Having left the military, Dakota Jones is at a crossroads in his life. With his elder brother and youngest sister happily settled in Sullivan’s Crossing, he shows up hoping to clear his head before moving on to his next adventure. But, like every visitor to the Crossing, he’s immediately drawn to the down-to-earth people and the seemingly simple way of life.
Dakota is unprepared for how quickly things get complicated. As a newcomer, he is on everyone’s radar—especially the single women in town. While he enjoys the attention at first, he’s really only attracted to the one woman who isn’t interested. And spending quality time with his siblings is eye-opening. As he gets to know them, he also gets to know himself and what he truly wants.
When all the Jones siblings gather for a family wedding, the four adults are drawn together for the first time in a way they never were as children. As they struggle to accept each other, warts and all, the true nature and strength of their bond is tested. But all of them come to realize that your family are the people who see you for who you really are and love you anyway. And for Dakota, that truth allows him to find the home and family he’s always wanted.

Her books are always heartfelt and wonderful! The books in this series follow suit. These are characters that you care about and that seem very real. There are some interactions with characters from previous books in this series, but each book stands alone. I love this series!
Gah i just love these characters! And now im getting another book in 2019! Yesssss. Happy camper over here.
This story is so much more than Dakota’s story. As with the other books in this series, the whole community is involved. We get a bit more of Cal and Maggie from What We Find. Quite a bit of Sierra and Connie, and their part of this story is just amazingly touching. We don’t see tons of Sully, but he’s in there. There are some old friends whose romance has been woven through all these books, and some old foes who aren’t to be trusted. This book just meanders along, touching on one story for a while and darting off to another as needed. It ends up a beautiful narrative.
There is no other word to describe the beginning of the friendship between Dakota and Sid other than sweet. It’s so innocent and lovely and true. They both had some bad experiences, especially Sid, but they clicked. Although Sid wasn’t looking for any sort of romantic attachment, she couldn’t help but be Dakota’s friend.
I wouldn’t consider this story “preachy” in any way, but there are so many timely issues that are addressed. What is considered stalking? Why isn’t assault reported? Can you “just get over it” if you have issues with anxiety? So many things going on here, yet the author does a wonderful job of keeping the prose from getting bogged down.
If you’re a Robyn Carr fan, you’ll enjoy this story. Even with some big issues being addressed, it was like a visiting with an old friend on the front porch with a glass of lemonade.

I like Robyn Carr’s writing, and revisiting these beloved characters is a bonus.
A standalone read with a HEA. The last book in this series. At the first of the story a lot of characters are mentioned and it gets a bit confusing until you get them all sorted out. If you read books 1 & 2, then you will already know these characters and their stories. You won’t be lost as it is a big family and enough of the background is shared so that you will know what is going on
The main characters are from a big family. The father suffered from a mental illness and his wife just plodded along keeping him safe at the expense of her children. They were in the hippie era so their weirdness was sort of looked at as their lifestyle. As soon as each child became of age they took off. This story is about Dakota. he joined the military right out of high school and never looked back. He is now out of the military and has drifted into the small town where his brothers and sister are now living. He meets the local bartender – she has a lot of issues of her own that she is working through. this story is about their journey to a HEA. It is a very good story and holds the attention from beginning to end. There is a crazy nut job that is involved with this story. She didn’t get near what was coming to her IMHO, but such is fiction. It is a good read and I definitely recommend it.
I was not paid for this review. I am not a writer nor do I know one. I am not kin to this author. I am a reader and this is my opinion, nothing more, nothing less. 7/23/18
Fantastic book about family, reconnecting, love, fear, and forgiveness.
This is the 3rd in this series and it really in a good series to read and recommend reading them in order
Loved, loved, loved!
Another great book in the series.
This was such a great book. Dakota Jones just got released from the army then took a walk about in Australia and decided to come to Sullivan’s Crossings to visit his brother Cal and sister Sierra. He is there in time for Sierras wedding to Connie and Cal and Maggie birth for their baby girl. While in Sullivan crossing, he meets a bartender name Sid. She is a divorcee who is helping her brother Rob raise his two sons and work at his bar to figure out if she wants to go back to her old job computer programming. The two have no plans to meet anyone, but you know how plans go. Dakota gets a job on a garbage truck, spends time with his family, and enjoys bothering Sid for a date. I was glad that they bought the hold Jones family together to see what was happening with Cal and Maggie, Sully, Sierra and Connie, and they even brought in the older sister Sedona and her problems. It was another riveting and special book about families dealing with their past and present problems and each other. I like how they all got together to help when one was in trouble. Thank you Robyn….you wrote another fascinating story.
I love all Robyn Carr books. Modern characters and family oriented
Love all the Robyn Carr books.
Returning back to Sullivan’s Crossing, this time it’s Dakota Jones, brother of Cal and Sierra. Dakota is now discharged from the military where he’d escaped his crazy upbringing. He’s looking for a place to settle and joins his brother and sister in Timberlake for what he thinks will be just a short time. Enter Sid, who’s recovering from a devasting divorce and working as bartender at her brother’s place, These two flawed characters hit it off, overcome a stalker or two and meld even more into the community, and eventually find their own love story.
This wasn’t as fluid a story as the two previous ones, it did seem a bit choppy in parts, almost as if it’d been written in different places. But the end result was satisfactory.
This is the latest book in Robin Carr’s, Sullivan’s Crossing series. Old and new characters and always a great story. It’s like visiting with old friends and meeting new friends and family.
Don’t miss this book and if you haven’t tried this series, What are you waiting for?!
I can’t wait for the next book!
