People say you can’t find your soul mate at eight years old. I did.I found Reed and loved him more than I loved myself. We were young…beautiful…entitled.Money and private schools, our families’ lavish parties and posh New York City apartments—it was all mere window dressing. How do I even begin to describe how amazing this book is?!?! I seriously have no words, but feelings? Yeah, I have an over abundance of those! Love, heat, passion, sadness, fear, anger, despair. This book pulls you in until you completely pulled into its vortex. The characters are beautifully flawed with a timeless love. I absolutely loved this book! Now onto the second book…I can’t wait!
This is an Incredible story that has gripped my heart! It has absolutely gripped me like nothing I’ve read in a while! Tess and Reed have loved each other since the age of 8 and their decisions and circumstances have taken them through so much throughout their young lives. My feelings have run the gamut and that speaks to Cassandra Robbins’ ability to weave a beautiful heartfelt yet heart wrenching story! This is what I am sure to be one of my favorites of 2019! I can’t wait to begin The Enlightened (Book 2)! This is Ms. Robbins debut and it is unique, enthralling and phenomenal! I highly recommend it!!
I am absolutely loving this series!! This is a newer author to me and after reading this I will read everything she writes!! Tess and Reed have kept me hooked beginning to end and I couldn’t put it down
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book
So I received a copy of this book for an honest review and this is my first time reading Cassandra Robbins. I love a romance that starts during childhood and Tess and Reed meet at the age of eight and Reed knew right away that Tess belonged to him and only him. This is a duet and there is a lot to this story, we get a lot of history and you really get to know this couple. I honestly feel this would make a good mini series, there are so many scenes and several characters and oh the freaking drama, there is no shortage of drama and angst, maybe too much at times. This is a long story, don’t go in thinking it is going to be a quick read, make sure you have the time. I do recommend it though and I look
The Enlightened was brilliant and heartbreakingly beautiful from inception. Cassandra Robbins eloquent writing will whisper to your heart and soul. In this story you learn that love has the worst timing. But denying your heart and creating barriers for protection can only cause extreme pain and heart break. But can these shattered soul see the silver lining that is staring them in the eye or will they push their happiness away? If you want to find out one click now. Readers I guarantee you will be taken to emotional heartfelt heights unimaginable. You will yearn for the happy moments and cherish the sad. Love is comforting but tragic at times. Cassandra Robbins, I am in awe by your imagination. Simply Amazing
I really love this author’s books so far, but this one did have a lot of back and forth. Tess was weaker in this book, which I didn’t like. Overall not a bad book. I hated Reed at times though.
I received a free copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
This story took me on a heck of a roller coaster ride! I enjoyed the unique storyline and the characters. The parents are self absorbed and the children are way too young to be allowed to do what they want, but somehow the story grabs your attention until the very end and leaves you anxious for the conclusion! I received this book at no cost in exchange for my honest review.
How can you put into words all the emotions you feel after reading this amazing book. Cassandra made my heart ache for Reed and Tess. They endured so many terrible times and yet when I thought things were going to okay she throws in a twist. Oh my word this book is so freaking amazing that I couldn’t put it down!!!
My first book by Ms. Robbins and I was definitely impressed. The Entitled was angsty, emotional and riveting.
I need more. This book was absolutely amazing. Cassandra is a new author to me and I love her writing. Angst, rollercoaster, beautifully written and so good. Can’t wait for book #2.
Oh man this book. Very different from what I normally go for. I actually spent most of the time pissed at a least one of the characters, but still the story Is fantastic and I highly recommend.
Captivating and Intense!!!!
This was seriously a great book. I can’t believe this is Cassandra Robbins first book. Her writing is fantastic and every word felt very heartfelt.
This story was one hell of a rollercoaster ride!! I was so up and down with my emotions while reading it. I wanted to laugh, cry and throw my kindle at the wall. The story kept me at the edge of my seat with anticipation on what was going to happen next.
I highly recommend this book and I cannot wait to start reading the next book to finally see if Reed and Tessa get their happy ever after.
Ummmmm, holy smokes! What a rollercoaster of a ride! I love books that make me feel things and The Entitled made me feel….ALL. THE. THINGS. Cassandra had me hooked from page one and never let me go. This book is set in a world many of us simply can’t relate to. NYC is the playground of the rich, the famous and the entitled. But once you strip back the veneer of the money, the parties and the opulent lifestyle, you find that money does not buy happiness. Reed and Tess are introduced at age 8 and the moment they meet, their destinies are forever linked. From that moment forward they are forever changed. Book one in the Entitled Duet follows Reed and Tess as they live, love, fight, break up, make up, make promises, keep secrets, and are torn apart. Their connection is pure fire, a powder keg of emotion set to explode. They can’t live together, but they can’t live apart. Reed is completely obsessed with the gorgeous Tess and she is equally obsessed Reed, the beautiful broken boy. Book one ends in a cliffy, but you will want to completely immerse yourself in their world. Cassandra has written a fabulously angsty book that will leave you wanting more.

My take on this book:
This was the debut novel by Ms. Robbins and I loved it. She has a writing style that kept me intrigued from the moment that Reed and Tess met. There is so much emotion in this book that I would tell you to keep tissues handy. I can not wait for the next book in the duet.
Till the next book ~ Nancy
Wow, this was a new to me author, and boy have I been missing out. She writes as if you are there beside the characters and I often found myself wanting to scream at them. Gah this book pulled all the emotions out of me. Definitely a must read.
This is a first for me from this author. I’m pleasantly surprised that this is Cassandra Robbins debut novel it was beautifully written and I liked the push and pull from the two main characters Tessa and Reed. I’m quite the fan of antsy reads because the novel is not always so cut and dry their is more to the story so it keeps my interest and this book is no exception. This book is a coming of age story; both Reed and Tessa meet at a very young age and are drawn to each other early on. There are many ups and downs with their relationship, there were times when I wanted to throw my kindle and other times when I swooned because you really felt how much they cared for one another but as they mature each makes mistakes, while trying to grow up and find themselves which alters their path; the question is can they find their way back to one another and truly be happy or will they be destined to be alone?? I loved this story and look forward to see what happens in book 2. Great read!
5 WOW, JUST WOW STARS!! Reed and Tess kept me on my toes. These two found their soul mates at an early age, it was so beautiful to watch. This story had all the feels with lots of angst. The author does a great job weaving in the past and present of everything going on. I need the second book in this duet The Enlightened, now. Looking for a great book look no further.
The title of this book gave it all away I thought, until I started digging deeper. I am stunned by the emotions present in this book. Hate, Anger, Love, Obsession – Cassandra Robbins brings them to the forefront in her debut novel.
Reed and Tess are obsessed with each other, so in love they can’t find their way out. At the same time Tess’s mom and dad are two of the most grotesque models of vanity and self importance I’ve ever seen. Their own neuroses could be catalogued individually in the DSM-V. In order to punish Tess’s mother, Tess’s father takes Tess from her mother. Not to protect his daughter from the mind-altering weakness of her mother, simply to punish her.
When Tess and Reed find their way back to each other as young adults the passion and obsession are still right there. The continuation of bad habits, Tess’s complete unwillingness to face truths and communicate effectively and Reed’s continuing anger management issues made me want to throw my phone more than a few times. I remember feeling these things as a teen and young adult, Ms. Robbins just magnifies Tess and Reed’s issues beyond imagining.
Just as things seem to be calming down and Reed seems to be reaching for some maturity, they both step on that final straw and it all comes crashing down. Cassandra Robbins gives us a cliffhanger that left me in tears.
4.5 stars for me
I had a goal in 2019 to read a new to me author every month. This was my January read and what a fantastic one. Found a new author to stalk.
This is the type of YA story that has you wanting to both hug and slap the characters. The first kisses, the tummy butterflies, the friendships that become more. Then you get to the mistakes they make. Boy are they brutal. Young hearts are broken and the amount of pain they cause each other is exactly why I love YA books. I legit wanted to read into the Ipad and smack Reed in the face at times. Seriously! But that’s also why I loved it. The author was true to the age group she was writing and their mistakes are what make them great characters. Who didn’t do stupid things when you were 15 and 16. I know I did.
Gotta say the cliffhanger ending is brutal but I luckily had book 2 to dive into immediately.
HOLY FORKING SHITAKE MUSHROOMS!!!! When a fellow book babe recommends and ask if you want to read this book, DO IT. This is a new to me author this year and I am so greatful for the introduction to her books.
Because of adulting it took me longer than I wanted to read this but it was Sooooo worth it. Reed and Tess’s relationship is full of ups and downs but they are soulmates and should be together RIGHT???
It was like riding a rollercoaster of emotions that never seem to end!! So much angst and certainly love in this book all the way to the end which brought the rollercoaster to a screeching halt.
Now on to bk 2 in this duet and oh boy need to make sure I am buckled in for the ride again!!
I can’t wait for more from this author in the future.
