A truly heartbreaking book. I loved the relationships between the characters and the storyline was amazing. I truly felt every single feel for these main characters. All the time I wished nothing but good things for them. There was also a few laugh out loud moments too. An emotional little goldmine.
I really felt for Dannie. Her family life is pretty horrible and what happened to her was awful. I just wished that she would have reached out to someone but I get why she didn’t. This is not a light read so precede with caution.
The Face You See
Amelia Legend has nailed this book. It is truly gripping story of Danielle Lee coming up in a house of abuse in many forms. This book will show you the ugly but more importantly how someone who think they are broken can begin moving forward with their life to find purpose.
This book is about a girl that struggles with her family and is abused in several ways. I just want to reach out and hug her and make her life easier. The Nick situation was just enough around to perfectly slide into the story as a tipping point. Greatly written to pull emotions
Wow, wow, wow. This is my first book by this author and it definitely will not be my last. What an amazing book that highlights topics that most shy away from. I loved every single minute of this book and once I started reading I could not put it down. Absolutely amazing book and highly recommended. I cannot wait for part 2 of this book.
This book has a lot in it. Dannie or Danielle is a young girl in high school with lots of secrets that she has hidden. Wear mask to get through a normal teenage girl with a fake smile isn’t easy. When your ex calls you horrible names and your family isn’t great and causes harm to you physically and mentally. Dannie doesn’t want anything from a man. Just a friendship that’s all she can handle. When Reed comes into her life and makes her breath easier and see that there are those great friends there for you when you need them. Till you think everything is your fault and you can’t let it taint those you care about you choose to be alone so no one is affected by what’s been done to you. Dannie needs to find herself and closes herself off from everyone when more damages done to her. Instead of speaking about it she closes herself in and runs away to make everyone clean but her.
Going into this book I was devastated by Dannie’s story and how her mom treated her and even her boyfriend Jett! This poor girl couldn’t catch a break! Than this new guy comes in her life and she’s swoon will she open up to him! There’s also another guy nick I really didn’t care for him he gave me a stalker vibe! Beautiful story can’t wait to read more
Dannie tries to go through the emotional high school years as she tries to overcome her past relationships with her abusive mother and stepfather and ex. She also tries to make sense with her feelings for Reed. Sometimes love isn’t enough to overcome the scars we have. Emotional read
