Ambitious. Intense. Irresistible. I never wanted to fall for a man. And definitely not two men. They tear me apart until I don’t know how I’ll ever be whole again. Until I’m not sure I want to be. I loved the first book. This book was good too – until the end. The end just felt so unfinished. Too many loose ends. Very rushed.
I never wanted to fall for a man. And definitely not two men. They tear me apart until I don’t know how I’ll ever be whole again. Until I’m not sure I want to be. How can I choose between two halves of myself? This is the second book in this series and after the bizarre relationship between Harper, Sutton and Christopher gets heated and very interesting the story line became more into a better line of understanding, although I didn’t feel there was a clearer explanation and conclusion with Sutton. The sex in this book is scorching hot and it was so addictive I could not put it down until it was finished.
The Evolution of Man is book two in The Trust Fund Duet and it brings even more drama and angst and wow moments than book one. Book two continues to focus on Harper’s wish to rebuild the library in Tanglewood, and at the same time her relationships with both Christopher and Sutton, as well as her feelings and the added stress with having her mother be really sick.
Throughout the course of this book Harper has differing relationships with both Christopher and Sutton and it isn’t always clear who has good intentions or where the book is ultimately going to lead with this regard. It sure is not lacking in a steaminess factor that is for sure.
There was so much angst and so much back and forth and I was invested the whole time wanting to know what ultimately was going to happen with these characters. I did struggle a bit with some unanswered questions toward the end of the book, mainly related to Sutton and his role in the library and his relationship with Harper as he seemed to just exit the story very abruptly but otherwise I overall enjoyed the story.
This book was the ending of the Trust Fund Duet where we see Harper fall back and forth between Christopher Bardot and Sutton Mayfair. I still don’t know if I’m happy with her choice in the end.
Harper was one character that I really loved. She was so strong yet also so afraid of living the same life as her mother when it came to love. Then again, she was so sure of herself during specific moments. I found myself wanting to be like her. Harper losing her mother and all the ways she tried to run from the inevitable loss was something that struck me on a visceral level. Although I was able to feel the loss just like I had in my own life, it was in a different way. I hated the pain she felt. I understood the stubbornness she maintained.
My heart went out to her because she fell for two hard as nails businessmen who would show up enough for her heart to become involved and then leave her which would have her questioning any decision she made. Her constant frustration was easily understood
I really do think she deserved to have them fight more if either wanted her much less loved her. She let them get away with too much and still went back for more.
I accidentally came across information that led me to know how this story might end. I think if I had started this duet completely blind, it would have been a completely different experience.
I will say the sex scenes were definitely erotic and took me on a different ride then I’ve experienced before. I enjoyed that part of this story very much.
Even knowing how this story would end, I’m really glad I read Harper, Christopher and Sutton’s duet. I’m really looking forward to reading more of this author’s work.
These three cannot get it together and figure out who they want to be with. This story is packed with so much. There are twists and turns that will keep you guessing and some that will get you on a rollercoaster ride of emotions. I had to really think as I read this book. It was not one that I could multitask and still follow. I like those types of stories. A story that I cannot predict how it will turn out. , one that keeps me on my toes. Christopher, Sutton and Harper need to figure it all out and I felt as if I was a fly on the wall watching them struggle.
Erin Mallon is wonderful for this duet. Having a consistent narrator, made the transition from one book to the next smooth and kept that characters consistent. Ms. Mallon has a variety of tones to keep the characters distinct and easy to follow. Ms. Mallon has an easy to listen to voice and I always get lost in her narration.
This is Book 2 of the Trust Fund Duet.
This is the story of Harper, Sutton & Christopher. Such revelations come to light in this story regarding Sutton. It’s a myriad of feelings for Sutton for two people. Harper knows she has feelings for two men. It’s so back and forth with the three of them. Harper’s mother is dying from cancer. It’s a gruesome and trying time for her, also. After her mother passes she lashes out from anger at Christopher. This brings a light to him and regret for how he’s handled his love for Harper. There is a happy ending in all of this, though. This series is very different from anything I’ve read so far. It will hold your attention because of it. I’m looking forward to Sky Warren’s next book. I love her writing.
I’ve been waiting on pins and needles for the conclusion to the Trust Fund duet. And with THE EVOLUTION OF MAN it’s finally, finally here!! Finally. Can you tell I was desperate? I mean, how could I not be with the way Skye Warren left us hanging with Harper St. Claire, Christopher Bardot and Sutton Mayfair?
This is going to be vague as hell, but you should experience the seduction and mind-games of this amazingly twisted and smokin’ hot tale yourself.
The story surprised me from the very beginning, because – minor spoiler alert – I didn’t expect it to pick up six – SIX – months after the end of the first book, in which life for Harper has changed drastically. She is still a woman caught between two vastly different, yet not different at all men. A woman who has to face more heartbreaking and sensitive matters than is healthy. And yet, she’s only come out stronger, more mature, and maybe she will finally be able to decide what and who she truly wants… who will she choose? Will she choose someone at all? You’ll have to read to find out! I’m just saying that in my opinion she did the only right thing there was.
There are a few things I love about Skye Warren stories above all else: She has an insane talent to create dark and edgy heroes who remain an enigma through most of the story, where each revelation given about them serves another twist – another total change of course of the whole story in addition to all the other jaw-dropping moments she was able to weave into the storyline. I absolutely love the depth of her tales, the complexity and flaws of her characters and the webs of lies, intrigue and angst she creates which make everything happening so unpredictable.
Full of angst, more emotion than you might expect in addition to all of the things listed above this was a worthy conclusion to Harper’s story.
What will be next? I seriously cannot wait to find out…
The more I listen to the series the more I fall in love with it. Once again this book kept me hooked all the way to the end. Erin did amazing narrating again.

I couldn’t wait to devour this book. The first left me wanting–no NEEDING–more and so this book couldn’t happen fast enough. The narration, the story, the twists and turns are all perfection.
You want to know why Harper feels the way she feels. You want to know the allure, the draw, the desire.
Skye Warren nailed this duet.

Just like in life, there’s destruction in death. whatever walls are up they have to be destroyed so new life can begin. Harper couldn’t save her mother, she couldn’t save the library she wanted so much to rebuild. a new life and a beginning comes from the rubble of the broken down library. just as a new life begins with Harper. What an emotional story full of symbolism. Skye Warren has another great story full of emotion, love, Lies, finding truth and the one person who has always been there for Harper. Erin Mallon narration is so emotional . The anger, love, despair, defeat is perfectly spoken. #audiobookobsessionreview.
This book starts not too far after where the first in this series ended. In this book Harper learns some very important life lessons as well as surviving one of the most difficult things a person could. It is such a struggle to watch the pain that these three go through, but this duet ends with the perfect ending. I loved this series. Both author and narrator went above and beyond what I could have hoped for and then some.
**4.5 stars**
Umm… Woah. If I thought book 1 was steamy and hot, I was in for it when it came to this one! HOLY CRAP Y’ALL!!!!! This book had some S.T.E.A.M.
TEoM picks right up where Survival of the Richest left off. Since beginning the first book I don’t really know who I like more… Sutton or Christopher… I honestly don’t think I could still pick after finishing the sequel. I kept going back and forth between the 2. A lot has to do with the way Skye Warren can make you fall for them in one scene and go to hating them in the next. It was such a crazy experience.
Such an amazing duet not just about the steamy romance over Harper falling for 2 men, but her finding herself in the descruction of something she holds dear to her heart. And someone who has raised her to go for what she wants.
This is the second book in the Trust Fund Duet Series. OMG! I love this Duet! The story begins where Survival of the Richest ended. In this story, we learn more about Christopher, Harper and Sutton. I love all about this story: the characters, their chemistry, the amazing story, the sadness, and the hope. Erin Mallon did an outstanding job with the narration. She has a wonderful voice. I enjoyed listening to this audiobook and totally recommend it. #AudiobookObsession
AUDIOBOOK VERSION:
Oh Man! What an ending! This book ran me through the ringer and I am not even mad~ These characters.. I want to hold them… I want to yell at them… I want to be them! Ok, not really but this book brought me so far in that i feel like i really know them and am completely invested in the outcome. This series is one of the best i have read in some time. Soo many feelings… I love that the characters were not perfect. They were all flawed in their own way and that just endeared them to me.
If you don’t see a huge READ ME sign flashing here, use your imagination. You need to read this series.
Erin Mallon absolutely owed this book! She gave an amazing performance that made this amazing book that much better. I don’t know what else to say. It was perfection
HIGHLY RECOMMEND

The end?????????
This is supposed to be the end of this duet and IT IS, but I can’t help be disappointed. And it has all to do with me, I pictured a different ending but don’t worry it’s HEA.
Warren has a writing style that’s making the characters come alive and made realistic.
The storyline in this duet is nicely built up and moves slowly through a labyrinth of emotions and feelings.
There’s some beautiful and intense love scenes that I will remember.
No unnecessary descriptions of surroundings.
If you like intensity, romance and a tangle of emotions this is perfect
Narrator:
Clear pronunciation and read with feelings.

The Evolution of Man by Skye Warren, narrated by Erin Mallon.

Sad, intense, disconcerting, emotionally charged and I was wishing for more. The lives of these characters was a jumbled up mess. I was sure they would never find the way out, I’m still not sure they did. The conclusion to me was a little sketchy, there was something missing. Hopefully Skye will comeback with a novella an update. Inquiring minds, I need to know.
Hooray to Erin in her narration, she made you feel the melancholy, the joy all the feelings to inject life into this story.
I had no idea where this one was going to go but I had so much fun getting there. This duet was like my favorite addictive reality show. (If you’re thinking I’m too sophisticated for reality tv, girl same I meant chess. But if there is a real housewives of Tanglewood I’m going to devour it.)
There is angst, mind games, buckets of money, power struggles, love triangles, art and civic responsibility (see those last two, I told you it was sophisticated 😉 It had me guessing right up till the end.
I can’t wait to revisit this world and these characters. Erin Mallon is a dream narrator and Skye Warren slays the game.
I would recommend this to fans of reality tv and Greek mythology.
This book had some great steamy scenes. I am glad she was able to help provide for her mom. I liked the book but it took a weird turn in one area and never gave the reader much needed answers. So many odd things were done by Christopher and I felt we deserved some kind of explanation, backstory, etc. Something! Also it doesn’t give an ending. Frustrated to get so involved and engrossed in the story but weren’t given what we needed. The narrator really did an outstanding job, her voice and passion really drew me in.

The Evolution of Man
By: Skye Warren
Narrated by: Erin Mallon
Six months later, and these confused characters are still trying to figure out who they belong with and why. I couldn’t wait to listen to Harper, Sutton and Christopher’s story and how it ended up. I have to say, Skye Warren has packed this story full, including wealth, love, health and relationships with not only significant others, but parents and friends. It’s fast paced, full of twists and turns and steamy scenes. I at times could not decide who I liked and who should be together, and I loved that. It’s not a book that is a cookie cutter romance, but has so many facets, it makes you think as you listen. Harper has it tough, and I am glad I was able to experience her journey with her.
Erin Mallon is amazing as always. She has such a great storytelling method that I get lost in her narration. It’s full of all the emotions, from love to death and she pulls on the heart strings. A perfect match for the this duet, Mallon brings it all to life.

Audiobook Review:
The Evolution of Man (The Trust Fund Duet #2) takes place six months later. This is not your typical love triangle as it’s more about civic duty and the arts, mind games, power struggles, and wealth of money. This author creates dark & edgy character’s who remain a mystery through most of the narrative. Supporting character’s accentuate the narrative. The electrifying moments between Harper, Christopher and Sutton were stormy. I absolutely loved the depth of her tales, the complexity and flaws of her characters, the web of lies, intrigue and angst she creates which makes things that happened unexpected. A fabulous duet with an ending that leaves you desiring more with unanswered questions.
Erin Malon ended this duet perfectly. Her performance was impeccable.
