What I really enjoyed about this book was the well developed, and the fantastic yet believable magic! To me, what makes a fantasy book great is if I can suspend disbelief and be pulled into the world the author creates. With Edwards’ book that’s exactly how it is. Check it out for an entertaining read!
A quick, enjoyable read that engages you with the characters.
Lovely and magical, but must hide her power. Lowly as the Farrier’s Daughter in a feudal system where the Chief has ultimate say and take anything he wants. Will she wed the love Prince who is being raised by this chief? The Prince’s parents were killed when he was a child. There’s a witch who has cast a spell to prevent the chief from ever producing a heir. Finally, there are relationships that are twisted, making the lowly into ranking with the lords, and higher ranking who deserve the dungeon.
Sex is part of the story so I don’t recommend this for young readers.
Good story but wordy , pace was a bit slower than necessary
loved reading it
This is book 1 of a 7 book series. Once you start reading you can’t put it down. The characters are strong and the story flows smoothly. My only complaint is the endings are left in the air and you have to buy the next book. I prefer a book where an ending does not leave you hanging. Yes, I bought the whole series and getting ready to read the last one. I know it will be good and hoping all questions are answered.
This story was full of ups and downs. The author was able to draw you into the past with very vivid details. Unique story thank you.
I wish I could remember to check dates on other books with similar plot lines. A formula story and series with just a slightly different twist.
A bit YA rather than adult, but enjoyable nontheless.
This book should not have been offered as a standalone. It was incomplete and it’s very frustrating for the reader to be forced to buy the next book in the series when the reader is not told beforehand
Loved it!
Slow starter. Not worth my time.
Loved it. Got the next two books !
A must read. You will want to continue with the series. Very interesting twists.
Just didn’t catch my fancy.
Loved this! Such an appealing charmer!
This book kept you guessing on how the main character in this book could navigate the human obstacles that pop up in her life. Failing to do so could result in tragedy!
If you enjoy reading about another time, another place and another type of world, this is your book. It took me away into a fantasy world
Worthy of possible series on the sci-FY channel, loved it as the characters as well.
I’m not a fan of tragic cliff hangers, especially when caused by the characters own failure to act or communicate. I prefer cliff hangers that are due to new challenges or situations. However, in this instance I enjoyed the story and the characters enough to convince me to continue on with the next book in the series and would recommend this book if you are able to look past this type of choice by the author. The blend of magic and fairy tale with the “real” world makes for a wonderful setting for a sweeping romance.
