BURNED
When MacKayla Lane’s sister is murdered, she leaves a single clue to her death—a cryptic message on Mac’s cell phone. Journeying to Ireland in search of answers, Mac is soon faced with an even greater challenge: staying alive long enough to master a power she had no idea she possessed—a gift that allows her to see beyond the world of man, into the dangerous realm of the Fae.
As Mac delves deeper into the mystery of her sister’s death, her every move is shadowed by the dark, mysterious Jericho, while at the same time, the ruthless V’lane—an immortal Fae who makes sex an addiction for human women—closes in on her. As the boundary between worlds begins to crumble, Mac’s true mission becomes clear: find the elusive Sinsar Dubh before someone else claims the all-powerful Dark Book—because whoever gets to it first holds nothing less than complete control of both worlds in their hands.

This series is one that just sings to me. From the jump, I love Mac forever. I remember actually being offput by the idea of sex fae, and resisted reading this book for a long time. Which is out of character for me, since I generally love some steamy steamies in a book. I’m not sure what it was that pushed me away. But I’m so glad I overcame it.
The story just explodes for me when she meets Barrons and keeps growing and snowballing with each installment. The villain grows and the universe expands in such exciting and unexpected ways, and always always always overshadowed by the question of Barrons and his motivations.
Some of the scenes have stayed with me years later. I especially love their interactions during book 4. And watching Mac grow into a force to be reckoned with is a true joy.
I love a book that makes me think, this one did.
Enter the world of Mackayla Lane and Jericho Barrons! This couple sizzles. In fact, all the characters (especially The Nine) are sexy as hell! The story is riveting and Mac’s character does grow on you, I promise! These are not your average fairies they are dealing with either. Some of them are beautiful beyond reason, and others are so repugnant you wouldn’t want to meet them in a dark alley. Get the entire series here and go from the beginning of Mac and Jericho’s story to Dani and Ryodan’s. These couples are so incendiary they will have you bursting into flames!
Best book series ever!
Fabulous series! I love the world Moning built & all of its characters, especially Barrons!
Can only hope for more!
I can’t help but think about this series on a daily basis. Moning has out-done herself. The characters are raw and real and the life lessons hit home. This romantic has found a foot-hole in the realm of fantasy and action. Can’t wait for the next book, High Voltage.
Another one of my favorites series. I loved the characters. I was always up late into the night unable to stop reading. My favorite character was Dani she was always so unpredictable.
Loved this series. Great characters, excellent story.
These are great books. You have to pay attention.
I loved this series
Absolute diamond(s)-in-rough*; my very essence is the better for immersing myself in, as of now, the 10-book Fever-series,.. eagerly awaiting ‘The Queen of Líght & Dark’ ….
Wow, what a great book. I’m not caught by much urban fantasy, but Darkfever bound me up from the first chapter. Subtle humor combined with an intricately woven world, well rounded characters and an engrossing mystery had me reading this book in one weekend. Loved Mac’s innocent spunk, and Barrons, well what is there not to love about him? The story involves some of the usual urban fantasy supernaturals but done with enough sparkle to make the who thing feel original. There are no cliffhangers but I am left with big questions that make me crave the second book. Biggest of all ‘What is Jericho Barrons’ our delectable hero . The author was too deliciously cruel to leave that question unanswered.
OMG! Talk about HOT! Ms. Moning Fever series has it all. The premise of the stories is new and highly creative. These are non- stop page-turning books filled with action, adventure, survival, the power of wills and determination, funny, sexy, steamy hot.
Moning and LKH ARE THE BEST FAE FANTASY WRITERS! I’ve read all the fever books 8 times!!!!
LOVE LOVE LOVE this whole series!
Could not put these books down.
Excellent Urban fantasy series mostly taking place in modern Dublin. Features the collision of the human world and the Fae world creating an apoplectic situation. The Heroine of the series was raised in America by adopted parents and is a typical southern party girl. Following her sisters murder in Dublin, she follows and meets a mysterious man who saves her life but users her as he finds that she has certain abilities. Her growth, their relationship and the issues with the Fae make for an engrossing series.. This are fairly dark books with heroes and villains who can sometime be either. Highly recommended.
Read her Highlander Series first had tested Fever Series followed on from there with some of the original characters threading through. Totally the most enthralling books I’ve ever read. Once started couldn’t put them down. Each book is complete in itself with only minor cliffhangers that keep you wanting to know what happens next I loved all the main characters and loved the definitely unusual happy endings. I so hope there will be a next one.
Very dark, starts out similar to her former work and then keeps getting darker.
