RITA® award winning author! What if she never came home . . . ?When Mitchell Brannon’s beloved wife sets off for home after a conference, he has no idea that his life is about to change forever. Mitch returns from work early that evening, surprised that Jill’s car isn’t in the garage. But her voice on the answering machine makes him smile. “Hey, babe, I’m just now checking out of the hotel, but … of the hotel, but I’ll stop and pick up something for dinner. Love you.” Hours later, Jill still hasn’t returned, and Mitch’s irritation turns to dread.
When the police come up empty, Mitch enlists the help of their next-door neighbor, Jill’s best friend, Shelley, to help search. As hours turn into days and days into weeks, Mitch and Shelley’s friendship grows ever closer—and decidedly more complicated. Every lead seems to be a dead end, and Mitch wonders how he can honor the vows he made to a woman who has seemingly disappeared from the face of the earth.

This was another great book by Deborah Rainey. Different from all the others I had read by her but different in a good way. Certainly left me with a deeper understanding & thoughts about the lives of those who have a loved one simply disappear.
I have not finished the book yet, but it is hard to put it down!!
Read this in two days because I had to know what happened. Very well told and a story I haven’t read about before. The author took a subject you might have heard about and brought out the history behind the headlines.
Very good book and love story
I enjoyed this book very much. It was a good clean book.
Love this book by Deborah Raney! She is a talented author who brings her characters to life. I loved the realistic story line. Would highly recommend for those that enjoy faith filled inspirational books with a touch of suspense. Could not put it down until I finished it!
Could not put it down!
A realistic presentation of a family tragedy. The characters are very believable as they struggle with the gamut of roller coaster emotions. They help us to re-examine our own responses to personal difficulties as well as our reactions to others who are affected by tragic circumstances. This author deserves to be acknowledged for her courageous portrayal of human strengths and weaknesses and how drawing upon the faithfulness of the Lord can bring peace in the midst of turmoil.
I loved it. Couldn’t wait til the ending and I liked the ending. She’s a great writer
Really awesome book!!! Loved the story! Read it in one day!!!
Enjoyed this book!
This was a good read. Not sure I’m as happy about the story running behind the mystery; (you’ll see what I mean when you read it) I was more Interested in the missing woman. The rest was just – WHY?
I love all Deborah Raney’s book. She is a wonderful author who keeps me interested in what is happening and keeps me turning the pages, and I know there will be a happy ending. I’m not always sure how her books will end, as I often am with other authors, and the element of surprise makes the story all the more interesting.
I thought this was a very good book, I read it all in one day it was so good. I appreciate a book that you don’t guess everything that happens before you get to that part.
People of faith, hope, and faithfulness to commitment. Living through a nightmare and retaining their integrity. I liked them all, respected them all.
Enjoyable and easy to like the characters. Very realistic and easy to see yourself in the positions of different characters.
There are so many tradgedy’s this side of heaven that we don’t understand. This is a tear jerker but also a book about how GOD brings good out of the bad circumstances in our lives & we can trust Him. He also brings us closer to Him through these circumstances.
Deborah Raney is an exceptional author!
Christian. Missing wife and all of the grief, confusion, gossip, with no answers for months. Deborah Raney is an author I look for and read often.
I really enjoyed this book. It was a fairly accurate depiction of what a family goes through when someone goes missing. When do you give up? When do you accept the loss of that person? There were a few parts that brought tears to my eyes and I hope that this writer continues.
A bit predictable, but I enjoyed it none the less. I like stories that have a strong moral emphasis.
