Many fall as the last enchanter rises… too. It shouldn’t have been a problem, he was my vitmea viramore, after all, and I was used to having the weight of the world on my shoulders.
What Seb doesn’t know is that everyone in the magical community is after him—even if they don’t realize it yet. They’ve been looking for him for centuries; not only for him, but for his soul. But they never counted on him having me. I will protect him with my every breath and take down anyone that gets in our way. His soul belongs with me, not in the arms of evil.
The Enchanter’s Soul is the second book in The Ellwood Chronicles and is a continuation of Sebastian and Ailin’s story. It contains explicit material and is intended for mature adults 18 years of age and older.

A magical addition to the series. Full of so much emotion I absolutely loved learning more about the characters and watching not only themselves grow but also their relationship. Again this one had me on the edge of my seat and I’m so excited for more!
Anytime I see an LGBTQ+ that isn’t contemporary my interest is instantly peaked. I really enjoyed the first book of this series, so when I saw the second one was on it’s way out I knew I’d drop everything to read it.
This picks up right where book 1 ended. We see a lot more of Ailin in this book. Most of the chapters are from his POV, unlike book 1 which was mostly Sebastian. I really enjoyed learning more about Ailin. He gave us a lot more insight into the world and magic there. We got to see a more complex side to him, and I loved it! Sebastian is still my favorite though. I don’t know why I connected to him so much, but I would literally do anything for him.
I loved that this book focuses more than just the romance as well. The world-building and prophecies bring a lot of excitement and action into the story. The story did start a bit on the slow side, but once it picks up, wow! The second half up the book was amazing and the last 25% was spectacular. There are scenes that will have you at the edge of your seat, and scenes that’ll make you choke up.
This was a fantastic continuation to the series!
This is the second book in The Ellwood Chronicles and you must read book 1 The Enchanter’s Soul in order to understand this one. The Enchanter’s Soul picks up where the last book leaves off. Sebastian has just found he has magic but can’t control it, doesn’t really want it and is a soul mate to Ailin. He has feelings for Ailin but wonders what is real and what is from the magic.
Ailin is worried about Sebastian and all the weird goings-on in the world with the paranormal popping out when they usually don’t. He is worried someone is going to figure out there is an enchanter and come for Seb.
This was another interesting, nailbiting story once it got started, The first little bit was a bit slow and there is some constant yo-yoing on Seb and his feelings for Ailin but all in all the book is great.
I listened to the audio version and I think that makes it better. Kenneth Obi gives the characters a lot of life and adds excitement to the story with the proper emotions like chuckles sighs and giggles.
I love this series and am ready to see who is next.
This book is an excellent follow-up to The Enchanter’s Flame. The characters are further developed, the world building is creative, and the writing is smoothly done.
The story is filled with one thing after another disturbing the supernatural world. Ailen, Seb, and family find themselves trying to sort out odd situations and find the reasons behind them. Something is messing with the “supe” world , and it needs to be sorted soon.
Then, of course, there’s the fact that Sebastian is the last enchanter. This fact alone causes problems on its own. There is a prophecy…and it might possibly be worth heeding.
The relationship between the two MCs evolves throughout the story, some worthy angst, some happy times, and due to the nature of the viramore bond, some serious codependence. There is a new couple brought into the story, and they have their own book coming out along with the next book in this series, according to the author’s notes. I will definitely be grabbing that one; there’s a mystery that needs solving, and I think that’s where I need to look.
Overall, the story is full of action, love, family, and lore. It does go a little dark with a fairly detailed torture scene, both from an outsider’s POV and the subject’s. Just FYI. I’ve read a lot worse scenes. But, it’s a great read.
Happy reading!

I absolutely loved this book! I had a hard time putting it down once I started. There were times I cried and then laughed myself silly! Can’t wait for the next one. Definitely read it!
Ellwood clan is back! Trouble is brewing in town. Teenage drama and Sebastian’s magic abilities keep Ellwood family’s days occupied. Ailin and Seb are slowly building their relationship but all is not as it seems. Ailin is keeping secrets, and Seb is resisting his magic. Many secrets are uncovered, Ailin finally makes peace with Emrys, new family members arrive – it’s both happy time and a time to prepare for battle.
I loved how patient Ailin was with Seb, how slowly they opened up about their feelings. They constantly bantered. Seb’s fear of little critters was hilarious but Ailin was very good-natured about it. This book features Ailin’s POV more, and we get to see how much he loves Seb, to what lengths he will go to protect him and keep him safe. He was so tender at times which was in contrast with his usual acerbic demeanor. We finally got to see him as the head of the family, and all the responsibilities he had because of it.
Sebastian still does not want to believe in magic, even though he can feel the connection with Ailin. Always a loner, he has a hard time letting people in. But Ellwoods open their arms to him, and he soaks all the affection like a sponge but one little misstep, and he will revert into his aloof self again. But Seb’s hesitation nearly costs him his life, and the help comes from unexpected source, one, that even after it’s gone, gives devotion and affection. After the ordeal they’ve all been through, he will not take his life or his love for Ailin and his family for granted.
There were moments so intense that I was scared they won’t make it. Sebastian’s enchanter’s heritage puts a bullseye on his back. When truth about his past comes out, he finally accepts his destiny. This fight is only the beginning, and it will take all their combined powers to keep everyone alive and safe. I loved it! It was fast-paced, humorous, fierce and a bit romantic. A delightful read that I highly recommend!
The Enchanter’s Soul is the second book in The Ellwood Chronicles by Michele Notaro. It’s a paranormal romance that continues the story of Allin and Sebastian that started in the first book. Oh how I love these characters and the amazing story Michele Notaro has crafted here. This book had me feeling so many feels… I admit I was fearful at times of how it would all pan out… I was caught up in this journey and invested in their fate. I am so excited about the next installment of this saga. This is definitely one of the stories I will re-read and still be taken in by the whole experience every time.
I received an advanced reader’s copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review and recommendation.
