He’s got 70 million followers but only hates one of them – me. Can two of the world’s most famous people fake a relationship in front of the cameras? Find out in this addictively fun romance from New York Times Bestseller Alessandra Torre.
There was a lot I did to get to this point, to get 42 million followers. Some of it I was proud of, most of it I wasn’t.
There was a group of us, all … wasn’t.
There was a group of us, all internet celebrities, and everyone wanted in, which is how six of us ended up living in this mansion, a camera always on, the public always watching. Two months and nine carefully scripted TV episodes that would get us more of the three F’s we were desperately chasing.
Fame. Fortune. Followers.
I knew my role. I was Emma, the unlikeable one. The dark villain with the devious smile. The package of dynamite that would blow up any chance of peaceful living and harmony.
Cash knew his role. He was the good guy. The lovable one. The one that everyone, even the darkest cast member of them all, would fall in love with.
They were supposed to just be roles.
None of it was supposed to be real.
My heart didn’t get that memo.

“I was still having trouble wrapping my head around that because the last thing I needed was another reason to want Emma Blanchard.”
It was the title that got my attention. What’s funny though, is that the direction it takes my dirty mind is NOT what F stands for. It’s all about Fame. Fortune. Followers.
While Emma is supposedly the unlikable one…I liked her. Especially when I learned her secret. The one that would totally ruin her reputation…and it did. But not the way I expected. Truthfully, her secret was my favorite part of the book. And it also stressed me the most, worrying about it being discovered.
Cash, I loved him from the get-go, just like the rest of the world. And when I learned his secrets, I loved him even more. Don’t get the idea that I liked and loved all the characters. That’s most definitely not the case. If I had a voodoo doll it would look like acupuncture gone wrong. My poking fingers were really twitching just thinking about what I’d like to do to more than one character that raised my blood pressure.
This story is different from any other I’ve read by the author, not steamy like I was expecting. All the heat was in the insults and social media posts. But it DID engage my feelings. It pulled my heartstrings and left me with a smile on my face.
„Do you want to be somebody?”
Alessandra Torre bares the other side of the shiny and splendid life of rich and famous and delivers the story about becoming the IT girl, who’s set to get 3F- fame, fortune and followers. Climbing the social media ladder isn’t a piece of cake and it requires a lot of sacrifices and changes. But in the end are they worth it? Is it possible to stay true to yourself in the pursuit of the fabulous life straight from Instagram pics?
The story described in this book is surprising and engaging. Like in a modern rags to riches story, we follow Emma on her way to fame and flashlights. But apart from this interesting journey, The F List also offers us an exciting enemies-to-lovers story, which with one innocent encounter awakened in our heroine the need to make a mark. And she did, becoming the sharp-tongued, unstoppable celebrity.
This story is raw and unfiltered, in contrast to the influencer’s life Emma desperately wants. It shows the ugly and conniving ways to get to the top of social media food chain. It’s full of fights, betrayals and conspiracies. The only thing I needed more was the romance. The banter was on point and the whole ‘I hate you’ thing that was going on between characters was enjoyable to read, but I expected a little more of their emotions when they weren’t at war. But with the unique storyline and the way Alessandra delivered it, it was still a great read!
The F List was so good!! I could not put this book down. I am so glad I didn’t hesitate longer than a second to start reading. Once I started, I didn’t stop!! Emma wants to be famous and thinks social media is the way to go. How she and Cash, who is famous, meet is quite interesting. Not the typical boy meets girl situation. I loved the lightness of this book. Now, there’s drama, but not in the usual manner. The drama fits the story. The story is entertaining. The characters are real, like people we would follow and obsess over in our own lives. I enjoyed The F List so much!!! It was everything I was looking for in a book!!!
The F List was an interesting read and I actually really enjoyed it. This story focuses on Emma and Cash who have one of those “I despise you (in public!), but (secretly) want to tear your clothes off!” relationships. Emma didn’t have the best childhood, or relationship with her parents, and she was frequently picked on. She yearns for fame, fortune, love, and acceptance. Emma doesn’t completely lacks self confidence and is sure no one will ever love her or want to be her friend unless she becomes a more popular, trendy, fashionable, physically attractive woman. When she has a moment of good luck Emma decides to totally remake her image, her persona, and her life.
Cash is the offspring of a wealthy, famous actress who Emma adores and she’s positive that Cash has led a perfect life simply because of that. She has no idea what his childhood was like or why he’s done so much to achieve the status he has, and works so hard to keep the money pouring in. Cash was attracted to Emma from the moment they met, long before her makeover, but after she becomes someone new? He’s not impressed. Still attracted, but has a less than stellar opinion of her as a person.
During Emma’s climb to celebrity status she begins doing volunteer work to find out more about Cash’s brother, Wesley, who’s hidden away from prying eyes. Wesley is my favorite character. He’s the sweetest, purest, and most likeable! The rest of their families will not be the source of any warm reunions.
As Emma climbs her way to the top rungs of social media fame and ultimately lands herself on a reality show with Cash. Their tension continues until things finally come to a head. A ruthless producer who will do anything for ratings manipulates them, their families, and doesn’t care who gets hurt. This book itself reads like a reality show and it’s great! (Although, not gonna lie, I was kinda hoping Em would’ve clocked Dana! ) The ending was so perfect! If you enjoy the occasional guilty pleasure of watching reality shows or follow IG influencers you’ll probably enjoy this one!
Unlike any other!
I’m telling you now, nobody has written a book like this. It’s so weird and different, but somehow it works perfectly.
I just guilty-pleasured the *hit out of this book. MTV reality shows have been my jam since I was probably 14, hunkering down watching The Real World and Road Rules every single season. I’m now 36 and still enjoyed this book (and I still watch MTV’s The Challenge—love me some CT!). Why? Who knows. Probably something to do with the celebs we still can’t seem to get enough of, right? It’s that inside scoop we crave, whether we want to admit or not. I kinda wanted to hate this book, but here I am—leaving a 5 star review because for some reason, I freaking loved it.
This book was just what I needed in my life right now. I enjoyed the lightheartedness of The F List. This was a fast paced one sitting read.
If your looking fir something light and fast paced this is your book.
Emma is transparent in her calculated rise to fame and fortune. The amount of effort that goes into social media content, “candid” pictures, product placement, and staged gatherings — all in the name of followers and clicks — is fascinating and astonishing. Despite the fact that Emma is selfish, I liked her because underneath it all is a lonely, insecure young woman who just wants to be noticed. She actually does have a kind heart and moral compass. I enjoyed Cash’s love-hate chemistry with her.
The scripted realityWhat a surprising little treat from Alessandra Torre. It’s totally different from the other books I’ve read by her. There’s no suspense, no big twists, no dark subject matter, and *gasp* no sex. It’s just a light, super quick read.
I’ve always been puzzled by celebrities who are rich and famous due to their social media influence rather than their talent or accomplishments. This story explores the artificial and superficial world of celebrity through Emma’s fame-hungry eyes.
show scenario is as ludicrous as most reality TV is, and the ending is rather extreme. However, I really needed a fun book that didn’t take itself too seriously, and this one suited me just fine.
Couldn’t put it down. Read it cover to cover as soon as I picked it up. Loved the peek into the world of a social media influencer.
I loved this story so much! It’s really eye opening to the society that we are living in today and especially how much social media influences this generation. The writing style is unique and adds an overall air of mystery.
I’ll admit that I felt the story was a little slow to start, but the backstory is a must to see Emma’s rise to fame. Once the already famous Cash Mitchell makes an appearance, the story becomes very interesting. The attraction is palpable once they begin filming and I could not stop reading at this point. The happily ever after was perfect for this celebrity couple. I’ll be thinking about this book for a long time and it has made me see fame in a different light. Well done!
The F List is an amazing read. I love watching Emma and Cash fall for each other. It wasn’t simple but it was beautiful when it happened. Emma has a big heart and you understand why she tries to steer clear of her past as her fame raises. Cash you get why he is so guarded especially when it comes to his brother. The chemistry between Cash and Emma is so strong throughout this one. It is a sweet read that will satisfy you and leave a smile on your face.
Cash and Emma wanted each other but didn’t know how to get there. Emma sold her soul to be an “it” person on the internet all while hoping to get Cash. Then they were thrown together in a reality tv situation that made it even harder. End the end it worked out but they had a lot of heartache to get there. I thought it was a really interesting concept to write about.
This isn’t your typical Alessandra Torre book but I ended up really liking it! It’s different & I don’t think I’ve ever read anything like this before. Emma’s goal is to gain as many followers on social media, doing whatever is necessary. She meets Cash, son of a famous actress, at a party during her younger years before plastic surgery changed her look. When he’s set up on a blind date with Emma & recognizes her, he realizes that she’s no longer the innocent, wide-eyed beauty he met all those years ago. She’s just like all the other wanna-be celebs using others to climb to the top. Their date ended badly which resulted in a social media frenzy of insults & hating each other. When they are put together in a reality show, will Emma be able to save herself from the effects of celebrity popularity? And will Cash ever find that sweet & innocent girl again?
There was a lot of drama going on which kept my attention. Deep down the old Emma exists, and it’s up to her to bring her back or risk losing Cash. This was a great read & I look forward to reading more from this author!
F Yeah!
Alessandra Torre brought me to my knees with probably my absolute least favorite kind of person. I know. I know. It’s terrible of me to judge but influencers…social media “whores”…reality tv people seem so darn fake it hurts. I was honestly not sure I would even like this book but something about the blurb just kept getting to me. It was like a pop corn kernel hull getting jammed into your gums. I tried to ignore it. I tried to move on. I looked at other books. I read other books but for some reason I jept coming back to it. NOW, I’m smiling like the cat that got the canary (no creatures were harmed, Marissa).
The villian is redeemed. The true bad guys exposed…or light shed on them. Love is found and conquers all. The F List proves that even I can fall for a reality star/influencer. If I can, you can too.
Just whatever you do…don’t tweet this!
Emma just wants to be IG famous with tons of followers, Cash grew up in the spotlight thanks to his famous mom. They can’t stand each other, and now they have to live together and have every interaction filmed. I super enjoyed this book. It was sweet, had a good faster pace, but still had all the elements that give you all the feels. Both Emma and Cash were great characters that were relatable on some level. I adored Wesley and his relationship with Emma. It’s about so much more than just filming a “reality” show, it has some depth. I loved the format, shorter chapters with quotes in between, you get several perspectives without an overwhelming amount of characters. Overall this is a fantastic quicker read, that’s a great distraction and keeps your interest. Definitely recommend!
I love when authors deviate from what they are typically known for, especially when they give us something fun and entertaining. This isn’t necessarily a typical book for this author, but that doesn’t mean it’s any less compared to her previous books. Her penchant for delivering a great story rings through here.
I wasn’t sure what I was going to think about this one before I started it. I’m not usually a lover of “celebrity” books. This one is just a touch different though since the heroine is an Instagram celebrity. That, too, made me a little weary.
It was interesting to see how the heroine went from a “zero” to insta-famous. Being versed in Instagram and how it works (for the most part) rang true in this book. I enjoyed her rise and fear of the fall in this book.
Add in a chance encounter with a spoiled rich heroine, then to later be thrown together, and you have one interesting read. The clash of these two definitely made for a page-turning read. I read this in one shot. I haven’t done that in a while. It felt really good.
I’m aware this might not be for every reader, but I think this is a book that should be given a read. Sometimes the drama filled books annoy me. This one is written just right so that with the occasional annoyance comes pure entertainment. They go hand in hand in this book. It’s nothing short of a fun read!
This was a fun, easy book to read. I loved both Emma and Cash but Wesley stole the show for sure. While it was quite predictable the author kept it fresh and held my interest with the way she spun the story. A very enjoyable way to spend the day!!

Whoa, what a book! The F List was like a reality TV show that I couldn’t stop binging. It was a trainwreck, that I literally could not look away from. The drama was absolutely ridiculous yet so entertaining. The book starts out with Emma being interviewed for a role in a reality TV show with 6 celebrities living together in a home. Then, we immediately go back to how Emma became a celebrity and gained followers. It was quite the look into a life of an Instagram Influencer, and maybe a little disturbing how it all played out. Emma is the mean girl on the pages, but actually a really sweet girl, who just wanted to be famous. Then, we’re in the reality show and all the drama that the producers cooked up for it. There was a romance in there between Emma and Cash, the good guy, but a lot of it didn’t play out on the pages, and what was shown was a little tame. There were also quotes from producers and various people close to Emma, which helped shape the story a lot. The entire story was a quick read, but I will admit I wanted more from this world and these characters. This is a highly entertaining read and a welcome escape from our current world. I would definitely recommend it.

Review
The F List is different from what I have read so far from Alessandra Torre’s yet it was so good. This book is about the girl who dreams about having fame, fortune and followers. With the increase in social media influencers/obsessed these days this book tells about several realities. Even though it doesn’t have a strong story line it definitely felt more realistic. Execution made it more beautiful. Book didn’t drag anywhere much.
Book starts with how a simple girl Emma ends up with lot of fortune and how she became obsessed with getting fame and followers. The path she followed to reach there with no proper talent made it more realistic. Cash is a trust fund baby with an actress mother. He is an adorable boy who has fortune and fame, and even he is obsessed with followers. Every part of their life is always watched and dissected. They have met and they don’t like each other. When you sell every minute of your life on social media, what life do you really have? What is left of you?
When they are approached for “The Hall of Fame” Celebrity staged reality show, they know their roles, yet it felt real. This book shows what happens behind the scenes on reality shows. I totally loved the ending. I don’t want to go further in the story just go in blind and enjoy sarcasm, wit and have fun.
Overall, this is a light, quick read that lets you escape into a whole other world.

This is completely different then the rest of the books I’ve read from Alessandra. I enjoyed that this was more about connection and chemistry rather than about sex. It was a refreshing change from the books I’ve been reading lately, and I do enjoy some change up every now and then. This was a unique story told in a time when everything is a version of another book.
I hope you do give this one a read. It’s so nice to see her change up her normal type of books. I look forward to seeing if she continues this.
