I received The Executive by K.I. Lynn to read as an ARC for my honest review.
From the very first page of The Executive I was draw in instantly. I love boss/employee romances, and this one was one of my favorite because of the angsty feel, drama feel and can’t forget the dark twist. I read this amazing story in one sitting! 5 stars and I highly recommend!!!
Lincoln is the CEO of a major company.
Handsome, rich, rough around the edges and he has secrets…
Ivy is a beautiful, smart woman. She has been a job for 5 years and bam decides its time to go… The moment Lincoln and Ivy met there’s a instant attraction. Until they meet again in the interview room minutes later. Ivy wants to be a great right hand assistant and be recognized for her accomplishments. Lincoln needs a new assistant but Ivy is a gift and a curse. She’s also his in with taking down his rival her former boss.
The story is so well written and flows brilliantly
The characters are fully developed
Their banter is a roller coaster of emotions
I absolutely loved this story
It’s not all hearts and love, its hate, lust to love story.
K.I. Lynn this book is another hit love
Synopsis:
She’s just a tool, and I’ll ruin her, because I need to.
From the moment I first saw her, Ivy Prescot has been a bad idea. Strong willed, beautiful, intelligent–she is my perfect storm. The attraction is palpable, undeniable.
The problem is she’s the assistant to the CEO of a hundred-million dollar company.
She’s my assistant.
The other problem? She was previously the assistant to my rival and the man I have sworn to destroy at all costs.
I need her to achieve my goal, but I will rip apart anyone that stands in my way.
In the game of crushing kings of men, I never planned on my heart being a sacrifice.
Everything is in motion, unable to be stopped. I can only hope that when the dust settles she will forgive me
This was my first book from this author and I really enjoyed it. She did an excellent job of conveying feelings and not just telling a story. The male character is the perfect combination of jerk and sweetheart. I like how she left a little bit of mystery in the details leading to the conflict
4.5* Coffee Stars
I was very excited when The Executive arrived on my kindle, not only is the cover sexy as sin but I love K.I. Lynn’s writing. You know that you will be in for a sexy treat.
The Story of Ivy and Lincoln did not disappoint. The attraction between Ivy, who is Lincoln’s new office assistant is instant however Ivy will not give in to this chemistry between them as she want their relationship to be as professional as possible. Her reasons for this are that her previous douchebag boss was forever trying to get her to have sex with him.
Lincoln is finding this very frustrating and his behaviour towards Ivy is very demanding and curt. I loved the way Ivy stood her ground and gave it back to Lincoln but also had a caring side to her.
Their relationship develops slowly over time whilst both are keeping secrets from each other and heartache they have suffered.
The story flowed well; it was steamy as well as having some sensitive sadness to it.
I highly recommend this wonderful, sometimes funny, forbidden office romance.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Many thanks to the author K.I. Lynn.
I really enjoyed this PA/CEO book with the difficult, demanding boss, the bright and bold personal assistant and the passionate sparks between them.
What makes THE EXECUTIVE better than the average office romance is that Ivy meets Lincoln at the tail end of his years long quest for revenge.
I couldn’t put this book about love, family, tragedy and renewal down until I finished it. I think K. I. Lynn is one of those authors that takes the time to write a truly memorable story, not just write a book.
I love everything about this book. Once I started reading I couldn’t put my kindle down. I love a good office romance and Lincoln & Ivy’s story had me hooked. Lincoln & Ivy have instant chemistry and their banter was priceless. Truly an amazing read that had heat, love and definitely will pull on your heartstrings. Definitely a 5 star read that everyone must one click.
Enjoyed
Wow… I mean I loved the cover immediately but when I read the blurb, I just knew I needed to get a copy of this book. Ivy is a brilliant and determined woman who has great morals and dignity which is what leads her to leave her previous job. Dante is… let’s be frank, a disgusting excuse for a human being. He thinks that because he is the boss, he can do whatever he wants. So then we meet Lincoln. Oh boy. He’s smooth. So smooth he goes down like hot chocolate on a cold winter’s day. But he is a ride your a** kind of boss. And not the fun kind. Understandable considering he is the CEO of a multi-million dollar company but still, fairly certain you can have some sympathy and compassion. After all, your employees are human. Despite Ivy wanting to keep her relationship strictly professional, it’s hard for her and Lincoln to deny their simmering desire for each other. And when it boils over, it certainly makes for excellent reading. I thought I knew what was driving Lincoln and his end goal but then pow! KI Lynn surprised me with a curve ball. It was nothing what I was expecting and it did show Lincoln in a different light. I think I would have liked Lincoln to suffer a bit more but that’s just me. I felt that maybe he should have suffered a little more because of the means he used to get to his goal. Overall, this was a great office romance with strong characters, an interesting plot, and, of course, hot chemistry.
A great office romance story. It has all the feels we look for. I was drawn in instantly from the beginning. It has characters you will fall in love with. I loved the connection and banter. The chemistry is sizzling. Its entertaining with dark twist. It’s a story you don’t want to miss.
5 Stars
This book captivated me from the first page all the way to the last. Lincoln Devereaux is, plain and simple, an a-hole at the best of times and I absolutely loved his banter with Ivy. I always love seeing an Alphahole brought to his knees by a strong feisty woman, and Ivy was more than woman enough to get the job done.
Lincoln is focused on one thing: revenge. And when he learns the woman he is interviewing works for the man he’s out destroy, it’s a no-brainer. Using her to get back at Dante Kilgore sounds like an amazing idea. He just didn’t realize he would fall for her along the way. The chemistry between Lincoln and Ivy is scorching hot, and watching these two try to keep things amicable and professional is almost torture. I loved this book so much. Watching the change in Lincoln warmed my heart, and knowing the lengths he will go to for Ivy just made me love him even more. Pick up The Executive today. You won’t be disappointed.

You can always count on K.I. Lynn to deliver a hot, angsty office romance.
Lincoln Devereux is a self made man and he’s got vengeance on his mind. His life was rocked by a personal event that occurred years ago, and ever since then he’s been on a warpath. His target is Dante Kilgore.
Ivy Prescott is good at her job. Unfortunately her boss sucks and after an incident which shows her that she’s not safe around him, she finds herself another job.
As Lincoln Devereux’s assistant.
Lincoln is a no nonsense man. He’s hardworking and hyperfocused, but he can be quite an ass when things don’t go his way. Everything fits into neat little boxes in his life, but Ivy Prescott doesn’t.
She can’t be managed. She’s more than what Lincoln thinks her to be. She’s the perfect partner for him. When he pushes she pulls. Their working relationship is only marred by the fact that Lincoln can’t stop thinking about fucking her.
This frustrates him, and he takes his frustrations out on his new assistant. But Ivy gives it back just as good.
I liked how she held her own against him. K.I. Lynn sure knows how to write a stubborn, speak my mind, heroine. Ivy is not afraid of Lincoln, and she’s not afraid to let him know that.
Lincoln could be sweet when he wanted it, and it was endearing to see a man who was torn between his feelings and his agenda for revenge.
This book finished so fast! I wish it was longer so I could savor it more!
4 stars!
Enemies to lovers, deception, head games and the sexual chemistry….. Umm, this book was definitely something else and not what I expected.
Lincoln and Ivy, were definitely something else. Him the brooding, arrogant type and Ivy… Well it did take a minute for me to warm up to her, but in the end she grew on me.
Good story, kept me guessing at every turn and the highlight- definitely not what I expected. K.I. Lynn, you definitely kept my mind plotting and intrigued. I can’t wait to read more books by you.
When Ivy runs into a hot guy in front of the elevator right before her interview, she’s gleeful that he leaves her with an invitation to dinner. But not so gleeful when he turns out to be the CEO interviewing her for the position as his right hand woman. Sigh…
Lincoln is a powerful, brooding man, damaged by the loss of someone he loved. He has little time for relationships, emotional attachments, anything but pleasure and attaining the vengeance he so craves. He’s less than thrilled that the beauty who ran into him turns out to be interviewing for the position of his assistant. He knows he should stay away from her, but he can’t get her out of his head, even as he bites her head off all day long in the office. Soon the two are entwined in each other’s lives. But his quest for vengeance will make for a huge obstacle in his conquest of Ivy’s everything. Can he keep her AND get his vengeance? Or are the two mutually exclusive?
The Executive may follow a certain tried and true formula (powerful, sexy but damaged man on a quest for vengeance) but it’s not cookie cutter or shallow by any means. Lincoln in particular is a fascinating, layered character. I loved watching him struggle to quantify his feelings for Ivy and just how those feelings fit into his quest for vengeance. Ivy was a bit less interesting than Lincoln, but she was the perfect foil for his deep, damaged character. And their chemistry was electric! Whew.
I loved Welcome to the Cameo Hotel, which is the only other writing by the author that I’ve read, but I think The Executive just might have it beat. It’s powerful storytelling with two interesting, substantive characters, intense passion and a storyline that never once lagged in intensity and readability. I am looking forward to much, much more from this author.
I really enjoy this office romance between Ivy and Lincoln. Ivy had to move on from her current position of personal assistant for a very sexist CEO named Dante. She gets another position at a rival company working for Lincoln. There is instant chemistry there when they first met before Lincoln even interviews Ivy for the position. Both try to keep their relationship professional since Ivy didn’t want to be known as someone who would sleep with their boss. But they can’t deny their attraction to each other and take the steps to be involved in a romantic relationship. However, there are secrets that Lincoln is keeping and Ivy won’t deal with it. He has to tell her his secrets or risk losing her.
Things get more complicated when we find out that Lincoln is trying to take down Dante and his company for something that was tragic that happened in both their pasts. Ivy somehow ends up being in the middle of this so Lincoln tries to protect her by ending things. Ivy can’t understand what is happening but needs to move on. Lincoln for his part just wants to go to Ivy and explain things but is caught between protecting her and wanting to be with her.
This story was romantic, funny, the banter between Ivy and Lincoln was great, and secrets are revealed that we never expect. You really need to read this story!
I started this book at 11pm. Absolute Rookie Mistake. I should have known that a K.I Lynn book would pull me and not let me go.
Not let me go it did, this story has all the feels and emotions.
I was captivated me, intrigued me and had me guessing what the Fuck was going on.
I’m normally not into back and forth but this book was definitely an exception to the rule. It was needed especially since the H Lincoln was the h Ivy’s Boss. I understood why she battled with her position and then also their relationship. She definitely wasn’t anyones doormat neither was she goona let ppl think she slept her way through the top.
Lincoln is such an arsehole even when fighting his feelings for Ivy. There are plenty moments when you wanna slap them both but when you learn Linc’s reason for all the damage he is doing your heary actually breaks for him.
These twp together are real MAGIC. They are made for each other. They complement each other. They fit. Its 100% Ying to His Yang. Their chemistry is off the Fucking Charts Hotttttt.
Grab this book now and I promise you won’t be sorry you Lost couple hours being addicted to this story.
4.5 stars
This was a hard book to put down! Within a few pages I was hooked. The chemistry between Ivy and Lincoln is off the charts from the second they meet and it only gets hotter and hotter the more time they spend together.
Lincoln is set on getting his revenge and when Ivy goes for an interview and he learns she’s currently working for his enemy, and he immediately starts coming up with a plan on how he can use her to take her boss down. He has no idea how phenomenal Ivy is at her job, nor is he expecting to feel such an intense attraction to her. There’s times I really disliked Lincoln. He can be a bit (a lot) of a jerk but there’s something about him that’s very appealing.
I loved this book. Give me an office romance with plenty of push and pull, a ton of chemistry and throw some revenge in for good measure and I guarantee I’ll be hooked and that was the case with The Executive. I didn’t put this book down once from start to finish.
Holy Molly this book was something else. Wild ride all the way. Full of hatred, revenge drive but bittersweet and love changing. The story itself wrapped me around its little finger and wouldn’t t let loose until the very end.
The characters were meant to be together, although the path was very stony with lots of secrets and distrust but in the end perfection pure. Their acting was like crashing of waves on the rocks. Lincoln like the rock, hard and demanding, Ivy surrounding him with her softness, sometimes stormy, sometimes steady pace. No one could really win. The same but so very different and their relationship like sparkles sizzling through the air. Explosive, hot and steamy in a corporate world.
I loved every second of this amazing book. I loved also the mention of the company from another book by K.I. Lynn. So familiar yet so different.
K.I Lynn returns with another erotically charged office romance story between a boss Lincoln Devereux and his recently hired Assistant Ivy Prescot. This romance is heightened by the antagonistic tension between them and leads to nothing less than a delicious slow-burn love story. The pace in which Lincoln and Prescott get to know each other, in which the sexual tension between them smolders is spot on. We get their story through both of their viewpoints and discover the two are much alike than either would have guessed.
We get to know a bit about Ivy before she actually works for Lincoln, to see what drove her to apply for a job with DCS. The need to leave her current role is readily apparent and completely understandable – a #MeToo situation in the making. Although she feels sparks with Lincoln from the moment she unwittingly meets her potential new boss, she moves forward with the job change for good reason. But she also is unaware of the past between Lincoln and her former boss and unaware of the turmoil Lincoln is experiencing.
“How was I going to get what I needed from her when there was now something I wanted equally as badly?”
As their connection escalates from co-workers to something more, the complexity of emotions and their physical need for each other puts Ivy in danger and their new-found relationship at risk. Before Lincoln knows it he’s got what he needs to feed his vengeance, but he losers much more in the process.
I have enjoyed everything I’ve read by K.I. Lynn and find that her characters are unique. No one does office romance like she does and I happily recommend this book.
If you love office romances you will love The Executive. I couldn’t get enough of Ivy and Lincoln. You will fall in love with the broken of a man Lincoln is. You feel his pain once his past get revealed. You will love how much Ivy stands up for herself and doesn’t let anyone steamroll her. Ivy and Lincoln have this amazing attraction that you feel from the start. It is so much fun watching them both fight their feelings and the working relationship they have. Ivy is just amazing in every way. You can’t help but to see why these two are perfect together. I absolutely loved The Executive and couldn’t put this one down. It is a sexy fun read that you will love so much. This is one red hot office romance that needs to be read.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review.
From the moment I first saw her, Ivy Prescot has been a bad ide. Strong willed, beautiful, intelligent-she is my perfect storm. The attraction is palpable, undeniable. This is the story of Lincoln, the CEO of a major company and he is determiend to domiate the field and destroy the competition…..literally. He also has some major secrets that he holds close and doesn’t let anyone know ever. Ivy is a strong willed, gives as good as she gets kind of girl who has worked for five years for Lincoln’s competiiton. She was his right hand, his assistant and it just so happens that Lincoln has been looking for an assistant for months. When he saves Ivy from falling in the loby there is some serious swoon worthy moments between them and the attraction is both mutal but also smoking hot. And, when Ivy interviews for the job she gets it and Lincolin is determined to keep her at arms length by get close enought her that she can get her to expell her secrets on her old boss. Who by the way is a huge pervert and thinks that every woman in the world wants him and he treats his female employees like sex objects. This is the story of revenge and secrets. Lust and Love and most of all following the heart that you had forgotten you had. I loved every second of this book and couldn’t put it down. I rooted for these guys and was surprised at the secrets that Lincoln held. There is just no way to figure out everything that he is hiding and the secrets he hold. Go and grab this book and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
From the very first word, I was intrigued. From the very first chapter I was hooked. From the very first meeting I was devoted. From the very first connection I was owned. To the very end I was undone. Completely blindsided by the intense adoration I have for these characters in such a short time. Completely overwhelmed by the high standard in which the characters were presented. Their complexities were cleverly displayed and intrigued me endlessly. I loved delving into the mind of the sexy, tall and dastardly delicious CEO, and observed how he was brought to his knees by the beautiful Ivy. He met his match with her. Her intelligence, honour and wit broke the tremendous walls he created and rendered him useless against her innocent charm.
K. I. Lynn brings an unforgettable love story that has bumps, ugliness, mayhem and the most blinding beauty. A love so descriptive, you swear you were living it. A stunning story that I cannot forget and will not forget. A beautiful memory. 5 stars.
