Abby’s off to college and she can be anyone or anything she wants. The problem is she feels like five or six different people all trapped in the same body. One Abby with her dad. One Abby with her mom. One with her sisters. One with her girlfriend. One with her friends. Everyone wants a different version of her. Until she meets them.Gavin’s off to college and he can be anyone or anything he wants. and he can be anyone or anything he wants.
The problem is the voices in his head of all the people who’ve told him he doesn’t matter; he’s too small, too weak, too nerdy. Being a math genius is pointless if no one pays any attention to you.
No one expects him to rise to the occasion.
But rise he does.

The Explorer (Mountains Series Book 6) by Phoebe Alexander gives us Abby’s story and the ups and downs of a young woman trying to find her place in the world, college, friends and sexuality. There is a lot of emotion in this story and Phoebe doesn’t shy away from the different, unusual or anything in between. She explores it all and has given something for young and older age brackets something to read and connect with and hopefully give them the confidence to open up and be able to discuss the tough topics and bring them a voice.
This title perfectly describes our heroine and this first story of hers. Abby is on a journey, one that Alexander quite vividly captures in print. The emotional struggle jumps off the page. Each of Alexander’s stories stands on their own for their perspective and emotional pull. Each one explores their true self. Each one makes you want to find a way to be comfortable with who you are. I loved reading Abby’s story and cannot wait to read what comes next for her.
Abby is a college student struggling to find out who she really is outside of who her mother sees her as, outside of her life as a friend, and outside of everything she’s been told to be by society. This book is the perfect book for any young adult to read in order to discover who they are as a person. It teaches valuable lessons on how to discover the layers of you as an identity: But also who a young person can be as a sexual person in this society in the modern society. I love the way this author writes her stories and brings the audience on a joyful ride.
The sixth book in the series and Phoebe Alexander has done it again an action packed book. I have adored reading about Abby in the other books and now she’s got her own. Abby in college and setting her own path this is a steamy coming to age book. Which deals with how to have a positive body imanage and sexuality. Gavin dad broke my heart. Amazing read just like the rest of the series by Phoebe Alexander.
This is the sixth book in this series, I loved it just as much as the previous books. This book can be read as a standalone but I highly suggest reading the entire series. This author writes with heart and her books are full of hot, steamy romance. This book is no different. It is a well written story that has well developed characters that bring the story to life. This is Abby and Gavin’s story. They both feel as if they have other people living inside them. Abby feels that everyone wants a different person. Gavin feels that no one is listening to him or even notices him, they see him as not very strong. What these two have in common with each other you will have to read this book but you don’t want to miss it. They are strong characters that I loved watching grow throughout the story. I felt bad for them in parts and joy in others. They kept me turning pages fast. I highly recommend you picking up their story.
The Explorer by Phoebe Alexander a five-star read you would climb mountains for. This is number six in the Mountains series, this one can be read as stand-alone, but the series is amazing, we have met Abby the main character of this one before as she is the daughter of one of the main characters from some of the earlier books, but this one Abby comes into her own and we get to know more about her as a woman. This author shows us again how to deal with issues we all face in a more inclusive manner as she shows us how to be body positive and just accepting of sexuality no matter the form it takes. Abby is growing up and we get to go on the journey with her, it’s such an insight into her mind, and its like being a fly on the wall of a young person’s life. This really brought some amazing characters to life and I can only hope we get to hear more from them.
Sarah’s daughter is grown up now and going to college. She’s finding out who she is by exploring her sexuality. This author is by far on of the best in the business for writing about true life. The feelings and experiences good and bad. It’s the positivity that I applaud her for. This is an awesome book!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Awesome read
Abby went off to college with lots of doubts. She knew what she wanted to be in life but she was very insecure about who she was.In this book be get to experience her trials and tribulations about herself and how she grows to become the true person she is.Although her mother told her Be herself she even was unsure of who that person was.Awesome read actually this whole series is great
I loved this book! When we meet Abby she was Sarah’s teenage daughter who we saw glimpses of trying to discover who she was. Now we get to see Abby fully embracing her journey.
This book has so much heart. It not only was about a young woman’s journey but of friendship and family. It’s about finding those people that are in your corner no matter what. I loved the open and honest way that Abby, Willow and Gavin could talk to each other. No judgement. Just open and willing to talk out feelings. I don’t want to give away spoilers but simply this book was a breath of fresh air regarding sexuality.
The story is not without some hard lessons for Abby and her friends. My heart broke for Gavin although I still despise his dad. I am curious if Mia will get herself together, I hope so. Matt and Abby’s relationships I can see as very relatable.
I really hope we get to continue to see this group grow as I am now completely invested in them.
