Something terrible happened with Wyatt and Walker and another boy when they were young and the tragedy has been following them to another tragedy that changed everything again that puts an ancient warrior in their path which changes everything in the future for them and the woman that one loves the other abuses.
Chance has been in love with Wyatt since she was a little girl and then when she was old enough to know what she wanted she has not been able to forget the man she loves even though she really doesn’t know that man. But with her love and his families love they may get through this crisis. Great characters, enjoyed the story line enormously. I purchased this book. I am providing an honest review.
The complexity of Chance, Wyatt, and Walker’s story, is one that readers of many genres will not want to miss. As you read their story, you may think you have it figured out, but nothing is as it seems. Just when you think the storyline will go one way, Ciana Stone throws in an about face that the reader will never see coming. The story is so compelling and engaging, it keeps the reader wanting more. I have read many Ciana Stone books, and I was completely dumbfounded with the unexpected reveals that just kept coming. For readers of suspense, twisted storylines, some romance, and a story that is a real page turner, “The Face You Fear” is a story that is like no other. **I was gifted “The Face You Fear” and leave my review voluntarily and based on my reading** 5 Stars!

An exciting mystery and romantic suspense with a touch of the paranormal as Wyatt Wolfe, Native American Navy SEAL, is home to recover from his last mission. His town is run by the privileged Hollings family, who make it clear that they dislike the Native American population. After receiving a strange call from Wyatt, Chance Davenport, a producer with CNN and childhood friend, returns to town. She sees the escalation of hostility, brought on by the proposed building of a casino, and knows that there is a story to report. Will Chance be able to help Wyatt control his feelings of rage when he sees the injustice done to his friends? Can Wyatt get justice for the murder of his mother from so many years ago? A complex story, but Ms. Stone guides the reader along to the very satisfying conclusion. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation from the author. (by paytonpuppy)
This is a fascinating, compelling and complex tale. It delves deeply into the machinations of a few entitled prominent white men against the local native Indian community. It involves acts of violence, duplicity, revenge and greed for power beyond that of mortal man. Wyatt Wolfe is struggling to come to grips with a duality of his nature which he has only recently recognized but fails to completely understand – yet. Chance Davenport grew up in an entitled world, hating it as much as she loved the boy she grew up with.
While Wyatt and Chance are fighting to understand and overcome the hurts of the past, they’re also having to wage a real fight against those who would see Wyatt and those he loves destroyed. There’s a lot of drama, violence which may contain a few triggers, including some very lethal action, a few mystical legends, a bit of steamy passion and plenty of bad guys. The characters are all very well-drawn, and the storyline is a fascinating mix of the good, the bad and the ugly; enough to keep you enthralled from beginning to end. This is definitely not a journey for the faint of heart but one you really should take.
Greed Every time
This book goes deep into the psyche of Walker, Wyatt, and Chance. who knew that something that started more than 20 years ago would come full circle an affect the lives of the main players namely their children. I was expecting a really good story but based on the title I couldn’t figure out what this book was going to be about. This story had me so engrossed from beginning to end and I hate it to see the end of the story.
You know the saying that Karma comes around boy did it. Childhood trauma is no joke in this book and may set off a few triggers for people who have suffered this type of trauma. So be careful I’m reading this book.
In this story you will see how selfishness, greed, hatred, lust, an entitlement whittle away any possible good the people may have had in them. A sense of entitlement will cause sorrow too many and unrealistic expectations in others.
I truly enjoyed reading this book and hope others will to.
My review is based on my enjoying the book and wishing to share with others.
With a book from Ciana Stone, the only sure thing you can expect is a whole lot of the UNexpected!!
This time she brings us a story about injustice to a tribe of Native Americans in North Carolina. But there is so much more involved than that.
The twists and turns are absolutely mind-boggling as only Ms. Stone can come up with!
Another must-read for everyone’s To Be Read ASAP file!!
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
Ciana Stone’s imagination never ceases to amaze me. I feel like I started out reading one book about Wyatt and Chance. Wyatt, who is experiencing a seemingly unnatural level of anger about everything. Chance, who is on this quest of discovery.
Almost immediately, the lies, the deceptions, the evil, the twists and turns start to emerge. Is it supernatural? Is it Native American mythology? Or is it all of the above?
I can say that this story was intriguing, complex, and even mildly confusing at times, toward the end. If you are looking for a lighthearted, easy read, this is not it. If you are looking for a suspenseful, wild ride, you are in the right place. This was a 4.5 for me.
I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy of this book received from the author.
I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest
It was a great book!
Wyatt is tired of the fighting.
He would love some peace and quiet.
On leave from his SEALS team, he finds another kind of war waiting for him at his home.
It looks that there is trouble brewing at Wyatt’s reservation.
Chance is a producer for CNN, and Wyatt’s childhood friend.
She still loves Wyatt, even thought they have not seen each other for a long time.
When trouble comes calling, Chance will stand by Wyatt no matter what.
Now, what are these two going to do ?
The characters + storytelling were very captivating
It has all the ingredients that you need for an awesome book!
I can’t wait for the next book in the series!
I must say this was a strange and confusing book for me. Wyatt is a tortured soul. Something from his past that happened with his twin brother. It seems his twin is trying to take over his body or is he. Then there’s Chance his young love. Chance thought she was enough for him, but things changed. There is a lot of deceit with her father and everyone around them. Indian mythology abounds. HEA. Received this book free for an honest review.
