Wedding fever has hit the little town of Marietta…
Lisa Renee loves weddings. As owner of Marietta’s bridal salon, Lisa takes charge when a celebrity wedding rolls into town and does what she does best: hosting the fairy tale wedding her clients dream of. But the celebrity’s badly behaving bridesmaids shatter Lisa’s poise, excitement, and hopes of putting Marietta and her boutique on the map. … boutique on the map. The only place she can find peace is on the pediatric ward of the local hospital where she volunteers, a place that holds more meaning to her than anyone knows. Leave it to the handsome and charming new doctor to change all of that…
Dr. Adam Brady is enjoying his new job and anonymity at Marietta’s hospital, but he hasn’t been able to focus entirely since the gorgeous business owner and hard-working volunteer piqued his interest. As he spends more time with her, sparks fly, and he realizes that he’s not the only one in Marietta with secrets…

Very short book but it was still a good read.
2.5 stars
I’ve made no secret that I download a lot of e-books when they’re on special or free. Especially when they’re free. I have found some amazing stories and authors this way. Sometimes things don’t pan out how I hope. Regardless, it’s a great way to experience new-to-me authors without a huge cash flow. My records show I obtained this book back in 2016 as a free download. Recently, when looking through some of the books I have from my go-to authors that I still haven’t been read, I noticed this is the first of a multi-author series that includes some of my favorite authors. So here we are.
This is a pretty short story, not much more than 100 pages. I always try to give some concessions to authors when they have such a small word count to work with. I expect there to be extreme inta-love and to miss out on any in-depth back story on the characters. I won’t compromise on chemistry and warm-fuzzies, though!
While I liked this story from the start, it never really hooked me. Both Lisa and Adam are extremely likable characters. Not just by the reader, but the whole town seems to like them both. When they first meet, I even feel some rumblings of their chemistry. Somewhere along the way that got lost for me. I still rooted for them to get together. That had more to do with the early chemistry, not the relationship they developed after getting intimate. It just didn’t flow properly.
I said I forgive extreme insta-love in short stories, but not when it’s not important to the story. I can wholeheartedly believe this couple fell in love. Yet, the way the story ends seems contrived and unnecessary at the time. Throw in the fact that there are some inconsistencies with little inconsequential things and I was a bit underwhelmed. I don’t know that I’ll seek out more of this author’s work, but I may give her a try again if I come across something that seems interesting.

I liked the story-line but felt it could have been developed more. For a short story it was good.
Great short story…loved it
Liked!
got pretty nauseous right away so I didn’t finish.
Predictable but loved the characters.
Just what a romance reader expects on a good love story
An enjoyabe romantic and fun read
Well written.
good and predictable
Author writes a great book.
It’s just right for break time, or just before bed!
Very sweet story. I love the small town environment where everyone knows everyone and they are like a tight knit family. This was simply a sweet romance that ends up exactly as a romantic would expect – happily ever after.
This book was a very good book to read thank you.
Good quick read
A sweet story I enjoyed it. Wish it was longer.
Entertaining and quick read.
Good book
wording was repetitious and the story and characters seemed very predictable
