When my parents told me that I’d be spending three weeks at a London prep school on a student exchange my junior year, I was furious. I love New York. My school. My friends. And I didn’t want to leave. But after some not-so-subtle insistence about experiencing a new culture, gaining worldly knowledge, and the fact that it was only three weeks, I knew I wasn’t getting out of it. So, I decided that …
So, I decided that if I had to go, I might as well have some fun.
Which was how I met Harry at a pub. His blue eyes, adorable accent, and charm instantly won me over – right after his lips did.
And I started to think that London might not be so bad.
But then I met Noah.
He’s tall, dark, intense, and spends way too much time in the shower. I know this because I have to live with him. And did I mention that he hates me?
My first day at school is more eventful than I anticipated. A boy named Mohammad takes me under his wing, declares himself my guide to the “hostile and hormonal battlefield that is Kensington School,” and lays three facts on me:
He, Harry, and Noah are best mates.
I’m the new girl and bound to cause drama.
And I’ve already got his boys all twisted up.
I’m in way over my head, and it’s only my first day!

Cliffhanger, much?
When I started reading, I was not aware that this book only covers the first week of the exchange mentioned in the blurb. So this story ends at a point where nothing is resolved. Meh. (I’m not a fan of cliffhangers, YMMV.)
Also, there’s a LOT of drama for such a short amount of time covered in the book, and it took me a while to warm up to Mallory and the boys (not Mohammad, though, he was an insta-like 🙂 ).
Mallory is off to London for a 3 week exchange trip!
This book kicks off the series, and it is AMAZING.
From the first chapter, you won’t want to put it down.
I liked this book, it gave me a really good insight into the characters and all the relationships between them. Obviously, some will change and grow over the progression of the books but it really set a great foundation for the next part of the book. I can’t help but feel that Harry and Mal aren’t quite right for each other but, perhaps Noah could work with Mallory? Just my opinion. I’m looking forward to seeing how it plays out for sure.
London Prep (London Prep #1) was a great read by Jillian Dodd. Mallory started a three-week student exchange in London. Mallory didn’t want to go because it will be drastically different than New York. She is staying at Noah’s house and meets Harry and Mohammad who are friends with Noah. Mallory thinks Harry is adorable and tarts a “relationship” with him. Noah is very intense but she also is attracted to him. I really enjoyed reading Mallory’s story and can’t wait to read more in this series.
This book had me giggling at the strangest times. How could Mallory pick Harry over Noah?! The entire book I shook my head thinking, come on Noah’s right there what are you doing?! Especially the end, I don’t trust Harry. Not sure why but I don’t. I love Mohammed, he is awesome, exactly what everyone needs in a friend! I can’t wait to dig into the next book & find out if Mallory smartens up!
Stephannie 5 Star Review
I love Jillian Dodd’s series, this is a new series and after book one I am hooked. It is as good if not better than than the keatyn Chronicles or spy girl series. Jillian Dodd’s books are like a exciting exit from our real world and lives into a place of magic. I can’t express the feelings I express after reading one of Jillian’s books. I connect with the characters, I get excited and invested in the character’s lives and I can never get enough of them. Jillian is a amazing storyteller. She is one of my favorite authors and I’ll always be the first to stop whatever I am doing and read whatever Jillian writes.
I am so excited about this new series, I have so many questions about what is going to happen and what is next. I think that is what makes anyone who reads Jillian’s books hooked because it not expected. There are always twists and turns.
I love Mallory because she is different. She marches to the beat of her own drum; she has spunk, sass and is sweet when she wants to be. She is very confused being in a new environment when these two hot guys and girls who hate her because she doesn’t conform. I am confused myself who I am rooting for is it Noah or Harry. Each are so different and best friends. Plus there is Mohammed, I love his banter. These characters are great and I know I am going to be crying so tears before this series is over. Book one ends in a cliffhanger that I scream NO!! and I am needing more soon. ASAP. I don’t know what I want for these characters but I know I am hooked and want more. Jillian always leaves me wanting more.. Give me more Jillian!! Jillian Dodd
This is gonna be interesting.
This series will be full of interesting characters and will pull the reader in one direction or the other over this YA/NA love triangle.
Interesting start and can’t wait to keep reading!
I voluntarily requested and read an advance reader copy.
I’ve been looking forward to this book since it was announced! I’m so glad I finally got the chance to pick it up! It didn’t take long at all for me to get into this story and I had to finish reading it in one sitting. I enjoyed this first book!
This was such a cute, light hearted and amusing read that I enjoyed reading and am looking forward to seeing how the series progresses. Mallory is off to London for a short school experience abroad that she’s not to happy about until she meets a group of guys that might make her stay less uncomfortable. Sweet read
5 LONDON PREP STARS!! OMG, Mallory, Harry and Noah will take you on a fun ride in high school. You will get all the feels and lots of chemistry between these three. I can’t wait for the next book…I am already addicted to this series.
This is the 1st in a new series, and we are introduced to exchange student Mallory, and best friends, Harry, Noah, and Mohammed. This is a well written story which is emotionally charged, as well as having friendship dynamics, angst, drama, witty banter, and is a heartfelt humorous story with complex characters. I was totally captivated throughout this addictive page turner, and I cannot wait to read #2.
When Mallory’s parents inform her that they are sending her to London to study abroad she is instantly upset, how dare they completely disrupt the perfect life she has going in New York. They are insisting that it is for her own good, that she will benefit immensely from her time there, but she isn’t so convinced. She is going somewhere where she will have no family or friends around, and will have to learn subjects in school that don’t interest her at all… how can this be a good thing for her?
Then she meets her host family, their son Noah, and his best friends… and suddenly living in London for a few weeks starts to look a whole lot better!
Between the pages of this perfectly penned tale readers will follow young Mallory to London, and watch her try and adjust to a whole new way of life. She feels completely out of her element there and is certain it is going to be the worst three weeks of her life, but then she meets Noah and Harry and that is when things start to take on a whole new look. She likes them both, quickly develops feelings for both of them, but she isn’t so sure which would be better for her heart. Watching both of these young men vie for her heart and attention is quite entertaining, their story is filled with all of the first love feels and drama that your heart can handle. I cannot wait to see what the next installment holds for Mallory and her dashing young suitors, I imagine that there is plenty more drama and feels to come. Highly recommend this one, it’s charismatic characters are bound to keep you thoroughly entertained, and have your heartstrings feeling quite the tug!
I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion.
Three boys to occupy her time. One who kisses like a dream. One who knows everything. One who is hot and cold like a Katy Perry song. Three weeks in London is going to seem like a life time and yet…be done before we know it.
Displaced by her evil over lord parents…or signed up for an adventure most kids would “die” for, you be the judge. Just know I have dibs on Noah…
I can’t wait to see what week 2 brings.
Oh my gosh. I am loving these characters! An American Girl in a foreign exchange program befriending a group of British Boys. Yes, please. I love all of the different relationships in this story. The characters are really interesting and fun. There is plenty of drama, flirting and sexual tension.
I’m not sure anyone writes better YA stories than Jillian Dodd. She has such a great grasp on how they live, what’s important to them and the complex issues they have to deal with in regards to entering adulthood.
I feel like we are going to see a lot of growth from Mallory by the time this story is over. I want more and I can’t wait for the next part of the story.
A great YA read! What a perfect introduction to Mallory! She’s sassy and not afraid to speak her mind. The story line flows so easy, I was surprised at how quickly I finished the book. The interactions within the characters keeps you interested always wondering what could happen next. I was even reading their voices with English accents in my head. The boys (Noah, Harry and Mohammed) are such a boys club! Loving how their stories began and looking forward to more! The Exchange (London Prep Book 1)
I started this book and finished it in one day. From the first chapter I was completely sucked into the story. I really wish I could have done an exchange program as a teen but this story has given me a window into that world. I can’t wait for the next book in the series.
I could not wait for the first book in this new series by Jillian Dodd. I’ve loved all her books and couldn’t wait to fall in love with a whole new set of characters. Im in my 30s and her books are like a guilty pleasure to read. Its like Im going back in time and living vicariously through her younger characters.
This series is YA with a side of drama, sexy but not too sexy scenes, and laugh out loud moments. What I love most is that you not only connect with the main characters of the book but you also fall in love with all the side characters too (loved Mohammad, and all of his confidence). I liked Mallory, Harry and Noah (pretty sure he’s one that could make you fall in love with just one smirk) and cannot wait to learn more about each character as the series goes on.
I feel like book one was just an appetizer, setting the reader up for all the fun, dramatic, hotness to come in the next installments. Plus its filled with hot British boys so how can you go wrong. I cannot wait for more.
I’ve never been more excited to go back to school! I thought nothing could top Jillian’s Keatyn Chronicles, but Mallory and the guys of Kensington School are giving my favorites a run for their money. London Prep is the perfect amount of YA drama with an extra side of hot guys to keep you on your toes. Get ready to pack your bags and head off to school for three weeks of fun, friends, and hotties abroad. I can’t wait for more Mallory, Noah, Harry, and Mohammad! So excited to see where this adventure takes Mallory during the rest of her exchange (we’re only in week 1 here people!).
As usual, Jillian Dodd has captured my full attention! I’ll admit that at first I was worried that this would be a rewrite of her Keatyn Chronicles but I was pleased to see that Mallory holds her own! The story is fun and flirty and the perfect YA read. As usual, there are a group of boys making Mallory’s life more interesting and leaving the reader wondering who she will choose. Personally, I’m cheering for Noah but I enjoy all of the stories!
This is book 1 in Jillian’s London series and I am eager to continue the story! No cliffhanger, just a truly enjoyable read. Thank you as always Jillian for sharing your talent and love of fun with us all!
I loved this book and the characters! But I always love whatever Jillian Dodd writes so I’m not surprised! It’s such a fun high school drama and I can’t wait for the next one.
