From bestselling author Dr. Rebecca Sharp comes an enemies-to-lovers epic romance with a forbidden twist…Love is angry. Love is blind. Love is envious and loathful. And I loathed Léo Baudin. My new art professor. My enemy.I didn’t move to Rhode Island for this. I came to forget the Troian Milanovic I’d left behind and start fresh where the damage and betrayal couldn’t follow. But Professor Baudin … the damage and betrayal couldn’t follow.
But Professor Baudin wouldn’t let me.
Cold. Caustic. Captivating. He didn’t just push my buttons…
He lit them all up with the indifferent smirk of an aristocratic French asshole.
But how much I loathed him only made my need for him stronger.
To have him would be either victory or loss. There would be no compromise.
To have him would be war.
So I fought back.
But I was Troy. And he was the wooden horse, full of dangerous secrets I never saw coming.
I was the one who invited him inside my walls, celebrating without seeing through his disguise.
And under the cover of darkness, he laid siege to my body, my mind, and finally, my heart.
The first may be a myth, but this time the history books would show that if Troy fell, it was with her all.
The Fall of Troy is the first book in the Odyssey Duet.

The Fall of Troy is a psychological and emotional story of the emptiness of betrayal and the difficulty of repairing the heart with love. After witnessing the deception of her father and her best friend, Troian was desperate to get away. Enrolling at mid-semester at the Rhode Island School of Design, Troy can only sign up for limited courses and she chooses an art class taught by Professor Leo Baudin. Leo has left Paris to teach in the United States after he threw a chisel at a student in the classroom. He spends his sabbatical teaching in Rhode Island rather than having nothing to do in Paris. This premise is realistic which contributes to its believability. The first time Leo and Troy see each other, there is a recognition of the same pain and anger in each other’s eyes. Leo has experienced a great loss and has closed off his heart as a result. Troy is drawn to Leo and feels that he is broken, just like she is. Leo sees, in Troy, the person who can save him but he’s sure he’d destroy her in the process. They can’t stay away from each other and are explosive when they’re together. Leo keeps trying to send her away but, eventually, he realizes that Troy is the only person who makes him feel alive and with hope of a future. They are inseparable and spend as much time as possible with each other. Troy has checked into attending schools in Paris when Leo has to return. Their future is bright and neither of them saw the anguish coming. Both scandalous and shocking, their hopes end. Rebecca Sharp never disappoints and she delivers The Fall of Troy with eloquence and gripping emotion.
Love it
Who could not fall in love with a sexy dirty mouthed French teacher?
Same great writing for this forbidden love story that kept me up all night reading and left me wanting the second book immediately.
I absolutely love the cover and can’t wait for more.
I cannot get this book out of my head! I absolutely adored Troy and Leo. And Ms. Sharp’s writing is a lyrical feast for the senses, weaving elements of historical romance’s lush prose with the sharp edginess of the contemporary genre. I was enthralled. Bewitched. Captivated. And, at the end, devastated, because I now have to wait for Book II. But, only a short wait, thank goodness!
Read this book…it has the twisty, steamy dirtiness you need with the beautiful romantic moments you love.

Holy Smokes this book is on fire!!! From the steamy connections to the down and gritty emotional dealing!! The Fall of Troy is book one in the Odyssey Duet by Dr. Rebecca Sharp and I can’t wait for book two!!!!! From the very start, I was dragged into the world of Troy and Leo. It’s hot from the get-go and the drama is a full-on whirlwind that brings your emotions to the surface. Outstanding writing that includes all the little bits and pieces of history of Troy and oh the French language! Swoon!.
I have read a few student-teacher stories but this book adds in the enemies to lovers aspect that makes it top the charts! The connection that is made and that screams off the pages is brilliantly written. The anger, the chemistry, everything! What really pulled me in is Troy herself. Her story in itself is heartbreaking and her unrealized strength is amazing. (trying not to give anything away). There is just so much more to this story that makes it a must read.
This was an amazing read and I can’t wait for book two.
I absolutely loved this book!! Rebecca did an amazing job with it. I cannot wait for the second one in the Odyssey duet. The angst, the sarcasm, the anger, hurt between Troy and Leo felt so real. There was so much raw emotion for both with what they each went through.
Oh my gawd! What the heck! Okay let me catch my breath just a second because this book, oh my goodness! Not one, I repeat, not one second did the feels let up.
So, first off let me just say how gorgeous the cover is. It really drew me in plus that mysteriously alluring blurb. I just couldn’t help myself. Also, let me be honest that forbidden romance is not my usual read and I’m just starting to wade in the waters so to speak. And like the others books I’ve read before this, I truly understood the appeal of this trope now. Because this is freaking hot and intense! Gah!!!
Troian or Troy went to live with her mother after she discovered her father’s secret affair. Betrayed, angry and hurt by someone whom she sought attention her whole life, she started to a new school where her mother teaches, while trying to heal and sort out her life.
After a teaching incident, Leo or Professor Leo Baudin was invited by his friend to come all the way from France and teach Art for a semester in Rhode Island. Burning with hatred and hurt by his past, he agreed and on a chance encounter, he saw Troy.
I couldn’t tell you how I was choking with too much feelings for these two. Both are tortured, broken soul who found each other’s missing piece, but age, position and a shadowy past prevented them from being together. What ensued was a sexual tension so thick you couldn’t breathe from it, sizzling chemistry that positively leapt from each page, burning passion and soulful yearning that took my breath away every damn time.
I fell in love with this story and I cannot wait to read the next book because that ending, oh my heart, it tore me apart. Need book 2 right now!
Q: “Aux objets répugnants nous trouvons des appas.”
{In the things we loathe become the things we love.}
The Fall of Troy is the first book in the Odyssey Duet by Rebecca Sharp and what a phenomenal introduction this was to her writing. I have heard of Dr. Sharp before, however, I haven’t had the pleasure of reading the stories she’s penned in the past. After I signed up to blog this absolutely stunning enemies-to-lovers, forbidden romance, I was left breathless and utterly bereft. Its been almost two days since I finished the story and I am still powerless to write a review which fully expresses just how much I loved this story.
.
Q: ..if I wasn’t careful, Troy would be the battle to bring me to my knees.
The Fall of Troy was exceptional in every way. The prose was powerful and completely evocative. It’s captivating from the first moment and while some might call the writing style ‘wordy,’ it’s only so in the most exquisite way—imagery which was intense and vivid will completely suck you in and the use of classic literature to substantiate the characters mindsets in a truly stunning manner that is rarely exhibited in romance these days made this one of my favorite reads of the year. The pacing of this book is perfect—I was so consumed I read it straight through from start to finish. The storyline will not only grab your attention but will stay with you long after you’ve read The Fall of Troy. I was emotionally wasted after this single book and I am almost terrified of my emotional state after the conclusion to the duet is available. I rarely respond this strongly to a book. It’s angsty AF, undeniably one of the hottest books I have read in a minute, and the characters latched themselves tightly into my heart. Dr. Sharp wrote the story in dual POV and both Troy and Leo were strong characters who show progression. There is nothing about The Fall of Troy that is less than a five-star read… I would give this book an 8 on a zero to five scale. Buy this book NOW! Read it IMMEDIATELY!!! And you will be thanking me for the recommendation!
Q: He was cruel. I was crazy. Our ending would be tragic.
Q: That was the thing about living in a bubble— sometimes it’s so clear that you don’t even realize when it pops.
This is my first read by this author. I’m duly impressed with the writing, how the story unfolds, the poetry that’s woven into not only the thought dialogue but the story itself, and especially how the author allegorically retold the story of Troy.
In this forbidden professor-student romance, the heroine, Troian, aka Troy, recognizes and is instantly drawn to the anger and frustration on our Hero, Leo’s face, when she first sees him in a coffee shop. This is definitely NOT a story where the two main characters can’t resist the urge and fall in love right away. Both Hero and heroine carry deep emotional baggage which whips around each of them like a storm, that seems to turn into a stronger hurricane when they’re together. Both relish in the challenge of trying to push each’s other’s buttons, yet neither of them can understand why they do it. However, because the story is told from a dual point of view, we know why Leo feels like he’s living in a purgatory which results in him behaving like a first class a**hole to everyone he meets, especially Troy. Once Troy realizes that Leo is her new art professor, she begins her quest to uncover the reasons behind all her anger.
I found this quote seemed to describe these two and their relationship, “Love is war. And war takes two sides to fight. Without both, there is not battle…there is no love. He was the other half that made this fight. He was the other half that made love possible.”
I rated this 4 stars for a few reasons. One, it ends on a cliffhanger. Two, although Troy makes some real emotional breakthroughs for a 19 year old, she also reflects the maturity level of the same age, not fully understanding the risks Leo is taking or how he’s trying to protect her. And third, our flawed Leo, who on one hand tries to be the adult, but acts like a randy teenager. But I guess this leads us to the conclusion of this duet, which I can’t wait to read!

Review listed from Up All Night With Books by me
It’s not often that I am left at a loss on how to word my review but here I sit and I am totally speechless. How do I, an avid reader who enjoys blogging about the books she reads, write a review that will do this book any sort of justice? I have no idea! I am definitely not as gifted with words as the Dr. Rebecca Sharp and after reading THE FALL OF TROY I feel as if I don’t come close Professor Léo Baudin will have me bent over his desk to spank my ass.
This book was filled with passion and heartache and I couldn’t tell you which was stronger because it seemed that each emotion feed off of the other. This was a story about a young woman whose life changed in a blink of an eye and was forced to start over in a new town, things weren’t looking good for Troian but she did what she had to do then she locked eyes with the most handsome guy she had ever seen, she refered to his eyes as 20,000 leagues under the sea so much depth in them, it was lust at first site. Professor Léo Baudin has had a rough go of it himself and that is also why he is in this small town in Rhode Island.
Rebecca Sharp is a fairly new to me author as I have only read one of her books previously. I did however have the chance to meet her at a book signing last summer along with her husband and she is super sweet so if you ever have the opportunity to meet her take it, you’ll love her as much as her books. I read a lot of erotic romances not necessary erotica but definitely books where the sexy times happens on the pages and not behind closed doors, as I was saying before I have only read one book by this author before so I wasn’t sure how hot the scenes would be, let me just say one word SCORCHING! Did that peak your interest? How about if I told you I will NEVER look at a copy of Les Fleurs du Mal by Charles Baudelaire the same again!!!!
This was the first book in THE ODYSSEY DUET, with the second book due out at the beginning of July. I really hope you add this duet to your TBR list because it is just that good, remember over 17 please due to sexual content.
Happy Reading!
The Fall of Troy is the first book in the Odyssey duet by Dr. Rebecca Sharp. This story really pulled me in and just didn’t let go. From the very beginning the tortured characters presented themselves and made me feel like I was falling right along with them. The female character Troy is much like in the original story and is pulled in then betrayed, except this time it isn’t the Greeks it’s a distant father and a broken Frenchman. This is a great taboo story of forbidden love that left me wanting to read more of the sexy scenes between Troy and Leo. With The Fall of Troy leaving off on a cliff hanger I literally was ready to throw my kindle because I wanted to know what happened next!!! Not to worry though The Judgement of Paris will be out shortly and Troian and Leo’s story will continue. The Fall of Troy is an excellent 5-star read.
Troian (Troy) Milanovic has done everything she can to gain her father’s attention and make him proud, but Troy’s walls come tumbling down when she discovers her father and best friend have betrayed her. Living with her mother now, Troy is ready to find out what makes HER happy in life, which she slowly learns is the broken older Frenchman that is teaching her freshmen college art class. Professor Leo Baudin needed to get away from Paris for awhile to mend his broken heart and soul and learns to find hope in the loathing and loving of one his students. Not caring how it affects him, Leo tries to tell Troy that he will be her downfall, but Troy is ready to take that fall if it means being with Leo.
OMG!!!!
Teacher/student romance books are my kryptonite!! And this book, was just AMAZING!!!
Is my first book from This author and my god she has me hooked with her words.
Just like certain art, Leo and Troy are beautiful and chaotic, flawless and so intricate all at the same time. The pull is inevitable.
Leo the French art teacher, he is broken and full of anger, life has just messed him up royally, he is stuck in a vicious cycle and can’t seem to move forward until Troy, his student. Troy, she is a force of anger and passion. When this two cross paths they recognize the hurt in each other’s eyes, they are both damaged individuals that need the anger to survive. Their pain was real and they saw it, the pull between them was undeniable and their anger is easily mistaken into hate for one another. I can really say a lot about this characters, but I feel that is best to read this book and feel them. Feel the need and the passion for the forbidden.
I bow down to Rebecca Sharp, because she wrote a story that was just so poetic and raw a true roller coaster of emotions that is gonna pull you into a battle where the weak lose, but is it really losing if you give in to what you want?
Mon Dieu!!! I need more….. that ending left me speechless.
I need more of Leo’s dirty mouth and passion!
This book is on the top 10 this year, a must read!!
All the stars!!
*i read an advance copy and this is my honest opinion
This is undoubtedly my favorite Rebecca Sharp book. She blew it completely out of the park with this one. It was so heartbreakingly beautiful. I didn’t want to stop reading. It’s not just a love story, it’s an odyssey. It’s epic and angsty and full of forbidden love, which Rebecca Sharp excels at, along with one of the best assholes she’s written. You will hate him, you will love him and then at the end of the day you can’t help but root for them. I’m so ecstatic to see how this amazing duet ends.
“In the things we loathe become the things we love.”
If you think that cover is stunning, wait until you read the words inside! The Fall of Troy is an incredibly captivating work of art. Troian and Léo are two of the most beautifully broken characters I’ve come across in a long time. You not only read about their pain, but also feel it. Their story is full of so much despair, desire, and love—and they owned every single emotion evoked from me.
“I’ve been fighting this battle, ma petite, but the truth is I lost the war the moment I touched you—the moment I claimed you. Like a disease, your fire, your smile infected my mind with the thought that I could have more, more than this purgatory, and it tainted my blood with the need for it.”
The Fall of Troy is undoubtedly one of my favorite books of the year, and one of the best student/professor romances I’ve read. I love everything about it! Rebecca Sharp’s poetic writing is breathtaking, and she’s penned a flawlessly forbidden romance that I can’t get out of my head—let alone the grasp it has on my heart. I’m left awestruck, and desperately awaiting the continuation in The Judgement of Paris.
If you love enemies-to-lovers or forbidden romance, then this book is a MUST read!
WOW! I have read many of Rebecca Sharp’s books, and for me this one has been my favourite so far. I can’t wait for book 2. The emotional attachment is compelling and tragic with such hurt and betrayal rejection drama and sexual tension. Troian (Troy) Milanovic 18 year emotional young woman runs to her mother for a fresh start from her past. What she wasn’t expecting was her art professor Leo Baudin to be as damaged as her. The characters are amazing and so well written I found myself captivated by their story and eagerly awaiting the next book. Highly recommended read
A brilliant masterpiece. Enemies to lovers romance that is so hot and forbidden you simply crave more. She outdoes herself with every piece of writing but this is some of her best work. The emotions will leave you in major hangover mode. The ending…gah. Cannot wait for more of this.
Wow this story is pure art. If you think you are getting with this book cute and fluffy you are dead wrong! This is so much more. It’s desperation, raw emotion, savage behavior. While Troy has needed for years attention and caring, she finds in Leo the complete opposite but she is still drawn to him. The word cuddling does not exist in this professor’s vocabulary. But his cruelty and direct approach ignites a fire in her needed to grow up and view life differently. In return she gives Leo hope, clarity and motivation. She awakens his creativity. They recognize in each other their true pain and disguised as hate they transform it into love and desire. With a lot of dirty, rough and forbidden “desire”. They even loose all rationality, restraint and common sense with it. What I can finally say is…I can’t wait to see how Troy will fight for Leo next or will fight him for that matter.
This story deals with the aftermath of Hypothetically, which appeared in the No Limits anthology. It’s not necessary to read that first, but I already knew some of the characters from that short story.
Troy is running away from what she sees as her fathers betrayal. Her relationship with him has broken down to such an extent, that she goes to live with her mother for the first time in six years. She’s broken, empty and lost. In trying to cope with all the pain in her life she made some serious errors and is now trying to pick up the pieces.
Léo is also in free fall. He’s been sent to the US to let the dust settle from his latest debacle in France. He’s in ruins, his muse has deserted him and he fears he’ll never produce art again.
It’s therefore inevitable that these two souls should recognise the broken pieces in each other. One problem stands in their way: he’s her new college professor.
The way these two characters circle each other, seemingly magnetised, means that their eventual clash would be stratospheric. They loathe each other, they loathe themselves but can’t stop wanting each other.
Léo is a dirty, silver tongued devil. The way he expresses himself is just to die for. His rage, his longing, his desire all manifest themselves in the most delicious way. It’s no wonder Troy fell for him; this reader did too.
The storyline is such that the book ends on a cliffhanger; part two, The Siege of Paris, is going to finish me off; I’m sure of it.
There are alot of student teacher romances but this book is a standout in this genre. This was a story that once I started reading I couldn’t put it down.
Leo and Troy were so wrong for each other but the pull they feel to each other cannot be denied. Both of them are reeling from events in their pasts. A forbidden love of epic proportions. A man who is closed off and bitter. A young woman struggling to make sense of a betrayal drawn together by an invisible force. This is anger, this is pain, this is hate, this is passion. Two people who can’t be together but they make sense.
This is my favourite book by this author and in my opinion her best to date. Her writing is like poetry it’s descriptive beauty pulls you in. The ending hurts my romantic heart, my need for book two is high hopefully it will be out soon.
Sexy, angsty and forbidden The Fall of Troy was everything you could want in a Taboo romance. This professor student enemies-to-lovers romance is the first book in the Odyssey Duet and it had me hooked on every single work from start to finish.
Leo and Troy were two flawed complex characters. Both a bit broken, but together they started to mend themselves. The chemistry between them was off the charts intense and could not be denied. Their steamy scenes set the pages of this story on fire….it was that hott.
This story was well written and descriptive and will have you at the edge of your seat. It was emotional, passionate and the ending will have you anxious for more.
I can’t wait for the next book in this series. The Fall of Troy was a phenomenal page-turner and I would highly recommend it to all lovers of forbidden romances.
