Star FBI detective Amos Decker and his colleague Alex Jamison must solve four increasingly bizarre murders in a dying rust belt town–and the closer they come to the truth, the deadlier it gets in this rapid-fire #1 New York Times bestseller. Something sinister is going on in Baronville. The rust belt town has seen four bizarre murders in the space of two weeks. Cryptic clues left at the … clues left at the scenes–obscure bible verses, odd symbols–have the police stumped.
Amos Decker and his FBI colleague Alex Jamison are in Baronville visiting Alex’s sister and her family. It’s a bleak place: a former mill and mining town with a crumbling economy and rampant opioid addiction. Decker has only been there a few hours when he stumbles on a horrific double murder scene.
Then the next killing hits sickeningly close to home. And with the lives of people he cares about suddenly hanging in the balance, Decker begins to realize that the recent string of deaths may be only one small piece of a much larger scheme–with consequences that will reach far beyond Baronville.
Decker, with his singular talents, may be the only one who can crack this bizarre case. Only this time–when one mistake could cost him everything–Decker finds that his previously infallible memory may not be so trustworthy after all…

Love love love this series and the characters. Amos Decker is fun. This book exposes how the opioid crisis has taken over small town america. I really enjoyed this one and look forward to the next
Great read
suspenseful
The characters are full bodied, flawed, but lovable, and the storylines are original, multifaceted, interesting and it is hard to put the book down, even at night when the lines are blurring due to the hour! The CD version is spectacular with Kyrgyz Brewer and Orlaugh Casidy as the readers. What a wonderful was to get to sleep listening to these two reading a great book!
I love everything David Balducci writes. I love all the characters – he never disappoints.
Well done. The protagonist is slightly flawed but competant. The book is well paced.
A good read but not as interesting as the prior books in the series.
Great Action Novel!
I like the main character. The story depressed because drugs are such an issue in the country.
Love the Amos Decker series. Good read.
First time I have read a book with this character. Will have to read the three previous in the series!
I love David Baldacci books especially his earlier books when there weren’t so many curse words. He is an excellent writer.

Started slow, but last half worth it. Like the character.
Climax was great, but conclusion a bit drawn out
The Memory Man series is a must read Addictive, plan to stay up all night. Read the previous book first. You will not be sorry you took my advice!! Baldacci is first rate in every book he writes.
Amos Decker novels are all great. Wonderful thought processes by author and characters
He is the best mystery writer out there today
I’ve read all his books and have enjoyed them all . You never know what will happen next
The story could have been told in 100 fewer pages! The inside working of a
fulfillment center was interesting.
