The Escape by Lola Gabriel is the second stand alone book in the Chosen series. In this book, Ash a Gaia witch is kidnapped and forced to participate in a sort of gladiator games in an alternate universe from Earth. During the games she meets Sander, who saves her life in the games but ends up back in a cage next to her. After talking while caged together they plan their escape. This story is a non-stop adventure where these two have to save each other over and over again. This book was so intensely exciting I couldn’t put it down. This is definitely a fantastic read that I really would recommend for anyone looking to read a great paranormal adventure romance. The Escape is a fast paced story of romance and adventure.
This was a fantastic heartbreaking yet heartwarming new paranormal romance from Lola Gabriel. Ashlyn is a Gaia witch, kidnapped and forced to participate in a gladiator type of fight with huge monsters. While in this situation Ash meets Sander a demon shifter who is being tracked and wanted dead. The Escape was full of suspense, danger, humorous wit, sass, hatred, heartache, passion, and love. Readers will be sucked into this captivating alternate dimensional story from the very beginning. I really enjoyed reading this book and can’t wait for the next book in the series.

The book is a good romance read. The story has a good story line. The characters are good, and they have good chemistry. The story is an enjoyable
This is a very intriguing story that is fairly fast paced! It’s a quick read that is also short and fascinating. I enjoyed this nicely written story and captivating plot. Love the characters! Ashlyn and Sandner are thrust into a deadly game but both come out better in the end. Great chemistry between these characters. Overall, this is a good read.
This is a great story and seems to be part of a bigger one. The two main protagonists are the only survivors of a brutal and fiendish gladiator-like game with a hellish swamp as the arena. Now former ranger Ash and the immortal Daitya Sander team up to escape betrayal by Ash’ former partner and being hunted down by Sander’s nemesis. A nice enthralling story with the added romance that turns steamy hot for Sander and Ash. I really enjoyed reading this book.

Intense! Ashlyn Drake and Sander participating in the games, wisely teamed up. Their repartee was a stress reliever, I guess. It was funny, but made the drama seem less dire. Sander was involved in many life and death competitions over the years. Sadly, he died many times but always came back wiser from lessons learned. It seemed like there was a lot of backstory missing or a prequel? The Baron is in the middle and seems an influencer and catalyst. The story needed to be longer to bring the reader in and get anchored. Nice story. I received an ARC from Booksprout for a review.
Wow this is one fast paced thrill of a ride with action and chemistry between the characters. I found myself on the edge of my seat with every turn of the page.

This is an interesting if albeit short book. The truth comes out about everyone by the end with a twist I wasn’t really expecting. I’m sure some readers will guess before the end but I wasn’t one of them. This is as much a fast paced adventure as a romance and it kept my attention. Lots of sexual tension but not a lot of sex. Great reading for a rainy afternoon.

Action from the start. Loved it! It is a short story but, amazing read. The writting and plot are wonderful. The characters are interesting and unique. A game you have to survive but, you have to learn to trust a person you do not know to survive. That is the situation of Sanders and Ash. The story has action, danger, survival and suspense.

The H and h are fighting for their lives by surviving the “games” and need to trust each other in order to make it out alive.
Well worth reading! Can’t wait to read the next book in this series.
The reader is kept guessing to the end on who, what and why behind all the crazies that is going on. I can certainly say it was not anything I imagined it to be.

Wow! You jump heads first into the plot. This has a fast paced form the very beginning, but is still well paced. There is a great intensity to the action packed story. I am voluntarily leaving a honest, unbiased review.
This story opens with Ash and Sander unfortunately involved in a gladiator style game with no hopes of escape in another worldly realm. Obviously they do escape these games, but that is just the beginning of their trials, tribulations, and attacks. The main person stalking them is Arthur, who like Sander is hundreds of year old immortals and shifters. Ash is a Gaia Witch and only adds to this mixture. Story is interesting and action packed with well developed vivid characters. Good read!

What an exciting book! This one starts off at a run and doesn’t slow down until the end. Ashlyn finds herself in the middle of a fight for her life, sans Hunger Games. The only thing she can figure is it’s because she has made “The Baron” mad. Come to find out, so has everyone else. Enter Sander, arrogant and cocky, with an attitude implying a hidden secret. They could come out alive IF they work together, that is, until an evil demon from Sanders’ past shows up. Now what? You’ve got to read this one. This rollercoaster of emotions will keep you perched on the edge of your seat and the twists, turns and contributions of the other characters will keep you guessing how this will end.
I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book.
This book is well-written with a fast paced intriguing storyline, the worlds the author creates are well created and explained. The beginning of this story is slightly confusing but you get more information as you read. I really liked Ash and Sander as characters, they are well described and flawed enough to be relatable.
Entertaining story, a real wild ride…
