Kirian and I were just twelve years old when I pulled him from the icy waters of the creek behind my house. As he looked in my direction with unseeing lavender eyes, I quickly realized our age was just about the only thing we had in common. He spoke with an accent, he had pointy ears, and he was so beautiful it made my heart ache. Oh, and he claimed to be a fae prince cursed by witches who stole … stole his sight.
I thought he was crazy from hypothermia. Turns out, he wasn’t, and for some reason he keeps coming back. But a day in my world is a year in his. Every time I see him, he’s older. Wiser. Hotter.
Over the past six years, I’ve tried not to fall in love with him because the terms of the curse are clear: If he doesn’t wait for his fated mate in all ways, including an innocent (or not-so-innocent) kiss, he’ll be blind forever.
So when Kirian kisses me and pulls me through the portal to his realm, I make it my mission to do some damage control. It’d be a whole lot easier if he wasn’t determined to marry me… And if someone wasn’t trying to murder me every step of the way.
The Fae King’s Curse is a full-length novel with no cliffhanger. You don’t have to read the prequel to enjoy this story, as it is about a different couple. But if you want more of this world and to see how Kirian’s parents fell in love, Between Dawn and Dusk is just $0.99 or free with Kindle Unlimited.

The Fae King’s Curse was great. I thoroughly enjoyed this high fantasy read and am fully invested in where the series takes us next! This book picks up where Between Dawn and Dusk left off. As the first born royal heir, Kirian has been cursed to lose his sight until he finds his fated mate. While using a magical portal he visits Earth and stumbles upon Quinn, a sweet girl full of heart and love. They build a wonderful relationship out of friendship which slowly turns to love. I absolutely LOVED the premise of this book, that Kirian can’t see Quinn at all. This allowed them to grow close in the sweetest, most romantic way. While this is definitely a romance novel there is also suspense, action, and political betrayal. We are also introduced to other cursed princes from the Fae Realm. The set up for future books in the series was great and I definitely want to see what happens next!
I loveeddd this book!!!!
This was a little of a slow burn but sooooo worth it.
This was truly a sweet star crossed love that
beat all the odds.
The love and devotion between Kirian and Quinn was
really sweet, even before they realized that they were
meant to be together.
I really hope she continues with the rest
of the characters stories, it left me wanting more.
exceptionally great read
Wow. Just wow. I truly enjoyed this story. It’s been some years since I read a PNR, and in fact I’m more of an urban fantasy fan. But this story was written so well, this story is such a grand adventure. The moment you start reading you’re pulled into the story, I had to resist reading it to quickly.
I don’t want to give too much of this story away, but, the world where the Far King’s Curse takes place is written with such vivid description, I kind of felt like I was reading Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings again, and that’s a magical reading experience that, as a reader, we cherish. I was so emerged in this world and could so easily picture what was described it magnified the story for me. I’m waiting anxiously for the next book in this series.
This was a wonderful adventure! Fast-paced, full of humour, and with a love story that would melt your hard. I loved every page of The King’s Curse.
The writing style is smooth and easy to read, I was lost in this book from the very first chapter.
Kirian is a sexy, confident king with an intriguing curse that he had been dealing with for thousands of years. To break the curse, he needs to find his true mate, but he falls in love with a human woman instead…
Quinn is my favourite kind of a female character. Awkward and misunderstood in the human world, she proves smart and strong enough to survive the intrigues and dangers of the new-to her world of faeries.
The secondary characters are also exceptionally well done. I’m looking forward reading their stories.
Thank you, Jamie Schlosser for taking me on this adventure. It truly was a magical ride.
Exquisite!
I’m not super familiar with paranormal books, so I wasn’t sure what to expect from this book! But I was enthralled from the first page, though! Wonderful characters, quick pacing, fascinating setting. I loved everything about this beautifully nuanced read!
“Wow! This book was simply amazing!! After reading Between Dawn and Dusk I knew I needed to read The Fae King’s Curse and what an incredible story I’ve just read. I’m out of words because seriously this story was so perfect that I can’t begin to explain it. Kirian and Quinn curse and love story completely trapped me. All the feels were… wow. Kirian, my love for him kept growing. He was a hero and love Quinn way before she actually know him. It was a fantastic and unique story with fantasy and a great world building. You must experience the Fae world, trust me!”
I love that Jamie has ventured into Fantasy! She has a talent for it! This story follows Kirian and Quinn! I love everything about these two and their journey. It is one of the most romantic fated mates stories or read, and I read a lot of them It has action, mystery, family, love, and a whole lot of steam!!! I’m excited for the next one
I was so curious about this series as it is a paranormal and a new genre for Jamie to write. I loved getting a glimpse of this new world in the prequel, Between Dawn and Dusk. The Fae King’s Curse is the first full length novel in the series. I felt such a connectivity to the characters from the very beginning. Quinn and Kirian were just two young kids meeting and sharing a friendship for years. It felt as if I was riding along during the adventure with how descriptive and captivating the Night Realm was written. Such a light and fun tale with so many twists and turns. I cannot wait to get more from this series.
Book 2 in the new series by Jamie Schlosser and I was sooooo excited to get started reading. The storyline is captivating and I find myself reading each book almost from start to finish. I love a good PNR book and was worried that with the change in direction I might be disappointed but NO that was not the case. Jamie Schlosser has nailed this genre. I am excited to read more and highly recommend anyone who likes PNR to give this series a read.
Kirian the young little Prince lost his sight to the curse of all the Kingdoms first borns!
But fate and curses go hand in hand.
At 12 years old Kirian was just passing through the human realm in search of a plant that would make his mother’s favorite wine, but in the moment in time it changed everything for Kirian and Quinn the girl that was always rejected by her own people.
Love and fate is truly magical in every sense of the word even when love and fate don’t even make sense it just simply is and it was exactly just like that for Quinn and Kirian love just was even before they knew that it was their fate!
A beautiful magical story by Jamie Schlosser and I’m looking forward to the other King’s stories
This world that Jamie has written is absolutely amazing!! I had never read any Fae books until the prequel of this one. And I could not wait for this to release!!
Kirian and Quinn meet by chance when they are 12. Quinn and Kirian learn about each other as the days pass for her and the years for him.
Quinn has no idea what to expect when she goes through the portal but she falls in love with this new realm. Kirian knows that he is taking a chance but he has such strong feelings for Quinn that the curse be d@#$Ed she is who he wants.
This book brought so many emotions!! The attention to detail for this world that was created is amazing! Jamie made a Fae reader out of me! I look forward to the next book! Hopefully sooner rather than later lol

This is officially my new favorite series. I love the premise and the characters, and I am really excited to see where the series goes next.
With Between Dawn and Dusk, Jamie Schlosser introduces us to a new fantasy series. A series about fate, destiny, witchcraft, plague, the Fae, and the mythical realms they inhabit.
BDD provides the backdrop for The Fae King’s Curse. We learn about the Fae, their realms, their feuds, and what it means to be fated.
The Fae King’s Curse opens with the first meeting between Quinn and Kirian, when she fishes him out of the creek. Both 12 years old, their connection is instant. As the days pass, their friendship grows. But a day for Quinn is a year for Kirian.
To break the curse that made him blind, Kirian must find his fated mate. But when faced with the possibility of losing Quinn, he kisses her and seals his fate. Pulling her into The Night Realm and vowing to marry her.
What follows is a story of love, friendship, fate, betrayal, and loyalty.
JS has created well-developed characters that drew me in from the very first page. Each character we are introduced to within the realms has a story. And with even a few simple lines, I was able to grasp the significance of each character’s background. I’m fascinated by the realms and their history. And I’m a big fan of Jamie’s usage of foreshadowing and symbolism to develop the story, build suspense, and unfold the narrative.
I’m very much looking forward to the next book in this series. I highly recommend.
FANTASTIC story! I love Kirian & Quinn! There’s energy & adventure in their story. I love the overall world this author has created & I’m SO looking forward to the next installment!
This is Kirian & Quinn’s story, but it’s also about the kingdom & its people. It’s about family & friendships, mercy & love & choosing to be on the right side of ruling. And, of course, there’s some steamy goodness and a beloved HEA! : )
The firstborn children of all Fae king are blind and can only regain their sight when they meets their fated mate, or soul mate. If they do much as kiss someone else, they will remain blind forever. Kirian, the prince of the Night Realm is no exception. Though he wishes he were as soon as he meets Quinn, a human girl who saves his life when he’s just a child.
Quinn is twelve when she meets Kirian, an odd boy she fishes out of the water. He promises to come back through the timed portal and see her the next day, but a day in the human world is a year for a Fae and she nearly doesn’t recognize him. This continues for years of daily meetings for her and centuries of yearly meetings for him until Quinn is eighteen.
Quinn’s loved him since childhood and fears one day he won’t appear in the woods near her house and he’ll be off with his true fated mate. Before she’s set to leave for college, she tells him she can’t meet him anymore. Loving him and knowing he will one day leave her forever kills her. Then, Kirian does the worst thing possible…he kisses her.
With one kiss, the pair is woven into a tapestry of curses, stardust, and fate.
This is what I was missing in Between Dawn and Dusk. I adore first meetings and Schlosser gave me a good one when a lavender eyed Fae prince and a small town girl in overalls met beside the river and felt sparks. The slow burn was perfect.
I love, love, loved this book and I’m not a huge fantasy romance fan, usually steering more towards the JRR Tolkien vein of elves and dwarves. But the way Quinn and Kirian’s relationship developed and the small quirks they each have had me swooning. I literally read it it one siting with a single break to make whipped coffee and turn on a light. It was funny and heartwarming, but steamy and dark all at the same time.
Congrats, Jamie Schlosser, you just created a fantasy romance fan.
Well, it’s official. I love Jamie Schlosser, no matter what genre she writes.
The Fae King’s Curse felt epic. It had so much going for it: immersive world building, interesting side characters, sweet and honest romance, witty dialogue, and vivid characterizations.
This was a slow burn, which isn’t unexpected when Kirian lives one year in his world compared to one day in Quinn’s. In fact, that’s one of the best parts of this story – Kirian essentially has two thousand years of getting to know and falling in love with Quinn.
The fae world and curse were interesting and added to the story without taking anything away from what’s most important – the relationship and romance of Quinn and Kirian.
Absolutely captivating and words can’t express how wonderful The Fae King’s Curse is.
4.5 Cranky Stars
All hail Queen Quinn! If only it was that easy though because many aren’t sold on the idea of a human queen including the current princess in the dark realm. Kirian just knows that Quinn is his mate fated or not. He has loved her since the moment he fell in that creek and she rescued him, but he had to buy his time because 1 day in her world is a year in his. When he finally gets her in his world, he learns that someone may not want Quinn for a queen and that triggers something in him that makes him furious and blood thirsty. You just don’t threaten a Kings love and expect to walk away. Quinn is still having doubts because her love for Kirian is so great, but she doesn’t want him stuck with the curse forever because he chose her. What happens next is a whirlwind adventure to find the long-lost witches, a trip into the shadowlands, and finally putting an end to this once and for all.
I really enjoy this series. I love how they just know they are mated and that there is no real fight on Quinn’s behalf about being in his world. Yes she will miss her parents but she has never felt like she fit in with the others. School was a hassle and she found solitude and happiness in the woods by her creek. I loved that Kirian stood up for her but also took her feelings and thoughts into consideration. He knew that running a kingdom would take them both not just him. My only real issue and it’s dumb I’m sure is that it reads at times like a YA then the sex scenes sound more like they are for someone older than our 17 year old Quinn. I know he is light years older than her in theory, but he is still very much young in the grand scheme of things. I love a good a sex scene don’t get me wrong but here it just feels off. Hey maybe that’s just me and I still loved the story regardless. I can’t wait for future books and it’s a good series to give me a break from all the normal human romance books.
Jamie Schlosser knocked this fae romance out of the park!
I absolutely adored this charming story with characters who captured my heart. A handsome fae king cursed by a spell, and a uniquely beautiful heroine whom he chooses to be his mate.
As I read the words, I was there. I swear I was. The superb storytelling of this author transported me to another place and time. To a world so vivid and colorful and oh so amazing. Everything was described perfectly with fascinating detail. I felt as if I was on the sidelines, feeling the heat from the fires, viewing the bright stars in the skies of the Night Realm, feeling the breeze from the flap of every wing.
The author weaves an enchanting story of magical lands with star dust and fae kings and magical spells and trolls and dark & eerie Shadowlands and adorable gnomes. Yes, gnomes! I want ALL the gnome hugs.
Kirian and Quinn met when they were 12 years old. He traveled through a portal once a year to the human realm. Even at their young age their chemistry was strong. I loved watching them bond over the years, feeling their love grow.
Once they got to Kirian’s world, the adventure began. There was magic and witches and suspense and love and passion and betrayal and loyalty…and more sexy fae kings.
I loved EVERYTHING about this book. I couldn’t love it any more if I tried. And I cannot wait for the other stories in this series!! The supporting characters were equally amazing. I’m just going to go ahead and claim Damon as MINE right now.
Oh my stars! Can I please get an express trip to the Night Realm? Anyone have any portals lying around? Jamie Schlosser builds up such an amazing and beautiful world, I can’t help but want to escape into it. Kirian and Quinn’s story is so beautiful and breathtaking. These two have a connection and relationship built on years and years of friendship. I loved how it all came about and how Jamie wove a fantasy like no other as well as a romance sweeter than honeysuckles. (I swear I’ll never think of them the same again)
Kirian is probably one of the most sweetest guys I’ve ever read or met. The care he puts into his kingdom and Quinn was amazing to see. He cared not for himself, but for Quinn and his people. Quinn’s transformation from an insecure young girl into a beautiful and *almost* confident woman was awe-inspiring. I loved seeing those stolen moments. Quinn and Kirian have a love like no other and I can’t wait to see Damon and Zander find their mates!
The Fae King’s Curse was a riveting adventure filled with romance, action, and beauty! I need more of Jamie Schlosser’s books!
What a fantastically unique book!!! It has everything. Fantasy, reality, intense chemistry, murder and kingdom takeover plots, and, of course, an amazing HEA!
The amazing world-building continues into this book (from Between Dawn and Dusk). I feel like I know exactly what Quinn’s forest, yard, treehouse, and field look like. I can feel the warm air in my hair. We get to visit various new places in the Fae world, and it was amazing; like we were on a voyage together.
Oh. These characters. Quinn is every girl who’s ever felt not pretty enough. Kirian is the cocky boy-prince turned compassionate ruler. The love they unknowingly have for each other is so real you can feel it yourself. And the way Kirian speaks to Quinn is the way every woman wants to be spoken to. <3
The side characters are amazing, as well!! I’m in love with the gnomes and their babies. <3 The other princes - oh, I can’t wait to hear their stories!
This plot is so unique! I love the aspect of time being different in our world versus the Fae world. There’s some mystery running through a good portion of the book, and I don’t want to give anything away. I felt like I was on the outside with inside information, wondering why they didn’t see what I did! It was so fun when they finally figured everything out!! Oh, but the other twists and turns! Will they end up together? Will they end up dead? And there is humor woven throughout the book, as well. There’s really something for everyone.
This is a fae-human love story - a king who must choose between his curse and his love (and let’s talk about the SWOONY things he says to her!). This is the story of a self-conscious human girl trying to become a confident Fae queen (without being murdered). This is the story of power-hungry relatives, and kingdoms in unrest trying to be united in peace. There is mystery, there is surprise, there is battle, and there is an epic love story. I cannot wait for the next book in the series!!!
