Ambitious. Intense. Irresistible. I never wanted to fall for a man. And definitely not two men. They tear me apart until I don’t know how I’ll ever be whole again. Until I’m not sure I want to be. I’m feeling the loss of Christopher and Harper in a big way. I feel gutted and happy. What a fantastic high and low. What writing that can twist you inside out and leave you emotionally wrung out and sated at the same time.
Skye Warren is a weaver of tales so profound you must ponder what it all truly means. My head is still reeling and my emotions are all over the place.
God , I loved Sutton, even more than Christopher. I’m still angry with Christopher! Harper, who was twisted in the middle of these two,. What a gripping triangle. I think these three will haunt me for a long while.
I am forever changed in what love can do.
Harper is struggling with impending death of her mother and the destruction of the library. She is fighting the inevitable even in her relationships with Sutton and Christopher. Her refusal to accept the realities she faces have her ping-ponging between the two men. While both try to keep her at arm’s length she forces them to acquiesce to her needs when she can’t or won’t deal with her emotions. Only in acceptance does she finally shatter and then becomes whole with the man she loves.
This is the 2nd book in the series. You will need to read the other books in order. The Evolution of Man is the exciting conclusion in the Survival of the Richest Series.
The Evolution of Man picks up where we were left hanging on the side of a cliff and wondering what was going to happen next with Harper, Christopher and Sutton. The story starts 6 months after book 1 ended.
We find that not only do we have a M/F/M relationship with Harper, Christopher & Sutton. We also have a M/F relationship. Sutton has always wanted Christopher. He believe that if he could have Harper he could have Christopher also.
This story revolves more around the library, and has more symbolism in it. The story has an abrupt ending. It doesn’t leave me with closure.
I did receive a free ARC Copy of this book. I am freely leaving a review.
Truth…i have never feel conflicted about a book that make me write a different review from my GR review. I even have to do marathon re read this duet to atleast know what to write here.
The Evolution of Man is the conclution from Survival of the Richest. When the first book end with Harper heart break, i hate Christopher with all my heart and hope Sutton can be that man for Harper. But ofcourse, Skye Warren won’t make it that easy.
What you see is not what you get.
With Christopher, that line is infuriating. The way he keep pushing Harper. His indifference, his alloofness, his coldness…i think his background create that. Make him put his wall even for the woman he love. He crave more than life it self.
And Harper….there’s things i love and hate about this girl. From the out side she is that rich spoiled girl you just love to hate. But really, she’s lonely and crave love and sometimes inpulsif. There’s innocent vibe from Harper that just makes her easy to love but her princess attitude have her own appeal. I hate how she can’t be adult woman and take what she really want. I hate how she seems plint plant on her own feelings. Causing so many heart break between the three of them, really.
And Sutton…he need more. He got too many unreveal secrets. He need his own story. And how he feels about Christopher and Harper….gaaaah! Skye Warren sure know how to create complicated characters.
I couldn’t pin point the bad and good guy. Couldn’t choose the main guy to love.
Strong characters. Twist plot. Cause dang it! I didn’t expect THAT steamy scenes in Harper bed room! Truth….the ending feels like it need book three.
I need more interaction between characters for me to choose who to love. I need more to understand all the feelings behind all the steamy with these two man.
Told from Harper POV, my heart break with how strong she try to be with her mother condition and her own heart condition. Over all, Evolution of Man is full of strong complicated characters and simply story of love that brake so many heart to find each other
I love being able to visit Tanglewood and I’m so glad that Skye Warren lets us come and visit her characters in that little world. It’s a very messed up town, but all her characters fit into that world really well, no matter who they are.
Harper now owns the library where she staged her protest. It isn’t in the best condition, after being nearly demolished, but she’s bound and determined to bring it back to its former glory. She wants to help the Westside come back and knowledge is one way to do that. Of course, she also wants to save the art in the library, especially the beautifully sculpted wooden wall.
She’s also having to watch her mother die of cancer. Harper doesn’t like her mother’s choice to not seek treatment, but she will do everything she can to help her mother during this time. Except look at the Death Plan.
And she has to do all of this without Sutton or Christopher at her side.
Skye Warren has managed to put so much emotion into this story. Just one part of the storyline would’ve been a lot, but when you get everything together, it’s so intense. There’s just so much going on between Sutton, Christopher, and Harper. They are all tangled up together and they have so much space in between them and those spaces are both vast and tiny. This is something that Skye Warren does so well.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.
The Evolution of Man is the second book in the Survival of the Richest Duet from Skye Warren. You must read Survival of the Richest before The Evolution of Man or your going to be so lost.
I never wanted to fall for a man. And definitely not two men. They tear me apart until I don’t know how I’ll ever be whole again. Until I’m not sure I want to be. How can I choose between two halves of myself?
If you have read the first book you know that it ended with Christopher leaving Harper and Sutton and he were no longer business partners and he was gone too. Harper is so in love with Christopher but also has feelings for Sutton. I personally loved Sutton. In the first book he courted Harper, though I wasn’t sure if it was for the reason that he had feeling for Harper or if he wanted to stick it to Christopher. All the answers come in The Evolution of Man. I am not gonna lie. This book was so hard for me to read. I do not do books with cancer and Mom’s in it and this one is full of that. It just triggers so many memories for me. This is also where you find out what happens to the library. And exactly who ends up together and who doesn’t. I was just left with one question but the back of the book promises the answer.
OMG, what a conclusion!!!
This is the conclusion to the Trust Fund Duet, and OMG, what a conclusion!!! This is a love triangle like no other. Skye Warren does an amazing job of bringing her words to life. Her writing is brilliant. The story grabs a hold of you from the start and doesn’t let go until the end. There is money, greed, love, lust, sizzling sex scenes, heartbreak, and friendship. You will ride a roller coaster of emotions and the angst level is high! My chest physically ached, I cried, and the sex scenes had me panting and wanting more! There were twists and turns that I didn’t see coming. Just when you thought you knew what was going on, Skye throws a curve in there that you never expected.
Skye did a great job of writing the main characters Christopher, Sutton, and Harper. They were all complicated, intense, beautiful, and broken but oh so addicting in their own ways. You will want to root for them all. The secondary characters who have appeared in previous books by Skye made cameos in this book. They are great additions to this gripping story. I love seeing these characters and getting a glimpse of what is going on with them even though their book has ended.
If you like angst, twists, turns, and panty-melting sex scenes, this is your story! I loved it. I want more! It is a must-read in my opinion. I can’t wait to see what Skye Warren has in store for us next!

I am just kicking myself right now for not having had the time to read Survival of the Richest. Even not having read the first book, Evolution of Man is amazing! I could tell from reading this one that Survival of the Richest was just as good, if not better.
The dynamic between Harper, Christopher, and Sutton is intense in a way that I have never read before. Again, totally kicking myself because that dynamic is flushed out and set up in Survival of the Richest, so don’t be me, and make sure you read both books!
Skye Warren is the master of creating chemistry, drama, and the ultimate sex scenes. But this book is so much more. I cried with Harper and the difficult situation she had with her mother. I had to go grab a glass and wine and fan myself after Harper, Christopher, and Sutton were all in the same room together. I loved Harper’s determination in restoring her library. There is so much here that you absolutely NEED to read this entire duet. (Review by Terrie “Jane”)
The book is sexy, sad, intense, sexy. It’s full of different emotions. Christopher , Harper and Sutton. They are leaving in lies. The book is full of crazy hot scenes. The story is about Harper being caught between Christopher and Sutton. The end amazing. When I started reading I couldn’t put it down.Skye Warren is magnifysent and amazing writer.I cannot wait to read more of there books.Keep up the great work. You should definitely read this book.
Wow highly intense, pulling out all the emotions to this story. The Evolution of Man brings us full circle with Sutton, Harper and Christopher and the roads they take in this crazy story of love, lust, and loss. Running through the gambit of emotions Skye brings it all together with her beautiful writing.
What a supurb conclusions to the Trust Fund duet.
Talk about a book that knows how to mess with your emotions, Damn Skye Warren knows how to bring out those tears, the book is intense, sexy as hell and packed with Drama.
Wow, the conclusion of the anticipated Trust Fund Duet, Evolution of Man, BLEW…MY…MIND trying to figure out what is happening, but it is a hot as hell romance! This story is captivating, entertaining, and intriguing which also makes it very interesting. When reading the story, it may make you feel sad, confused, appalled, and even euphoric. With a compelling storyline, scorching love scenes, mind-games, secrets and lies, this book was well written by Skye Warren. Skye Warren presents one of the most unseemly potential love stories, and slowly takes you through so many heart wrenching emotions. This is the ultimate love triangle between Sutton, Harper, and Christopher. Being torn apart by her lovers, Harper is not sure what to do. Christopher and Sutton lives by their own morals, their own code no matter what as long as they win—mainly competing with each other is a challenge. How long will this three-way love affair lasts? The competition—Bardot vs. Mayfair! Two powerful men—vying for the heart of one woman. Who will win the fight? Place your bets—this will be one round you surely do not want to miss! The scenes are well written, fast-paced and flow smoothly from one scene to the next while the strong charismatic characters draw readers in and refuse to let go—binge read the duet!
Oh my word The Evolution of Man is the dramatic conclusion to the Survival of the Richest !! This is am amazing ride filled with heartbreak, seduction, lies, steam and so much angst!! I loved Harper she is such a dynamic woman but you also feel for her and the heartbreak that she has endured. Her struggle with Sutton and Christopher was explosive and such a learning experience for her . You can watch her grow into herself as the story unfolds! They are each complex but thrown together they are an enigma and you can’t stop yourself from wanting more of them !!!
Loved it !!

It actually pains me a little to write this review.
I have long been a fan of this author and I have been following these characters, which first appeared as side characters in another series. I was looking forward to them getting their HEA.
Finally it happened, because Harper and Christopher fought hard, against their connection, against their own demons, against interference and against love, but their story lacked the engaging plot line that we’ve come to expect from this talented story teller.
The angst-o-meter needle was in the red zone for most of this story and unfortunately my attention to the characters and their story started to wane.
This of course is only my humble opinion, and I confess I’m not much for excessive angst. Please don’t judge it on my words alone.
This is the conclusion to Harper’s story. You have to read Survival of the Richest first. The series is brilliantly plotted. The story is compelling. The characters are complex and believable. The story is gripping and heartbreaking. I love how Skye Warren crafts flawed characters that you embrace and root for. Amazing, must read series!!
The Evolution of Man is the second book in Warren’s Survival of the Richest duet and picks up six months after the first book. Book one was intense and I expected this second book to have lots of angst. It did, but was even more emotional than I thought it would be. I have been going back and forth about who I wanted Harper to end up with. One minute I’m team Christopher and the next I’m team Sutton. Even now that it’s over, I’m not 100% sure if I’m happy with the outcome, though I think it makes sense given the story. There were several twists in this book that added to the emotional intensity and the action was steady throughout. I really loved all three main characters and their relationships. Warren had me completely invested in their story and had enough twists and plot to keep me flipping pages furiously.
I’m going to he totally honest… I didn’t agree with the ending. I mean after the author shatters your heart, she could at least given the readers more. I just wanted to throw my hands up, like what was that?!
The first novel was definitely better. This sucks you in with lots of intriguing parts. It has the ability to make you dive head first with each new scene.
Harper had a lot of growing up to do. This novel takes her to that next step. She comes to a crossroads with not knowing who will give her what she needs the most. Her mother’s health declines and the unlikely trio tackle topics differently.
It has loads of anticipation with a climax that will you shatter you.
It’s easy to get sucked right into Harper’s story…
Oh wow, Skye Warren knocked this book outta the park! It’s way outta there! I’ve read several of Skye Warren’s latest books and this duet, or trilogy depending on how you look at it, is probably one of my favorites! It was sooo emotional! Skye Warren writes like a dream… steady and so full of life and emotion. Ms. Warren took her writing, her story, her characters to a whole nother level… it was so charged with emotion. Feeling all of Harper’s pain… all her thoughts and how desperate she felt at times; it really made you feel like you became a part of this story. It consumed my mind for days once I finished the story.
I struggled back and forth with how I wanted this to go… with what man I felt Harper should end up with. Gah… it’s so hard to write a review on this book. This was one of the best conclusions that I’ve read. I tore through this book. It was so fast-paced. The heat level was perfect and so hot! Ms. Warren tells a fantastic story… I loved the way she made me question what I really wanted to happen. There were twists and turns, again, that made me question my own thoughts. I loved the last few trilogies/stories that Skye Warren has given us but this one, it is just really full of heartbreak and inspiration.
I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that… my opinions.
“Love isn’t supposed to be painful.”
This is the conclusion to the Trust Fund duet and one that I have been highly anticipating. Harper’s life is a complete mess and she might even be going a little crazy. While reading, I felt everything she was feeling and wished that I could ease just a little of her pain. Parts of the book had me on the edge not knowing completely where the story was going. Skye Warren did an excellent job with this duet. It is a sexy and emotional read with a perfect ending.
“Sometimes you need the darkness to shine.”

The Evolution of Man is the 2nd book in Survival of the Richest and the conclusion of the Trust Fund Duet. The Evolution of Man was an emotional book to read! It’s Christopher, Sutton and Harpers story.
This book was even better than Survival of the Richest! I totally fell in love with Harper and the way she took care of her mother. Skye Warren sure knows how to make The Evolution of Man a Hot & Sexy book to read!
Although this is the end of the duet there will be more per Skye Warren. Maybe it will be a spin off or a 0.5 book. But, it is the someone that I need to know more about! I don’t want to say because then it would give away the ending and who Harper got her HEA with.
