When Colin Cavendish, the new earl of Drayson, informs Lucy Beresford that she and her mother need to vacate the house they’ve called home for the past two years, Lucy is fit to be tied. They have no money, no relations they can turn to for help, and nowhere to go. How dare the earl break the promise his father had made to the Beresfords without so much as a twinge of conscience?Fate plays her … plays her hand when Lucy discovers the earl unconscious and injured in the middle of the road. When he awakens with no recollection of who he is, Lucy seizes the opportunity to teach the earl a much-needed lesson in humility and tells him that he is nothing more than a mere servant. Her servant, in fact.
And thus begins the charming tale of a pompous lord and an impetuous young woman, caught together in a web so tangled that it begs the question: Will they ever get out?

His Fall Was Her Temptation
Arrogant and clipped, Lord Drayson minced no words when he told Miss B that she and her mother would need to vacate the dower house within two months. To say there was enmity between them would have been an understatement. What happened next is the whimsical tale of The Fall of Lord Drayson by Rachael Anderson.
I really liked this sweet Regency romance. It was well written with very likable primary and secondary characters. The dialogue was clever and witty, and the scenes had just the right amount of dramatic angst. The timing was well paced, and even the happy ending of this stand-alone novel was satisfying and smile-worthy.
Content: Although there is some non-detailed passionate kissing, this book (in my opinion) is clean and suitable for any age reader.
I enjoyed the story and just finished the next book in the series. Looking forward to reading more from this author.
I enjoyed this book very much.
Engaging characters and story line. I especially appreciate that it is a ‘clean’ story. It seems that way too many historical romances throw in steamy sex scenes that do nothing to advance the actual story.
This is a book by a new-to-me author, Rachael Anderson. I truly enjoyed this book, at times a little aggravated with the H/h both. I was drawn into the story from the very beginning. If I were faced with the situation our heroine, Lucy Beresford, was faced with, I would probably do the same thing she did.
Lucy and her widowed mother were granted permission to live in the dower house on Tanglewood Manor by the owner. However, when the owner died, his son decided to sell the place and the Beresfords would have to leave. He was giving them a month to pack up and leave. His steward refused to be the one to give the ladies the bad news, so the new Lord Drayson agreed to do it himself. What ensued is something you will have to find out for yourself by getting your hands on the book.
I know I will be reading the rest of this series and probably many other books by Rachael Anderson in the future. If you like clean historical romance, you will love this one. Check it out for yourself and Enjoy!

A delightful and humorous historical romance! Love the interplay between Lucy and Colin.
Loved the series
I thought the idea for this was very clever. Plus the writing is easy to read – no stopping to reread something for comprehesion. As a bonus, I loved the cover.
Kept me entertain
Loved the book. The premise is a little preposterous, but I did laugh out loud in a few parts. This was a great read!!!
Really enjoyed!!
I thought it was so funny when Lucy found Lord Drayson unconscious and she tells him that he is her servant and all together helper. He is such a snooty man it is just wonderful how she handles the whole thing. I just loved i. BC
