Noah Reilly has lost everything. His job as an Enforcer, his place in the world, and his ability to bond with a mate. All he has left is a made-up job with the Nashville wolf pack, tracking down nonexistent rogue shifters in the daytime, and running his wolf like a demon at night. Then one night his wolf gets caught in a bear trap, and a human woman risks everything to save his mangled leg—and … his life.
Mina Reston is trying to hold her life together, struggling to re-establish herself as a veterinary surgeon and animal researcher—while fighting a custody battle for her four-year-old son Brock and trying to convince him he’s not really turning into a werewolf. She has no time for the scorching hot guy she meets in the local coffee shop, even when he appears to be everything she’s ever wanted.
But when Brock’s werewolf fantasies turn real, Mina finds out her ex has been harboring dangerous secrets. Forced to go on the run with Brock, she turns to Noah for help—and finds herself plunged into a new world where love and danger go hand in hand, and only the ultimate sacrifice will save them all.

Awesome story, fantastic plot! It keeps you guessing from the first word till the last. Full of drama, danger, mystery, murder, mayhem, betrayal, secrets, and unbelievable characters both good and bad! Will they be able to save the trapped shifters? Can they rescue her son in time? Will she survive so she can be claimed by her true mate? Will evil destroy everything she holds dear? They will fight to death to protect what is theirs. Is it to late for them?
This is my first series of books from this author and I have to say I am hooked.
Each book has improved from the one before without losing the heart of the series.
I have been reading through KU but will be buying them. I am now a fan of this author for life.
This book starts off with a kick and carries on right to the end.
I felt sorry for Noah at the beginning as he feels like he lost everything due to the evil Selina. He was on a downward spiral and was not going to be able to stop. Meeting Mina and her special son Brock was fate sorting him out and rewarding him.
I really laughed when he woke up in wolf form in the cone of shame.
Mina is a very intelligent woman. She is a qualified vetinarian but has had a traumatic time in the last few years and I loved how resilient she was and dedicated to Brock. So sad how she had been manipulated and abused by Robbie
Loved how in this book we get so many questions answered. Not a conclusion but a clarification of some major points from earlier books.
Once again a very enjoyable read.
Of this author’s books, this one is my favourite. The characters are flawed, nuanced and so relatable – depressed Noah struggling with his addiction, worried Mina fighting simultaneous battle for custody of her son and for protection of wolves from poachers, and adorable Brock hiding his alter ego from his so-called father. The way these three come together to become a family in a greater community of apparent misfits has me rooting for them and wanting to see how they win. It does not matter how many times I have read this book, I have to re-read it and see again how Noah, Mina and Brock become a family.
