Harper and Eric are now faced with trust issues. Can they survive their enemies and find a path to love and forever? The third and final book in the Filthy Trilogy. Book one: The BastardBook Two: The Princess
If you did not read The Bastard and The Princess, STOP and read those in order before reading this one! The Empire finally wraps up all the questions or at least as much as possible. Eric and Harper are definitely meant for each other and finally they stop questioning that and learn to accept what they have and learn to live and love each other. Eric’s family is evil, absolutely evil and it is a wonder he has turned out as well as he has although it is only because he was raised by his mother, thank goodness. It will be interesting to see where these characters end up in the future books because you know we are not done with them, this group seem to show up across the other books (YAY!)
Definitely recommend this series along with all the off shoots of this!

The Empire, #3 in the Filthy Trilogy and #10 in the Dirty Rich series by Lisa Renee Jones is a stunning, captivating thrill ride that concludes the story of The Bastard, aka Eric Mitchell, and The Princess, Eric’s stepsister, Harper Evans. Eric has now officially replaced all previous book boyfriends because he is everything that makes a great alpha male: a handsome, sexy, intellectually brilliant, tattooed, damaged, extraordinarily complicated ex-Seal who knows what—and who—he wants and will go to any lengths to protect the few people he truly loves. His character is so complex and compelling, all other protagonists pale in comparison. And Harper is his perfect foil – first as an antagonist and second as the only woman he’s ever loved. Add in all of the characters we’ve come to love from previous stories in the Walker Security and Dirty Rich series, and it’s a treasure trove for LRJ fans.
The Filthy Trilogy is a dark saga of a toxic, corrupt, and deadly family, with twists, turns, and misdirects that keep you guessing—from the first word to the last—who did what to whom, and why. It is an intelligent, well-written story that articulates the hidden darkness within all of us—greed, jealousy, rivalry, desperation, and revenge. But it’s also a tale of redemption, the longing for acceptance, the struggle to reconcile the dark and light within us, and the fear that the darkness will win. I didn’t just read The Empire, I devoured it because the first two books ratcheted up the stakes so high I couldn’t wait for the answers to all the questions left in their wake. And as astute as I am in figuring out whodunits, Lisa kept me wondering until the very end.
That being said, I hoped for two things I didn’t get in The Empire. First, I was hoping for a terrifying conclusion, a genuine life-or-death confrontation that would bring this story to an unforgettable climax. Lisa gave us that in Grayson and Mia’s story, but I hoped for even more from this one. Although satisfying in many respects, the conclusion—particularly for Isaac (indeed the ‘bad seed’ here) didn’t provide the closure I needed for that character. Ultimately, justice was not served to three characters who played such a major role in attempting to bring Eric and Harper down. Second, although I loved the push-pull, trust-or-can’t trust dynamic between Eric and Harper, not to mention their explosive chemistry, there was a little too much of both for my taste, and it felt too repetitive by the end. There was a little too much navel-grazing, particularly on Harper’s part, which weakened an otherwise strong heroine.
Nevertheless, I’m sure I’ll reread this trilogy because of its intelligence, darkness, and complexity—but mostly because of Eric. I want more of him. As Lisa herself might say, “so much more.” Lisa is a master at romantic suspense, her characters are utterly unforgettable, and I can’t wait to see what’s next.

This is the perfect book to wrap up the trilogy. The answers are all revealed. Not all in the way you might have expected. These characters are near and dear to our hearts. Everytime I read a book by this author that’s what happens. The great thing is the end is rarely the last time we see the characters. This one is full of action, suspense, and steamy romance. I received an ARC. This is my honest review.

The third and final book for Eric and Harper. The twists and turns in this book kept me wanting to read. The couple have new challenges such as trust issues and figuring out what to do about Eric’s family. This was a good conclusion for the trilogy.
I received a copy of this book and am leaving a review.

The Empire is a fitting end to the Filthy Trilogy. Lisa Renee Jones wrapped it all up in a package that I was compelled to keep reading and was mesmerized as I did. I found myself catching my breath or shaking my head as this incredibly powerful story that is intelligent, thought provoking, volatile, steamy and lusty unfolded Secrets, truths and sinister plots are revealed. Insecurities plague both Eric and Harper as they navigate the murky waters of the Kingston family’s treachery. It takes every bit of their soul deep connection to keep them from being ripped apart by outside forces.

This has gotta be the most anticlimactic book series/ending that i’ve ever read. The Bastard started off with so much promise and made me believe that this was the start of being a great series, it got me really excited about discovering a new to me author, that had such a great storytelling capability. Then with the announcement that this was changing from the Filthy Duet to the Filthy Trilogy I though awesome great more story, that is until it all became clear with the release of The Princess that this series was overstretched on story quality, just for the sake of making readers buy an extra book to finish what they had already invested time and money on. I said in my review of The Princess that I would only read The Empire because of my time already spent reading and reviewing it and it seems nothing changed in The Empire at all, it was just the same going back and forth between the characters saying do you love me, do you trust me, lets have sex every chapter. The ending was very mediocre to say the least. I really don’t normally rip books apart when I review but this series became such a big disappointment that I just wouldn’t want you to waste your time on it with expectations of it delivering on what it at first promised.

The Empire is an amazing ending to the Filthy Trilogy. You must read this one in order since this does start off where The Princess left off. I loved Harper and Eric throughout this series. They have such a strong bond and chemistry that you can feel pouring off the pages. Lisa Renee Jones does this fantastic job of keeping you guessing on who is behind everything involving Eric and Harper. You are continued to be pulled into their world. Watching them overcome their issues of not only trust but within their families too is an experience. Eric and Harper are still on fire and will have you fanning yourself at times. You will love the twists when it comes down to it. I simply loved this whole series. Harper and Eric stole a piece of my heart in this trilogy. GO ONE CLICK THIS BOOK AND TRILOGY IF YOU HAVEN’T YET.

THE EMPIRE is the third book in the Filthy Trilogy and must be read in order of release, If you haven’t read the first two books not only will you be lost reading this one but you will be missing out on one heck of a story line! Lisa Renee Jones, in my opinion, is a goddess when it comes to Romantic Suspense that will not only heat up your eBooks but will keep you so engrossed with the story that you just don’t want it to end.
In this final chapter of the Harper and Eric’s story so much comes to light and I must admit that the bad guy in all of this is much worse that I every thought and that is truly saying something. Family is a funny thing, for some it’s a blessing but for others it’s a curse. Harper had a great relationship with her father until his untimely death since then she and her mother had a rocky relationship but honestly nothing out of the ordinary….for the most part. Then we have Eric’s family…YIKES! Seriously with the first book being titled THE BASTARD you know things aren’t solid….and that’s putting it mildly. We have a crazy dad, an even more messed up brother, and poor GiGi I don’t even know where to go with her. But the love between Harper and Eric is wonderful and intense I loved these two together, their passion for one another radiated off the pages and the way they fiercely protected each other was amazing. All I can say is WOW! What a Rollercoster Ride this has been because you will wonder who is the good guy and who is the bad guy right to the very end.
This is a must read trilogy for lovers of Lisa Renee Jones, and quite honestly anyone that enjoys a good Romantic Suspense that has as much heat as action in it. Happy Reading!!!

The journey Eric and Harper have been on is wildly bizarre. A needy mother, a conniving grandmother, an evil and manipulative half-brother/stepbrother, the mafia and a selfish a$$hole father. What a family!
Grayson and Mia are the best friends one could ask for. And the Walker Brothers Security group? Absolutely the best! Blake and Savage are my faves in this story.
It can get a bit confusing with all the back and forth and whodunnit, but push through. What you figured out may be true but the why of it all was quite unexpected. And the resolution felt a tad disappointing. There was no justice, only the permanent threat of it.
The epilogue? Just right for Eric and Harper.

The Empire by Lisa Renee Jones is the 3rd book in the Filthy Trilogy. This continues the story of Harper and Eric so you would need to read the previous 2 books in this series, The Bastard” and “The Princess ” first before diving into “The Empire”. This is the final book in the series and does answer many questions that have been burning in my mind. This book does pick up where it left off which was …. Eric was just about to tell Harper this big secret … ugh!! Secrets! Thank goodness this is about done in this series. Eric and Harper finally are able to address what are all the secrets are about and get down to business on whose trying to kill them, what the huge family secrets are, who the evil villains are, work on setting things back to good and see if their ( Eric and Harper) relationship is worth going the distance.
This story has everything in it- drama, angst, action, twists /turns , heat, sizzle, romance, intrigue, suspense and passion. Eric and Harper really had this great connection that made this story move along perfectly. Fabulous and beautiful read!!!

I loved the empire!
This book was so good! We start right where we left off in The Princess, & the mystery & tension for the truth unravels from there. This book answered the questions we needed answers to, and Eric’s final plan was genius! Eric & Harper still had some trust issues to work out, but once they realized that they were home for each & that they fit together, they were beautiful & solid. I loved them as a couple & as individual characters. They were both broken by tragedy, but they grew stronger because of it. It made them love each other fiercely, because they knew it what it was like to lose love & be alone. Eric is a wonderful character – he is a savant, an Alpha & protective of those he loves. Harper is a smart, strong female who doesn’t let anyone walk all over her, & I admire that. This 3 book series is a beautiful love story wrapped in complicated mystery that I loved & didn’t want to put down! I wholeheartedly recommend this trilogy!

This books picks up where the Princess left off. Once again I was absorbed into a world where blood isn’t always thicker than water. With outside forces working against them, Eric and Harper have to trust in their love and each other to come through the other side.
I don’t know how she does it. But LRJ constantly delivers a book that pulls you in instantly. It was a brilliant ending to a beautiful love story. Thank you for these words.

This is the last book in the Filthy Trilogy. If you have not read the first 2 books “The Bastard” and “The Princess”, please read them first.
We left off in The Princess with Harper accidentally overhearing Eric and Grayson talking about a secret Eric is keeping but it’s not what she is imagining.
There are so many ups and downs and surprises in this book. You don’t know who is sending the messages or who is trying to kill Harper, Eric or his father. Is it Gigi, Isaac, Harper’s Mother or the mob? So many possibilities and so much evil in this one family. The old saying comes to mind reading this book….with family like this who needs enemies?
Eric figures out one of the messages contain the document number to a birth certificate. But who’s birth certificate is it? Why would someone send Eric that message? Who is sending these messages to Harper and Eric? This book answers all the questions you have had while reading this trilogy. You will be surprised when you get to the end of the book.

Okay we are finally at Eric’s and Harper’s conclusion with The Empire. So many questions dancing in my head about the secrets and threats. The ending is epic and I promise you, if you have been reading along with this trilogy, you will finally understand whom is behind all of this grief and drama. The why’s. The family drama kept me on the edge!
The Empire is a great read! The sexy scenes were scorching hot! The passion between Eric and Harper can be felt through out the pages. I wanted more… but all good things must come to an end. I love Eric and Harper. I love the fact we get a little taste of Walker Security (they are my fantasy come true 😉 ) The Empire was a great story for a great ending!

An amazing conclusion to a great trilogy! Eric and Harper’s story was captivating from the first page to the last. Not to mention the two previous books. This book picks up right where book two left off. Harper and Eric continue overcoming obstacles to free themselves from the KIngston family as well as surviving more attacks coming their way. I love the twists and turns you don’t realize are still coming and by whom. At times it seems like everyone and I do mean everyone is out to get them. Eric of course being the savant and ever observant man that he is has a plan to end all their worries and make sure the right people pay. Ms Jones has a way of pulling you in to a story and making you not only enjoy the ride but has you questioning what could possibly happen next while weaving in a wonderful romance filled with hot and steamy chemistry for the main characters. This is one of her best works so far. I loved how everything worked out for Eric and Harper in the end and the HEA was wonderful!

Intrigue, Passion & Danger! I found myself reading at the speed of light, with my heart pounding, blood pumping, and on the edge of my seat, trying to get through this phenomenal finale.
As Harper asks the difficult questions, as she deals with the pain of what she has just overheard. Eric lays it all out to explain. Exposing all of his moves, fearing that he could lose her, and after everything he needs her in his life. But although Harper now knows Eric’s secrets, he still doesn’t know all of hers.
So with murder in the air and danger all around. Harper and Eric’s hot passion, burns deep and wild as desire consumes them alive. Sizzling caresses, cause tingles through every part of their bodies as they crave the seduction that their love and connection brings and make them an us. But with so many players and so many secrets, it will take more than just Eric’s Savant abilities on his own. But with the help from secret messages and the men of Walker Security will they figure it out before any one else dies? You will need to read to find out. Don’t miss this exciting, passionate and thrilling final book in this series.
