping with his brother’s wife and his brother believes it. Daniel ducks into a storage closet to get away from the press, and walks in on Ava while she is changing. Of course, after talking, he convinces Ava to act as his fiancé to throw off the press. This book has a lot of steam and really enjoyable protagonists. Overall an enjoyable read. I received an ARC of this book from the author for my honest opinion.
The Fiance is the fourth book in the Close Quarters Series but I read it as a stand-alone and felt like I did not miss anything. It was a short book so was easy to read in one sitting. The storyline of a fake engagement was developed, and the characters were charming and interesting.
Ava Matthews was a teacher who was struggling to find a permanent teaching position. She was barely getting by with substitute teaching and working as a waitress for a catering company. Ending up in a supply closet with Daniel Moretti was just the frosting on the cake to her day. When he suggests that she become his fake fiancé, she figures it would keep her mom from harassing her to marry her friend’s son and help her get back on her feet.
Daniel Moretti was CEO of the family’s business and rumors of him stealing his brother’s wife were going to hurt their company. Being found in the supply closet with a woman from the catering staff would hurt even more. So, he hopes telling the media they are engaged will help the rumors and improve his image. He is not looking for a relationship and doesn’t believe in love after watching his parent’s marriage while growing up. But can he remain unaffected by Ava and her charm?
The book was fast-paced, beautifully written, and funny. Ava was so genuine and cheerful it was hard not to cheer for her to get her happy ever after. Daniel had closed himself off to relationships because he didn’t want to risk getting hurt as his mother did, but Ava slowly chipped away at his barriers. I enjoyed reading this book and I look forward to future books from the author.
