A fun mystery that I really enjoyed. Not only did the author keep me guessing with “who done-it” suspense, but also with likeable characters, and comedy. I liked the main character, Agatha (Aggie) too. Sax doesn’t come out and “tell” readers certain details, which for some might be maddening, but for me, this was part of the unfolding mystery. So, I don’t want to give too much away and spoil the tale for other readers. The characters were a hoot and I laughed out loud a lot. I could see them and hear their hilarious statements. Sax is talented with her ability to do this. This is my first time reading her work and I know I’ll read another of her books. I’m recommending this book, and all ready have, to friends and family.
Interesting characters and plot. Good entertainment.
Very cute story
I absolutely hated the main character.
it was the kind of half-assed world i’ve come to associate with california since i lived there in the early eighties. i really liked it then, and i was pleasantly reminded of it reading this book. since i lived in northern california, and this takes place in southern, i think maybe california vibrates at a rate that changes the workings of the human brain. sly stallone’s mom used to live in town and was a psychic who would put flyers under everybody windshield. and that was just one of its many attractions. so i really liked the stinky mexican garbage and how everybody just rolled with it.
I enjoyed the book, but have to say that I would have liked more development
of the characters. If the background story of the main characters had been developed more fully in the beginning of the story, I would have liked it better.
This book was so fun! It’s like a Psych episode in some ways because the murders in this town are just wacky. The locals are hilarious and goofy, the mystery is great (I was jerked around the whole time; I wasn’t sure who the killer was), the romance is steamy, and it’s just an all around exciting, unpredictable book. I really enjoyed this one! Great for light reading and laughs.
delightfully written. I enjoyed the mystery without the gut and gorge. the solving of the mystery and mayhem without the normal violent behavior was refreshing.
Fun mystery novel. All I can say is it is a good thing that the owner of the soup/bookstore likes to solve murder mysteries, as people seemed to be killed all around her.
I just finished this book and loved it! It is set in a quirky little town (but not overly quirky like some authors do it) and full of mystery, romance, and comedy. I loved reading it, I loved all the characters and can’t wait to find the next one in this series
What a great story line. The soup and book shop is unique and has so many interesting customers. Our heroine is easy to love and her antics are always amusing.
I ‘ve found a new author! .I love these books.
Her writing is wonderful. Her books shine with humor, great characters and a good flow even with all the twist and turns. I have bought very book in this series and started another one of hers. I love her storylines.
A fun read.
An enjoyable mystery.
Great characters. Love the story line. Quirky.
following the plot was hard. It jumped around a lot.
Great book! Now I want to read more from this author!!
If you need to escape reality, this book is for you!
Wonderfully written. Am now reading the second book.
I couldn’t follow the mixture of magic and present for a while. The characters are likable and the storyline keeps moving. A good read especially late at night!
