From bestselling author Dr. Rebecca Sharp comes an enemies-to-lovers epic romance with a forbidden twist…Love is angry. Love is blind. Love is envious and loathful. And I loathed Léo Baudin. My new art professor. My enemy.I didn’t move to Rhode Island for this. I came to forget the Troian Milanovic I’d left behind and start fresh where the damage and betrayal couldn’t follow. But Professor Baudin … the damage and betrayal couldn’t follow.
But Professor Baudin wouldn’t let me.
Cold. Caustic. Captivating. He didn’t just push my buttons…
He lit them all up with the indifferent smirk of an aristocratic French asshole.
But how much I loathed him only made my need for him stronger.
To have him would be either victory or loss. There would be no compromise.
To have him would be war.
So I fought back.
But I was Troy. And he was the wooden horse, full of dangerous secrets I never saw coming.
I was the one who invited him inside my walls, celebrating without seeing through his disguise.
And under the cover of darkness, he laid siege to my body, my mind, and finally, my heart.
The first may be a myth, but this time the history books would show that if Troy fell, it was with her all.
The Fall of Troy is the first book in the Odyssey Duet.

WHAT THE H*LL JUST HAPPENED?
I’ve never felt this way before. I think I even forgot when was the last time a book was capable of leaving me in this state; Physically and mentally worn out but at the same time, excited by what is yet to come.
Reading every single one of Rebecca’s Sharp words feels like poetry. There is no other way to describe how incredibly talented this author is.
How this story consumed me without mercy is beyond my comprehension. And let me tell you that “mercy” is the last thing you will get after Dr. Rebecca Sharp shows you how a love story should be write about.
This journey won’t be easy. I assure you that. But the beauty and the torment of this love story, of Troy and Leo’s story will be marked on your skin the same way the morning sun spreads it rays all over us.
I loved the characters. Their pain, their happiness, their loses, their triumphs and the way they portrayed love. How simple it is to pronounce that word. And how complex it becomes to encapsulate that feeling even knowing that pain is part of it.
Troy with all her flaws was strong enough to come back from the ashes like the true Phoenix she is. But finding Leo gave her the push she needed to understand that you can’t live your life for others. You can’t sacrifice yourself in order to please others and thus lose your essence. You can FIGHT for what you truly want and keep fighting until you get it. This is by far, one of my favorite messages this unique author gives us in her book.
Oh but Leo. Leo is just something I can’t even describe with mere words. So broken and so beautiful at the same time, that just by thinking about his name the imminent chills start to emerge without plans to stop.
Drowning in a sea of mistakes and an unfinished relationship, Leo will show us that if you allow yourself to heal, you can move on even if it’s little by little. Even if you have to break the rules in other to find a taste of happiness.
I won’t go into details about the story. You may see a clue on the blurb but trust me, NOTHING, and I repeat, NOTHING will prepare you for The Fall of Troy. And I honestly don’t believe you will be able to come out of this fantastic and extraordinary story, unharmed and begging for more. But the sweet agony will be pleasant.
“In the storms, we find the nourishment to grow.
In the dark of night, we stand in awe of the beauty of the dawn.
In the pain, we appreciate finding peace.
In sadness, we realize the full potential of true happiness.”
Book one of The Odyssey Duet
“In the things we loathe become the things we love….”
I think my IQ just jumped about 50 points after reading this! Seriously this story reads like a Greek epic poem.
The Fall of Troy is lush in its anger and its sorrow. This story needs to be read slowly and really savored. You are really going to feel the emotions of the characters bleed from the page.
The reasons for Troian’s change in her life plan is going to rock you and I found myself questioning what my reaction would be. I could totally empathize with Troian’s plight and what made her uproot her whole world.
Léo’s anger and rage just screamed at me when I was reading it. His purgatory is just as harsh as Troian’s and I could so see why they would be drawn to each other.
Troian and Léo’s story is complicated. So complicated and yet so honest. The anger and scars that both of these characters have is going to leave a mark on you.
This isn’t a hearts and flowers kind of romance, this is gritty and raw. This is truly a story of love and hate. Get ready for an epic read in this story! I cannot wait for the second book in this duet!
“I would fight my attraction to her. I would fight my desire. I would even fight my need to possess her pain. But if I wasn’t careful, Troy would be the battle to bring me to my knees.”
Damn! I sure picked a good story to pop my Dr. Rebecca Sharp cherry. I’m not sure how she managed to stay off of my radar up until now, but that won’t be a problem going forward. #FanGirlAlert
Broken characters are my crack. I love reading stories where they seem to be damaged beyond redemption and end up finding a reason to hope again. Where they find the missing pieces to their broken selves in someone else. Of course, there’s always the risk that they’ll kill each other first, but that’s half the fun, right? “He was cruel. I was crazy. Our ending would be tragic.”
The author is a word wizard, she cast a spell on me with her words. If interrupted while reading I was unable to function, my mind a mess until I could get back to the book. And now…I’m hopeless because it’s a duet and my heart won’t resume its rhythm until I get my hands on The Judgement of Paris, the final book in The Odyssey Duet. Please, please, please let them be released in audio so I can hear that sexy French accent out loud…sigh. The line forms here…
Ohhh my gahhh…..

OMG freaking LOVED this book!!
The Fall of Troy was my first read by Dr. Rebecca Sharp and without a doubt I’ll be coming back for more!!
I was intoxicated by her words as they seeped and bled into my pores and I became drunk on them, yearning for more, for the next drop.
I was drowning and swirling in the depths of raw emotions, angst, anger, hurt and passion.
I loved how the story wasn’t rushed but it was meticulous build, a slow burn so all consuming with beautifully crafted, poetic words
This book will set your soul and Kindle on fire with the undeniable hot steamy, scorching scenes and achingly beautiful words that will forever be etched in my mind.
“‘ … … , , .”
I also absolutely loved Léo Baudin and his sexy filthy french talking mouth. Mon Dieu!!
I simply cannot wait for the conclusion to this duet!!
The Fall of Troy is everything you expect from Dr. Rebecca Sharp and more! The drama, the explosive chemistry, the dark intrigue, the passion, hate and love are all tied together within Troy and Leo, and it is utterly perfection.
I usually can’t stand the student/teacher romance trope, but in this case, there’s no choice but to love it. Troy and Leo are both incredibly flawed individuals, that despite the attraction they feel towards one another, they fight tooth and nail to ignore. Until they just can’t anymore.
Y’all need to read this book. The cliffhanger at the end had me SHOOK, but it also made me desperate for the next installment. An incredible novel from an incredible author, you won’t regret this read!
** I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review.**
What an emotional tense ride! What lovely, tragic characters! Leo and Troy are each battling their pasts and fighting for some normalcy in their future. Their connection is immediate and extraordinarily intense. I can’t wait to see how this heartbreaking love story pans out. Fantastic first read by this author and I will definitely keep coming back! Plus, look at that phenomenal cover!! 5 falling stars for The Fall of Troy.
4*
Troian/Troy has no option but to move in with her mum & boyfriend after her father’s betrayal.
Leo has transferred to his friend Jack’s college to teach Art he’s still trying to get over the hurt and betrayal from his wife Amelie.
Two broken souls who clash together can he resist the pull? can she tame the lion?
“It gets harder …. it gets stronger to ignore “
“Without it, it feels like I’m dying”
Strong powerful emotions within the book that draw you into the story.
No what an ending – I need more ASAP!
The story continues in “The Judgement of Paris” which I desperately need.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
Wow, I have no words.
Oh, wait,… I DO.. and it’s FUCK,… HOLY FUCK FUCK. This was insane, and it was insanely fucking hot. HOT HOT HOT… It basically melted from my hands as I read it. Did I mention how hot it was? WOW! Like seriously, I didn’t need my ovaries anyway. They’ve just gone and combusted. Thank you, Ms. Sharp. Woah….
This is my first book by Ms. Sharp and it will not be my last. It was phenomenal, and her writing style is amazing.
This was different, I read the blurb and was intrigued straight away but I was not expecting this. I wish I could dive deeper into this but I don’t want to give too much away. It’s one of those books that even the tiniest bit of information could spoil it. Just go into this blind and whatever you are expecting, times that by ten.. And you won’t come close to how amazing this was. I am a sucker for a forbidden romance and this student/teacher romance is everything and MORE that I love about them. The heat between the two main characters, the lust, the sex, the forbidden, the push and pull,… It was intense, to say the least, and it had me hooked from page one right through to the end, and I am so eager to read book 2 of this epic duet. Like I said this was my first book by this author and it will not be my last!! truly epic!
Seriously. GO BUY THE BOOK.
5 hot as hell stars!
I’m shaking. I’m gasping for air. This book, the feelings, the emotions! Gah, it was everything!
Troy and Leo were both so angry – at their life, what they’d been dealt, at themselves. I could feel that anger as I read. It consumed me as much as it consumed them. But it was twisted and wrong as much as it was right. That anger was covering deeper emotions that were slowly unveiled like sifting sand.
I loved how strong Troy was. I loved the crude, rude Frenchman. Their chemistry was amazing, they way they fought each other as much as they fought themselves.
And I’m dying right now, needing the rest of this story. I need to see this battle to the end.
Sacre bleu! I am emotionally wrung out.
“Aux objets répugnants nous trouvons des appas.” In the things we loathe become the things we love.
And, oh, did I hate this book! From beginning to end was an emotional roller-coaster the likes of which I have never experienced before. From the highest of highs to the lowest of lows, this author punished me with the passion and the devastation between Leo and Troian but that is exactly why I also LOVE this book!
Their journey to be together is hard but it is there’s. They fight each other as much as they fight for each other. I’m ablaze with all the feels this book instilled in me.
“That’s why I had to break you, ma petite. You weren’t made for this; I broke you so that you’d be made for me.”
With a new direction and new locale, Troy starts anew after a devastating betrayal and a brutal kick to her self esteem.
When she meets her teacher Leo, it’s immediate hate. Their tempers blaze. It doesn’t take them long however to realize they are kindred souls. Both deeply hurting and in need of salvation. That doesn’t mean love comes easy. Hate-to-love is more apt. The more they fight, the more the passion overflows and soon it’s hard to tell if they are fighting against each other or for each other.
Will Troy’s love finally be enough and will Leo ever be ready to accept?
The Fall of Troy is a taboo teacher/student romance that is also a hate-to-love.
From the beginning I was enthralled and it did not let up until the very end.
The characters and the feelings they inspired are vivid.
Leo Beaudin is the new book boyfriend that I love to hate and that I hate to love! Sigh
Dr. Rebecca Sharp has ripped out my heart and has yet to give it back. For that, I must wait for the second book in the duet. In the meantime, I am nothing short of bereft.
I received an ARC of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
The Trojan War was fought over a woman. The Fall of Troy begins with the destruction of a woman and ends in a different kind of destruction. Beginning with a betrayal she never saw coming and ending with a loss so great…
The Fall of Troy isn’t the ending though. It ends as an intermission so to speak before the next act. I’m dying for the continuation of this epic tale. My thoughts, feelings, and desires reside with Troy’s. It’s easy to get swept up in the emotions in this book. The pain and sadness ooze from the pages. The gorgeously haunting poetry adds a shocking depth to the despair. A focal point for pain and longing.
I also have to admit that being an accent whore makes it so much harder to fight my own personal attraction to Léo. I, as a young impressionable girl, took French for years in the hope of meeting a gorgeous Frenchman who would fall in love with me and be unable to live without me. Clearly, my priorities changed but I had the time of my life translating Léo’s thoughts and words. Often getting excited when I got it right or was able to peice it together before the translation. (Its the little things in life!)
All this is to distract myself from the knowledge that now we wait. We wait for answers. We wait for the pain. We wait for the consequences. We wait for the fight of their lives…hopefully.
Reviewed for Sweet Spot Sisterhood
It didn’t make it better. But he acknowledged me. He saw me through the things that I’d done…and isn’t that what we all want in life? To be seen…to be heard….to be loved…in our moments of greatest weakness. To know that we are not alone.
The Fall of Troy. I’m trying to come up with the words to describe my thoughts on this book and all I can think of is “BRILLIANT”.
There’s a fine line that taboo romances tiptoe. It can sometimes feel too cheesy or too “80’s porno dialogue” and this book never ever felt like that. This was one of the best professor/student romances I think I’ve ever read. It dealt with some heavy issues and handled them well while also building this forbidden relationship with our two main characters.
I will say that it took a while for me to get into this book and it seemed a little slow. But then I stumbled upon the audiobook on Scribd and once I started listening I literally couldn’t stop. The narrators were perfect. I hate it when a character is supposed to have an accent but the narrator doesn’t add one. This was perfect. We as listeners got the full fledged dirty talking French professor in all his glory and I was living for it!
“I would fuck you until I broke you.” His head came closer to mine and it felt like his mouth brushed back and forth over my lips with each of the following words. “And then I would keep fucking you until there was nothing left—nothing but dust to blow away in the wind.”
I annotated the crap out of this book. The writing was incredibly beautiful and flowed so nicely. This was my first Rebecca Sharp book and it wont be my last. In fact I bought the second book while reading this one and it should be here any day now.
Now let me talk about Kevin for a minute. Kevin is the almost insta gay best friend to our girl Troy. He brought some very much needed comedic relief and overall humor to the book which can feel heavy at times. And I don’t mean heavy in a bad way. The book starts off with Troy at the lowest point in her life and the rest of the book is her recovering and finding out who she wants to be so it can get pretty intense. Kevin is always there to make me smile and at one point laugh until I had tears pouring down my face.
I recommend this book to you if you:
-like forbiddden/taboo romances
-like student/teacher romances
-like age gap romances
-like raunchy, change your panties afterwards sex scenes
Overall rating: 5 stars
Steaminess: 5 stars
I am blown away!! This is the first book in a new duet from this truly gifted author, and I was totally captivated throughout this addictive enemies / lovers, forbidden romance, page turner. Troy is a damaged student who has been forced to start her life over in a new town. Leo who is just as damages, is her new art professor. This is a beautifully written masterpiece which is raw, gritty, emotional, passionate, and heartbreaking with a tad angst thrown into the mix. I cannot wait to read the second part of this phenomenal story, and I recommend for all.
The Fall of Troy is the first book to Dr. Rebecca Sharp’s Odessey Duet, and I must say this book was hard to put down. I was not expecting some of the scenes in this book. Be prepared for some steamy scenes between the two protagonists. You may need to take a cold shower after reading this book.
At first, the book starts off with the female protagonist, Troian (Troy for short) finding out something that changes her life. By changes her life, I mean moving to a different state, attending a new school, and leaving behind everything she worked for when she was living with her father. The poor girl has not had it easy, and she is going to uproot and change everything to get over what happened at her father’s house hopefully. Unfortunately, it’s not going to be easy since she is forced to see a therapist and then ends up falling for someone she shouldn’t in her life.
This book is a forbidden romance with student/teacher trope, and there is a significant age gap between the characters, but it’s never detailed. (I love age gap romances, so it doesn’t bother me.) The sexy teacher in this book is Troy’s enemy since he has some issues of his own in this book. I didn’t like his character at first in this book because of how he treated Troy. He has some severe anger issues, and he takes it out on everyone. He has his reasons, though, and readers will find out when reading this book. Léo Baudin is teaching thanks to his friend temporarily, but he never expects to fall for one of his students. He does everything to scare her off, and there’s even one scene where Troy finds herself in a weird situation that involves the professor.
There will be some very uncomfortable moments in the book that some readers may not like in the book. Some readers though, may enjoy those scenes. Let’s say Léo doesn’t make it easy for Troy in this book. There is a lot of tension and angst between these two characters that may drive readers crazy. The very ending of the book I knew was coming, but I still was ticked off how Léo handled it.
This book needs to be read before reading The Judgment of Paris since this a Duet. You will want to read this book. Trust me. If you don’t you will miss out on the first meetings with the characters and the secondary characters in this book.
The Fall of Troy is the first book I read by Dr. Rebecca Sharp and will definitely not be my last. I enjoyed her writing style and I loved how she kept me on the edge of my seat with this book. Yes, the male protagonist drove me crazy, but so did Troy with how she handled certain situations too. I look forward to reading the next book, so I can find out what is going to happen next. I hope there is a HEA and it’s one that I’m hoping for with the characters. Troy deserves happiness.

Tropes/Elements: Enemies-to-Lovers; Professor/Student Relationship
Hero: Professor; Heartbroken/Damaged; Angry
Heroine: College Student; Broken/Damaged
The Fall of Troy is book one of The Odyssey Duet. It is a taboo teacher/student romance that is also a enemies to lovers. This is Leo and Troy’s story. From beginning to end it was an emotional roller-coaster.
Professor Leo Baudin has basically been exiled out of Paris, after throwing a chisel at a student didn’t bode well hence why he’s currently filling in at Rhode Island. A man cloaked in darkness not able to let go of his past, not able to move forward, life is at a standstill.
Eighteen year old freshman Troian Milanovic aka ‘Troy’ starts anew after a devastating betrayal and a brutal kick to her self esteem. Being a semester behind her fellow students she’s starting over fresh at Rhode Island School of Design. She’s not here to make friends. She’s here to buckle down and prove to her parents even though they are divorced that she is worthy.
Their journey to be together is hard but it is there’s. They fight each other as much as they fight for each other. This isn’t a hearts and flowers kind of romance, this is gritty and raw. This is truly a story of love and hate. I cannot wait for the second book in this duet!
I received an advance copy of this book. I am voluntarily giving my honest review, and I plan to buy this book when it becomes available.
This novel is written with such precision and intelligence, and not just for its category or trope. This is, beyond a shadow of a doubt, one of those stories that will surely evoke intense reactions out of readers because the development and overall skill of craft displayed here is just something very seldom seen in the romance genre. I’ve never read this author before but I would venture to guess that she’s a very well read woman based on the way she describes, emotes and molds her characters. Her writing speaks for itself, it bleeds poetic intensity
The storyline would suggest that it belongs in a taboo trope, and technically that might be true. Honestly, it’s hard to tell because the book is just so well developed and tied up that it’s difficult to see anything other than what the author has pointed you towards. Lucky for us, the focus was not entirely on the taboo aspect of this story. No, the plot centered around two broken souls who were drowning in their own sorrow until they collided and decided to tether themselves to one another. It’s both breathtaking and frightening how fast the sinking begins, the characters infatuation and gradual slide into chaos is beyond fascinating. It’s enthralling. Apart they’re wrecks, but together they’re mutually assured destruction. It’s beyond beautiful to read about.
This book might be extremely well read and insightful, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t hot enough to make your e-reader burst into flames. On a scale of one to lava, this story is molten. Some of the more intimate scenes made me downright gleeful, especially the ones wrapped up in the thrill of the ‘forbidden’ and ‘wrongness’ of what they were doing. It’s just… HOT. Like, hot enough to encourage my sleep deprived reader brain to order new ‘toys’ late at night to try and alleviate my insane infatuation with all things Leo. Fun fact, it didn’t. It didn’t help, at all. He’s as much under my skin as he is under Troian’s. Merde.
If you’re looking for a story that’s both intelligent and passionate, this is for you. It quietly claims pieces of your sanity along the journey to the tumultuous ending. I adored Troy’s inevitable fall and even though this ending wrecked me and left me bereft with the NEED to know what’s happening next… I would still recommend this gem to all smart romance lovers.
5 BEAUTIFUL INTENSE STARS!! What a beautiful intense story that I could not put down. Leo and Troy’s story is so intense…..these two are broken, but so beautiful together. I need the second book like now. This is my first book by this author and I need more of her words. This is one duet you must read, so download this book now.
What A Ride!
So I first fell in love with the cover of this book and said I have to read it! What a ride I was in for, the cover draws you, the actual story…kills you! This story is so intense!! It is about betrayal, emptiness, searching for love, deception, friends becoming enemies, teachers and students. It is a great read!! The French quotations and words add some fire to the pages and the story.
Now to wait for book 2 to be released!
Dr Rebecca Sharp has a new fan!
Whoo my gosh — this book was a trip! The Fall of Troy was beyond intense, just wow! I had seen a little snippet of it around Facebook Romancelandia and I’m pretty sure that it gave me chills just from that and then I read the synopsis and I was like, “Erm, I need to read this book as soon as possible!” And right from the get-go, The Fall of Troy sucked me in and held me hostage, I had to know what was going to happen to Troy and Léo. I couldn’t hold any part of myself back because their tale demanded my all and I am wholly invested in seeing everything work out eventually. This was spectacular and I loved, loved, loved it!
Even though I had seen a little sneak peak of this book that affected me, I was still unprepared for The Fall of Troy. I wasn’t expecting the high intensity and heat that Léo and Troy brought. They were absolute fire, fierce, and completely came alive on the pages. Their story punched me in the gut in the beginning and brought a lot of strong emotions all the way through. It broke my heart and brought tears to my eyes, it thoroughly entertained and amused me, and there were moments that awed me. There was such depth, power, and wisdom in The Fall of Troy — there was just so much meaning to it. Troy and Léo’s love truly feels epic and I can’t wait to read the conclusion to it!
