I need to learn how to control my new magic—before it gets me killed. As the first ever Faerie Games player gifted with magic from the king of the gods—Jupiter—all eyes are on me. Especially since I won the first competition of the Games. Now I need to send three other players to fight in the Coliseum until one of them is dead. The two that survive will be gunning for me later. So I need to choose … later. So I need to choose my alliances carefully. And as much as I hate to admit it, the magnetically attractive Julian is tempting me to work with him moving forward.
I should hate Julian, since he kidnapped me to the Otherworld in the first place. But he’s helping me learn how to control my new magic. And I’m drawn to him on a level I don’t understand.
One player will win the Faerie Games and survive. The rest will die.
I need to win. If that means getting close to Julian… then that’s exactly what I’m going to do.

******** May Contain Some Spoilers ********
I will try my absolute best to keep spoilers to a minimum or completely out of my review. Sometimes it can be hard to do so.
I thought Michelle couldn’t top book 1 of this series. I was wrong in the best way possible. Michelle stepped up it up in book 2. Selena does her best given her situation. Things don’t go as planned in the arena. Two of the three champions Selena chose betrayed her. That puts herself, Julian, Cassia, and Bridget in jeopardy. I’m gonna get this off my chest. I CANNOT stand Octavia. She is one of those mean girls we have come across in our lives. I hope Selena knocks her off her high horse .
Torrence is doing everything she can to help rescue Selena. Torrence is sent on a quest with Thomas, Sage, and Randall. They are trying to find a way into the Otherworld. This ends in a cliffhanger involving Lilith and Lavinia. Those two were also in Dark World: The Angel Trials series. That little cliffhanger and twist has me going nuts for book three.
•••••• I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this book/series! ••••••

Wow this is a great second book! The story continues to grow and develop as do the characters in this fantastic world that has been built by the author. There’s action, twists and turns, a little romance and I cannot wait to see what happens in the next book!
This is the second book in the Faerie Games series and we get a closer look at Selena’s participation in the Games. It’s certainly interesting to read about each participant and their special magic powers, gifted to them by the Gods who chose them.
We also get to follow Torrence as she assists in the search for Selena, alongside a select few others. These characters were really special, and they each have their strengths (and weaknesses of course) and I can’t wait to read how they get on with their search to rescue Selena from the Otherworld.
Selena has at this point participarted in a few weeks of the Games. It’s really nerve wracking to see how Selena’s nemesis Octavia spins the game in her favour by pitting against Selena at every single chance. Looking forward to the next book!

The series just keeps getting better with each book. So much action, intrigue, secrets and betrayal happen in here. I love that as the story goes Selena is hoping her father and then Nephilim come to rescue her and her friends.
In the mean time her Father, best friend, mother and a few that have been let in on her secret try to figure out how to get to the Other world so they can rescue her. Exciting all the way I loved it.
Interesting story with many subplots. But, like the first, this is only part of a saga. The end left me unfulfilled. Michelle Madow is great at creating villainous allies. They are perhaps more interesting than the friends or villains in her stories.
I received a copy of this book as a gift. This is my honest review.
This is a marvellous series full of action and intrigue. Although Selena wasn’t in these games willingly, she knows that she has to make the best of it in the hopes that her parents will come for her. As the winner of the first competition she has to send three other champions to the arena where one will die. The other two will then be her enemies for sure. She has to strategise and hope that her choices will end with her in the last battle to be fought. She had to make an unbreakable alliance with at least two others, if not more. If she made the wrong choices – she was dead.
We are back in the Faerie Games. I like that we switch between worlds to see what is going on to find Selena. Another week passed and a fight to the death occurs at the Games. After that the games continue and of course Octavia wins the next round. There is a good balance with this book between what is happening in Faerie World and what is happening in Avalon and the rest of the worlds. If you love the first book you will enjoy this one just as much.
