Packed with spine-tingling intrigue and swoonworthy romance, the plot thickens in this YA fantasy sequel …
Guardian trainee Violet Fairdale is just weeks away from one of the most important occasions of her life: graduation. After messing up big time by bringing a human into the fae realm, Vi needs to step up her game and forget about Nate if she hopes to graduate as the top guardian of her … guardian of her year. Everything would be fine if she wasn’t forced to partner with Ryn, her ex-friend, ex-enemy, current ‘sort of friend.’ They might be trying to patch up their relationship, but does she really want to spend a week undercover with him for their final assignment? On top of that, the possibly insane Unseelie Prince is still on the loose, free to ‘collect’ as many specially talented faeries as he can find–and Vi is still at the top of his list. Add in faerie queens, enchanted storms, complicated not-just-friends feelings, and a murder within the Guild itself, and graduation is about to become the least of Vi’s problems.
Perfect for fans of Throne of Glass, Unenchanted, and Graceling.

Rachel Morgan is an amazing author knowing very well how to combine fantasy worlds with realistic characters and love stories that actually work quite well. I take everything back I thought during the first 100 pages of the first book about Insta Love and there not being any depth into this love story. Morgan managed to surprise me, truly surprise me.
And even though this book clearly was the middle book, moving the characters from A to B so they are all ready for the big finale, it was entertaining and amazingly well written and well built up. She really took the time to carve out the pieces of the puzzle and I have no doubt they will click in the next and last book of this trilogy.
It also helps that I really love Violet as a character. She’s fierce and bad ass. She can take care of herself and doesn’t (usually) need a prince charming swooping in to save her, but in this book we also got to see her more vulnerable side, we watch her making mistakes, learning and we watch the wall around her heart slowly crumbling down, even though she is far from ready to admit that fully. Yet. It makes her relatable, easy to connect with and easy to love and like.
And although a lot of this book consisted of her bonding with Ryn and learning to trust him again, there is also a gripping plot boiling beneath the surface and eventually exploding at the very end of the book. The finale was breathtaking, heartbreaking and incredibly impressive and I’m sure it’s just the first taste of what’s waiting for us in the last book.
I can’t wait to dive into that one and to read the end of Violet’s story!
A fun read!! Love the series…
Loved it. Can’t wait to read the next one.
This is the second book of the Creepy Hollow series. This book solidifies a good beginning. We follow Violet. Violet is in pain, but she is still a guardian trainee and is still successful in her quests. She is still feuding with Ryn, and even when she tries to put the feud on hold, they are still feuding. By the end of this book, many things will have changed, including the characters. Some of the things that happen in the action portion of the book feel like dirty pool to me, but this is how the author wrote it. Zell, the prince from the Unseelie Court, is still after Violet in the background, and we need to remember that as the story progresses. I enjoyed the new depth of the characters and the actions that happen, with or without their involvement. I think you will like this book.
The Faerie Prince is book two in Rachel Morgan’s Creepy Hollow series. This book continues on from where The Faerie Guardian, book one ends, it is recommended that TFG is read before reading this as there are characters and plot twists that will be missed.
After having her heart broken by Nate and a sort-of-friendship rebuilt with Ryn, Violet life is not as simple as she hoped. With graduation around the corner and her final assessment coming up, being the top of her class should have been the only thing on her mind. But with having discovered Zells dungeon with the other special Faeries being held captive and needing to hide from being taken by Zell, V’s got a lot on her plate.
This book was so freaking good, I enjoyed it so much more than book one. The action, suspense, bonds and drama that was going on was for a very addictive and enjoyable read. I read this book in one sitting it was that good. Violet continues to grow and with so many secrets and past that is revealed, her relationship with Ryn helps her get through it all. I love Ryn, even in book one when he was a total jerk to Violet I knew it was due to a deeper reason and knew he wasn’t that bad. In this book he grows on you so much more and he makes some epic swoon worthy scenes. Nate well I never did like him and this book is going to pull the rug from under a few people that thought he was a good guy.
I’m hoping that Ryn is able to find and help Violet in the next book cause she is very lost right now.
Wow! I thoroughly enjoyed this story. The red herrings were superb – I knew who it was, yet there were viable suspects, too. And yeah, The Kiss was spectacular.
I like how Vi’s relationships grow as she grows. I like the secrets that have been kept for decades and are now revealed – and the way it affects Vi. I also like how her decisions affects the world around her.
Mm, Zell was quite effective as the bad guy without appearing on the page as much as in the previous book. Great twist! And the title reveals so much without one realising it until near the end.
Great worldbuilding. Great drama. Love the magic. And the end…! Can’t wait to read the next book.
Good book to pass the time
Great for the YA reader.
Very well written with engaging characters.
I did not like this one
If you want action, adventure, battles, and love then do read these well written books that take you to a magical world.
I love this series! Fae meet modernity – witty, full of action, drama, character, and attitude. Read this series. Yes. Do that.
Couldn’t hold my interest
Well written. Fun read.
Fun
I LOVED this story! I might be 58 years old, but I will always enjoy a good fairy tale!
Didn’t even finish this book. Starts out with her meeting her father. The story was just not there for me.
I liked it, but I didn’t love it. To be honest, if book 2 hadn’t been free, I may have stopped with this book. However, I just bought book 3 because book 2 was better than this one. I think the writing and world building get better with each book. In fact, I need to end this review so I can get back to reading book 3.
AN AMAZING book. I felt like I was transported to the land of faery with Violet and the other characters. The characters were incredible, VERY in depth.
Quite hard to follow and rather boring so it made me not want to try. Sorry.
