This book. Holy sweet baby Spiderman. This is the third book in the Rich Boys or Burberry Prep series, and it breaks from the structure of other two a little bit. Where we didn’t really get to see the summer before first year or between first and second years, part of this book covers the summer between second and third years. After the way the second book ended, trust me, you want it to.
For those of you lamenting that the series has been slow burn, lament no more! Things pick up in this book and the relationship between Maryne and the guys becomes much more clear. Slightly entwined with that is the chessboard that the school becomes this year. This book is very much about social warfare for the elites of Burberry Prep. Where I thought we would start getting a lot more answers, I sort of feel like we actually got a lot more secrets. There was a lot of unseen stuff going on in the Infinity Club. It’s driven me a little crazy because I’m desperate to know what happened, but I’m not actually sure that we’ll find out now.
There were a fair few curve balls in this book. Some I thought might be coming, others I definitely didn’t. In general, I loved this book. I must have re-read it in full at least 3 times now. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve gone back and just read passages. I am so excited to see how this series ends in the next book, although, I’ve got to admit it gives me heart palpitations thinking about what might or might not happen. Knowing this author’s style, Book 4 is going to be a rollercoaster that I can’t wait to ride.
The story continues, but this time it’s not Maryne versus the world, she has the boys at her back. Which to be honest is a good job as we all know a woman scorned is not going to be fun to deal with!!
But anyway, I must admit the more I read of this series the more I wish the author had spent a little more time researching.
There’s quite a few typos going on and double wording which is a shame as it distracts from the content.
As for the story its good, but as I mentioned in my review of the previous book there’s repetition of events with slight tweaks. It’s one of my pet hates. Originality is the key to my heart.
Therefor I’m giving this 3.5 stars.
This series keeps getting better and better! I’m loving it! Everything is escalating and I see something major coming and I can’t wait!
To be honest, not much has happened in The Envy of Idols. Not much that hugely adds to the plot anyway. Marnye starts to officially date all the boys and she loses her virginity to a fellow virgin which I found quite sweet. I had the feeling though that she was seeking company of certain boys over others. I am sure she loves all her boys equally, but sometimes it came across like she was playing favourites.
I really love Miranda’s character and I feel so bad for her that her feelings towards Marnye are not returned in same way. But it is amazing of her be so supportive of Marnye and the unconventional relationship that she has with the boys. She truly is an amazing friend.
I am not fan of Lizzie and Tristan’s relationship. Just what is going with these two?! Do they still have feelings for each other? Because there were times I felt like they were still in love with each other. I am not sure how exactly the author plans to bring it back around and make it look like Tristan wants Marnye and not Lizzie.
I really like Marnye, I do. But what I didn’t like is her constantly comparing the poverty she grew up in with the wealth that surrounds her. Yes we get it, your dad is poor, you don’t need to keep on reminding us. I think it was meant us to feel sorry for the way she grew up but really, it annoyed me more than anything.
I absolutely loved the game of twister as well as truth or date. Damn, things got quite steamy during that one!
Also, is it just me or is it a bit weird that the author decided to promote her other works within the story? Each to their own but I am not sure I agree with this method of advertisement.
Anyway, I cannot wait to read the last installment and see what Marnye and the boys have in store for Harpies and Company.
Say what!?!? The Envy of Idols will not leave you disappointed. This is the third book in the series and hot dang is it on fire.
Third in this series. I have to say this is the most interesting one so far. I have loved the other two but there was something about this one that grabbed my attention more. This one is all about Maryne and the boys fighting back. She is forgiving them and they have her back. How difficult is it to love so many different guys? Yes she has to make a decision when it comes to them. But they dont make it easy on her at all. At this point all of them are head over heels in love and trying to fight it so to speak because she has not made her decision on which one she wants. Things pick up in this book and the relationship between Maryne and the guys becomes much more clear. Five guys vying for her attention does bring some hot & funny situations throughout the book. I love the chemistry between Maryne and Miranda. I absolutely love that these two are best friends but yet something more if they want it to be. Miranda will always have her back no matter what. Lizzie is a hard character for me. I dont like what is going on with her and Tristan. There is something there but you have to hold on until the next book to see what it is. Again another cliff hanger and what a cliff hanger indeed. But i absolutely love this series and highly recommend it.
I love these books! I love these characters! And i love that this author keeps you on your toes the whole time.
Dayum!?!
After all Marnye has gone through and the guys are actually helping/coming to the rescue…she still can’t find a happy ending when her F’n mom shows up to be a major problem! Ugh!?! On to the next! #HappyReading
MIND BLOWING!
Wow! This book is a complete one eighty from the last. Marnye and the guys go from one end of the spectrum to the other. I’m shocked and I just can’t for the life of figure out where this is all going. I’m dying to know who Marnye is gonna choose. I’m so tempted to jump ahead and find out but I don’t want to ruin it. I think Zack is the front runner. I really thought Zayd would be right up there fighting for her but he’s kinda been hangin back. I think Marnye should definitely let Tristan go and I think Creed is gonna end up getting hurt and Windsor I still can’t figure out. He’s very mysterious it’s driving me crazy but I don’t think Marnye has very strong feelings for him. I think she loves him but not as a lover. AAAAAHHH! I love every minute of it. I EXTREMELY recommend this series to everyone. Now I have GOT TO get to the next book. 🙂
I absolutely am addicted to this series and the characters. With the boys on Marnye’s side the revenge will be even sweeter. Once you start reading this series you won’t want it too end. I want the next book ASAP. I’m loving #TeamCreed but I can’t wait too see who exactly Marnye chooses.
Fantastic series
Wow things have gotten a whole lot nastier at Burberry Prep. I feel like I just got off this crazy wild emotional rollercoaster. Also it’s really interesting to see things start to shift more towards a romantic setting and their not a suddenly a problem free situation in regards to the guys and their feelings with Maryne made for a more enjoyable and entertaining read. Anyway, I enjoyed this book. This series is so addictive for all the angst and trouble rich boys it had, Maryne was a total badass for all the hardcore situations that was thrown her way. There wasn’t one moment where I wasn’t reading this book without a smile on my face. So looking forward to seeing what else is in store for this series.
Oh my god this is book 3 in the series and we Fina!ly start to see Marnye call head over heels in love with the five guys…Tristan, Creed, Zayd, Zack and Windsor. But they thing that we need to know is what a going to happen between them all, will she choose just one of all five. nd what Bout Harper and her cronies? I just we’re going to find out in the 4th and final book. I’m So I in love them all of them. I give it 5 stars
The first two books I really liked
This book was boring nothing particularly happened in this book
A little drama a little bit sex scenes whom she chose first was disappointing to me
Because I have the feeling that this person will eventually betray her
Ending was a bit shocking at the moment, this series is moving beyond what I don’t like.
Thank You!
Wow.. this book seriously took the breath out of my lungs with that cliffhanger!
Things have gotten a whole lot nastier at Burberry Prep in this third year. The war for dominance has left bloodshed in it’s wake. On the plus side, things seem to be somewhat looking up for Marnye and the guys — a whole lot steamier too. Of course, not all great things last and there is always a twist in the plans. Four year will surely shake all their foundations!
This series is beyond incredible and I cannot wait to get my hands on the next book! Addicting and amazing! A must read!
“But I’m telling you what it looks like as an outsider: you have five guys in love with you.”
Windsor York is amazing! I love him. For now, lol. Let’s see how this ends, shall we…
These books keep getting more intense! The stunts they pull, the payback. The connection between Maryne and all the boys. Their relationships are all unique . I’m sad to have to sleep at times and put it down haha. Can’t wait for them last chapter!
At 1st it felt a bit like a soap opera, it beagan to pick up after the middle and while I can apreciate the revenge plots it dragged for me with the heroine asking her would be Heros to not use certain tactics repeatedly.
also while I enjoy that this is a RH and she may end up with all 5 the constant doubts of at least 2 of them won’t be choices got me irritated because it was not done in a way of intrigue more like a teenager with doubts (and yes I am aware technically she is only 17) this is my reason for not reading many YA books. Lastly she gives more attention too 2 – maybe 3 of our Heros more attention making it feel those would be the only we’ll find in then end.
While this book has not been my favorite, almost expected beacuse at times middle books in series are just a look into the characters current dilema with no resolutions, I am still hooked and will read book 4 as I have my fave Heros while hoping she will just keep them all #whychoose
*Swoons* Damn was this hawt!
The Envy of Idols is so full of angst, chemistry and sexual tension that is off the charts. I am so invested in all these characters I need Maryne to end up with all of the guys.
I loved watching the guys and how they become protective of Maryne and are redeeming themselves.
I am so excited to see how their final year at Burberry Prep ends and seeing how they all decide they will share Maryne.
Holy. Sh!t!!!
This series just got better! Not one but five hot guys, yes please!!
Pay backs a b!tch at Burberry Prep, and Marney has achieved in spades! Now it’s time to take some Idols down and it was amazing! Can’t wait for the next!!
