Spencer, Lord Wolverston and newly named Earl of Kinraven, intended to find peace in the wilds of Scotland, far from the torment of wanting the one woman he believed he could never have. But his inheritance has come with a price he had not foreseen… a curse that is slowly driving him mad. He sends a desperate plea for help to his friend, the Duke of Briarleigh, but that plea is intercepted by … by the last person he wishes to see… the Duke’s sister-in-law, Miss Larissa Walters, the women he left England to escape.
Larissa has struggled to put her past behind her and to overcome the abuses she suffered at the hands of Lord Moreland to whom her stepfather had owed a gambling debt. Spencer had saved her then, and now, she knows it is time to return the favor. She sets out on her own to show him, and perhaps herself, that she has the courage to face her fears… and to love him as he deserves. But all is not as it would seem at Kinraven. There is darkness there—plotting, lurking, waiting in the shadows to destroy whatever happiness they may find.
Can love truly conquer all, or will the darkness consume them both?

Good reading
The Enticement of an Earl (Dark Regency #3) was a great read by Chasity Bowlin. Spencer, Lord Wolverston and the Earl of Kinraven have found peace in Scotland. The new found peace comes crashing down around him when the woman he desires but cannot have, shows up on his doorstep. She is injured from a carriage accident. Miss Larissa Walters fled London, seeking out Lord Wolverston. She’s hoping that Spencer can save her again when old threats return. I enjoyed reading this book and cant wait to read more by the author.

I liked this one, and was eager to see these characters together. I think I may have needed a bit of a palate cleanse after the first two because this one just didn’t take me on quite the same ride as the first two did. I wanted more from the MCs and more from the story. I was expecting more background on both of them, and the story, well, it was pretty much the same – it could have used a little spice. I mean, it was a good plot and interesting settings but after the first two it felt a tad cookie cutter. But then again, if it ain’t broke, why fix it? Even though I wanted more from Spencer and Larissa, I would still recommend this book. It’s an interesting world that Chasity has created and I did read book four before doing any reviews, this was just not my favorite from this set of characters.
The third book in this series is about the attraction we have seen in previous book between Spencer, Lord Wolverston, newly named Earl of Kinraven, and Larissa Walters, sister of Emme, now Duchess of Briarleigh. Spencer sends a desperate letter for help to his ducal friend, Rhys. Since he and Emme are in London, Larissa opens it and decides to go to Scotland to help. What she finds after 6 months separation is a shell of the man she loves. He is being driven mad – but how and for what purpose? The other inhabitants are his Scottish cousins, Finella and her niece, Katherine. But the servants are an odd mixture especially the butler and housekeeper. Spencer has a difficult time knowing hallucalinations from reality. Plus Larissa’s own gifts of seeing possible futures and picking up emotions are blocked. What ensues are adventures and mysterious happenings explained by witchcraft. By it is evil that blackens the human heart, the pursuit of money, profit, envy and jealousy that causes the harm. Just when you think you know the guilty one, the plot twists and you are surprised! The love which blossomed between Spencer and Larissa when he rescued her from the greed of her stepfather and the horror she endured by being the pawn in paying off his gambling debts could not be denied. Larissa faces her fears and Spencer helps her to see them for what they are – a building block forming a wonderful woman! The addition of Rhys and Michael at the end helped to bring these three wonderful books their happy ever after!
