The American Dream thrives in 1912 New York City Annie Wood, the housemaid-turned-pattern designer in The Pattern Artist, jumps at the chance to design her own clothing line when a wealthy New York couple offers to finance her endeavor. Joining the project is Annie’s new husband, Sean Culver, her best friend at Butterick, Maude Nascato, and a mother figure, Edna Holmquist. Annie and her … Holmquist.
Annie and her colleagues give up their careers, risking everything to follow a shared passion: clothes that are both fashionable and functional for modern, busy women in 1912.
Personal and financial setbacks test old relationships and new romances while threatening to keep the business from ever selling a single dress. No one said it would be easy. But the promise of the American Dream holds a deep hope for those who work hard, trust God, and never give up.

I felt like one of the girls, right there with them. A new fan of Nancy Moser.
I enjoy books by Nancy Moser.
Loved this book and the following ones. Couldn’t put them down. Interesting strong women characters. A wonderful book.
Really like this author and I am truly enjoying this series
It was a bit formulaic and the dialogue wasn’t realistic.
Very interesting historical book. Gives a glimpse into life a hundred years ago. Loves it.
Loved how the characters in this book brought their talents together to form a business and then a little romance in the mix.
Great read. Good mix of history and fiction with great characters. Refreshing and nostalgic.
Loved the historical aspect
A very boring beginning so I quite reading it.
I loved this story, of how an abused girl followed her dreams and used her skills to rise above her sad early life.
I really enjoyed this book. It kept moving and kept me wanting to read just one more page
The Fashion Designer is actually the second of two books so I looked up the first one and read it first, giving myself a better background. It’s been a little while since I read it, but I enjoyed the series because it based on history and the forming of pattern companies and fashion for ordinary people, not just the privileged. The references to and occurances in the books related to the sinking of the Titanic were very interesting.
The women in this book were ones that might be interesting to actually know and live around. They seemed to be able to handle just about everything that the world threw at them.
Beautiful story of faith.
Enjoyable
loved it
Great book!
This was one of my favorite books this year. It’s all about making a life for yourself and finding old and new ‘family’.
enjoyed this story
