“But as the bone-and-metal-clad thongs sliced into his flesh, he felt God’s punishment purge his sins from his body. Felt years and years of sin and lies drain from him. Gabriel’s eyes rolled back in pleasure as he let all seven of the whip’s leather laces extract their revenge. Seven, one for each of the Fallen and the mortal sins Gabriel knew they would one day commit. Seven for the deadly sins, and seven for the heavenly virtues that would aid in his redemption.”
Joseph lost his mother at a young age and his brother James is all he has left. Living in the Holy Innocents orphanage, Joseph is extremely grateful to the priests who care for the place, for without them he would not have a chance in life. But if Joseph is the epitome of the good boy, the same can not be said of James. The two are water and wine, light and darkness.
The truth is that James has a craving for blood that Joseph can not understand. And neither control, as he will find out after an unfortunate incident.
With James now far away, Joseph will try to find his brother at all costs, even if he has to disobey the figures he admires and behave like a bad boy. But if Purgatory is the place he craves, the truth may be far worse than he imagines. Hell seems a more appropriate name to the place where those who do not behave are disciplined.
When Joseph enters this new world, not only will his physique suffer but also his spirit and innocence. He will find that the people he has always respected and admired are madmen who use the holy name in vain, prevail over their power to mistreat the boys, and commit acts that no Christian would find acceptable.
Joseph is now in the possession of the Brethren, an old brotherhood based on the Spanish inquisition who believes in the presence of evil and demons and perform exorcisms condemned by the high church, but for them is the only way to rid the world of demons that possessed these boys. If for this were necessary torture or rape or worse, they do not care.
Finding his brother was his only goal, but when he came across five more boys, renamed like archangels just like him, and thirsting for blood as well as his brother, he will discover his true vocation, for which reason God allowed him to endure all this.
But at the age of eighteen, fate intervenes and resolves to help him, supplying him with weapons so that he can escape from this hell and rescues his friends. And the boy renamed Gabriel will take upon himself the mission of caring for his brothers, the fallen angels. Even if it costs what was left of his soul.
The Fallen: Genesis is an introduction to this new world created by Tillie Cole, serving to introduce the characters and situate the narrative. Each forthcoming book will feature one of these boys, now men, once the story takes a decade-long jump in the finale.
The book presents some scenes that can cause discomfort, the theme is strong, controversial and adult. Tillie returns with her darkest book in my opinion. The series aroused my curiosity, is very well written and it is inevitable to want to know more about the boys. Even if they are controversial. And dangerous. Prepare your hearts. The Fallen arrived.

I devoured the book in one seating, that’s how captivating and intriguing it was… The fallen by Tillie Cole is out of this world and a must read if you love Dark romance!!! I can’t wait for more…
I was really looking forward to reading this prequel, and for Tillie to feed my dark and twisted bookworm needs. This novella did just that.
The Fallen: Genesis sets up the premise for the remainder of the Deadly Virtues Series by providing the back story for how the Fallen came to exist.
Tillie has consistently warned this book is not for everyone, it is dark, it crosses trigger boundaries; so know your limits. If you love all the dark then DIVE on in!
The Fallen spans several years and is told entirely from the eldest member of the groups point of view. Gabriel is different from his brothers and will act as the foundation that grounds the other members of the group. The tale is set in an orphanage run by priests; however of course all is not as it seems and evil creeps amongst the stone walls of the orphanage.
It is a tale full of depravity, abuse, twisted perceptions of faith and virtue, and one powerful bond of brotherhood that I cannot wait to explore more of. This prequel truely sets the pace of the series to come, each member of the Fallen has an urge that connects them all but differs and is unique to them. It’s going to be one hell of a ride and I am ready to strap in and hold on tight!
Hold on to your hats guys! We are in for one hell of a ride with this new series from Tillie Cole. The Fallen: Genesis brings us the leading characters and the premise for these books, starting with a mind blowing series of events which will blow your little socks off!
Written with her trademark confidence and flair, The Fallen had me on the very edge of my seat and growing very excited for what future episodes will be bringing us. With a resounding open handed slap on the table, Tillie has brought me to complete attention. I think I am ready…eek!
Nothing can prepare you for Genesis!! This dark look into the mysterious Brethren of the Catholic Church will have you desperate to learn more about this hidden sect. The Holy Innocents Home for Children is definitely more than meets the eye. A sad revelation that James is about to uncover.
After his mother passed away, James and his brother were raised in the Catholic Church by the priests. Noticing that his brother is a bit ‘different’, James makes it his mission to always put his brother’s needs above everything else. Little did James know that his protective nature would lead him to uncover a secret so dark that few lived to tell about it.
What James was about to uncover was a world of torture, abuse, and twisted doctrine. Not only was James’ brother being held in this twisted prison disguised as an arm of the church, but the discovery also led James to uncover more missing boys. The seven boys were pulled into a world that revolved around the fallen angels in biblical times. What transpired behind locked doors fueled James to find a way to save them all. With their whereabouts a secret from the outside world, will their fate lie in the hands of those that are keeping them captive?
Genesis is the prequel to an intriguing new series by Tillie Cole. It is a dark journey into a world that few can even fathom. The gritty content had me glued to my reader looking for any revelation on where this plot would extend in the coming book. There were moments where I was swallowing at the building angst and turmoil in the book. However – I simply couldn’t stop reading! Genesis has set the pace for a series that will be unlike anything you have read before. The Deadly Virtues series is definitely going to be a series that you don’t want to miss!!
It’s been awhile since I’ve read Tillie Cole, but when I saw little teases of her upcoming series, Deadly Virtues, I was really intrigued by it. It wasn’t what I was expecting because for some reason from the look and the synopsis of The Fallen: Genesis, I was thinking the series would be dystopian paranormal — uh, it’s not — but that didn’t bother me because I absolutely loved this prequel! I can’t think of a lot of prequels that I’ve read in my day, but this was without the best one I’ve ever read, it was an excellent introduction to the series and I cannot wait to read more!
The Fallen: Genesis captivated me and if I could have, I would have read this in one sitting — I did not want to put it down until I finished. It was just a short book, but there was such depth to the world, you could really tell that Ms. Cole put so much planning into the series and it really blew my mind a little. It was dark and heartbreaking, it brought tears to my eyes and just made me feel, and I really hope all of the men, including Gabriel, find their peace in whatever way they need. The Fallen: Genesis was so, so good — I NEED MORE!
Holy Mother of all things religious…you all are in for a wickedly dark and delectable treat with this new series by Tillie Cole. I have been waiting for a proper dark read and Cole’s words in this prequel have made my little black heart go pitter patter. If this is a premonition of what is to come in the following books, then sign me up as I will be one clicking faster than you can say ‘†åê ê †ð ê’!!
The Fallen: Genesis is the first in this precession of and is an introduction and sets the structure of this band of fallen brothers and their sanguinary appetites. I am totally looking forward to acquainting myself personally with each and every one of these seven archangels.
Total . Total . Totally ! This series will not be for pansy-assed readers. You people ready for this type of dark play. So don’t be that reader that says “ ’ ” and “ ” after reading all the warnings as to the content and the storylin
Truth, I had to put this book down several times while reading… because it all felt to real. Bloody hell Tillie Cole is twisted genius and I do not know how she can come up with storyline like the one in The Fallen: Genesis. If you thought that Sick Fux was dark, twisted and F** up , well you do not know what you are in for with this series.
The Fallen: Genesis is a prequel but this story makes you FEEL and Tillie’s words are not just WORDS they’re a journey that pulls you into the life of darkness, taboos and more.
This story CRASHED into my soul I have no idea how to review a book that has left me so raw and in shock that I haven’t been able to think of anything else.
I can’t say much more out of fear of giving away the heartache we’re destined for in this story. All I can say is I can’t wait for Raphael to see what Tillie Cole has in store for us.
MINDBLOWING!!
I don’t know how Tillie Cole comes up with her story’s but this introduction the the world of the Fallen is the reason that for me she is the Queen of Darkness what a hell of ride this will be.
I will admit this series is going to push the boundary’s but when it comes to Tillie Coles stories i love to be pushed and i will read all her words because she is an amazing author.
This novella was what was needed to show us exactly how the boys became who they were and what happened in their lives to really start the first book of Raphael. This was one hell of a story and these boys are not your usual hero’s and will me some time to fall in love with them but i can’t wait for the journey.
I don’t want to give to much away but this is going to be a sick and twisted series that will surprise us and if your a fan off Tillie Cole you won’t be disappointed
I really loved this story and i am super excited for the next book on this series, i just know it will test me and i can’t wait.

My heart is in my throat. I don’t even know where to begin this review. I was in a trance turning pages and when it ended I felt empty, I felt like I needed more. I still need more, this story was just raw and down right disturbing, everything that I crave in a dark read, Tillie Cole did not let me down.

You meet seven boys and how they came to be, how their life’s where shaped and how Faith gets tested. I’m not gonna say more, actually the only thing I’m going to say is that this is dark, is intense, it broke my heart and a piece of my soul was left with this boys. Going in blind was the best thing I did reading this book. I WAS SHOOKET!!!!!

5 pitch black stars!!!
*** I read an Advance Copy and this is my honest review
Tillie looks like an angel but she has a dark side or at least a dark imagination. Her creativity pushes boundaries most wouldn’t dare. It’s a twisted plot but good reading. I’m so interested in what comes next.
WHAT AN AMAZING START TO A NEW SERIES!!!!!
Seriously, this book was intriguing from start to finish. The first page will grab your attention and pull you into a story full of twist and turns and boundaries will be crossed. The Fallen brethren are exactly that…brothers. They bleed and fight for each other. Their close knit relationships are already so interesting and Tillie just gave us a glimpse that just makes me want more!!!
I am SO excited for the next book and for all the books that come after in this series!!!
Fabulous introduction of all the characters, their background and I CAN NOT WAIT FOR ALL THE BOOKS TO COME for this series!
I’m already in love with one of these guys and the romance hasn’t even begun
This is a prequel novella to the new Deadly Virtues Series by Tillie, and my goodness me what a stonker of a start this was!!! Brilliantly written, it grabs you within minutes and won’t let go. I devoured this and I seriously can’t wait to read the rest in this new series, they are going to be freaking awesome if this is anything to go by!!!
I can’t tell you much about the plot without giving away too much – its set in a home for orphaned boys where the priests look out for them and raised them in the family of the church. Except for some – seven boys who are different from the rest, boys with a darkness in their souls, violence in their blood. The priests are not ordinary priests, they are a sect on a mission to destroy the demons and the darkness that possesses the seven boys and will do anything in their power to seek out this darkness and drive it out.
This is not for the faint hearted, there are triggers galore, it is darkness at its best – raw, gritty, powerful, sick and violent, but oh so delicious!! Oh the emotions you go through reading this, just unreal!! I can’t wait to dive into this world after having this taster. If darkness, twisted, sick and deviant is your thing then don’t miss this!!!
For me very few Authors corner the market for Delicious Darkness quite like Tillie Cole., This chick is in a league of her own and I bow down to her genius twisted mind.
This prequel has sparked my excitement for a series that ticks all my Dark boxes. It’s terrifying, heart pounding, jaw dropping, fuxked up Sh!t and I fuxking loved every minute.
These characters will get under your skin and infect you with their twisted depravity. There’s just something fascinating about each of the Fallen.
You’ll want to delve inside their minds even though it’s a disturbing place you won’t escape from unscathed.
Bring it on!! I’m more than ready to Fall for the Fallen.
The more twisty and dark Tillie Cole gets the more I love her!! This book is not for the faint of heart, but if you can read dark books this one is for you! I cannot wait for more in this series!
The Fallen: Genesis is the prequel in Tillie Cole’s new series called the Deadly Virtues, and all I can say is OMFG! I love the Hades Hangmen series, and I was so dang excited to start this new one. I knew it was going to be a bit darker than the Hangmen, but wow! It was incredibly dark, raw, and gritty, and I went through so many emotions while reading.
It started off with brothers Joseph and James sharing a room at the Holy Innocents Home for Children, which is an orphanage run by the Catholic Church located in Boston, Ma. Joseph is the older brother, and he feels a strong need to help and protect his younger brother. After an eye-opening scene, I was gripping my Kindle tightly, and I could not stop reading. I became mesmerized by the characters and the storyline. I found that I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough, yet I wanted to savor every word.
I am counting the days until Raphael, the first book in the series is released! A definite add to your TBR list!
Voluntarily Reviewed an Advanced Copy
Holy smokes! What the hell did I just read?! It was completely insane, but OH SO GOOD! The Fallen: Genesis is dark, twisted, gritty and sick, and I could not tear my eyes from the pages. This book was the bomb, and kept me on the edge of my seat the whole way through. I absolutely loved it!
Holy Innocents is a home and school for young orphaned boys. It’s run by a secular clergy who lead by their own twisted rules. Michael and Gabriel spent their childhood here when their mom died and left them all alone. Gabriel is devoted to his beliefs, serving God and taking care of his younger brother.
What the boys soon discover is one act of misconduct and you will be sent to a secluded section known as Purgatory. Inside there, the seven deadly archangels reside with an insatiable bloodlust running through their veins. And they are just itching to get out and wreak havoc in the world.
The Fallen: Genesis is the first story in a brand new dark and twisted series. I could not wait to get my hands on it, and it most definitely did not disappoint. I am completely enthralled by this whole new world that Tillie Cole has created. This is not one that needs to be missed. Please make sure to one-click as soon as it goes live. You need this book!
