Harper and Eric are now faced with trust issues. Can they survive their enemies and find a path to love and forever? The third and final book in the Filthy Trilogy. Book one: The BastardBook Two: The Princess
The Empire is the final book in this trilogy and as such, it holds all the answers to the questions brought up by The Bastard and then The Princess. It shows just how depraved and vinditice Eric’s family is.
They’re a bunch of sick, wicked snakes. They’ll stab you in the back as soon as look at you, who needs relatives like that in their lives?
Not, Eric, that’s for sure and he’s going to deal with them once and for all. It’s dangerous and puts his and Harper’s relationship on the line.
Will it be worth it?
This was a riotous story with some treacherous twists and turns, a truly emotional and angsty read. Eric is a strong, driven man with an iron will, but when it comes to Harper and her safety, he’ll do everything in his power to protect her from all comers. His love and devotion held no bounds and I just loved his total perseverance and ability to see behind the lines. And when it was all finally out there, what we were left with is a couple absolutely devoted to one another.

So we’ve finally got to the end of all the problems for Eric and Harper it pains me to say this….but I was a bit disappointed. I know I know but I was expecting something or someone else to be the bad guy in this story.
The last book in this trilogy was once again filled with secrets that kept coming towards our MC’s and trying to break them apart. I really loved Mia’s believe in Eric and their relationship. It’s due to this believe that I’m giving this story 4*.
The world that Lisa Renee Jones created with this series is just as unsettling as it is enchanting. I’ve lost count on how many books I’ve read so far and I’m still interested. I’m ready for the next one for sure!

The Empire is the third and final book in the Filthy Trilogy. You do need to read Book one and two prior to reading The Empire. Eric and Harper’s story continues where they left off in The Princess, book two.
Eric is a savant. Harper is his step-sister. They are in love. They have battled through all the secrets, twists and turns from the first 2 books!
After 2 huge cliffhangers, from the 1st 2 books, it was good to finally get an HEA!
FYI the Filthy Trilogy is a spin off from the Dirty Rich Series in case you want more by Lisa Renee Jones, whom I consider her books as Must Reads!
I have thoroughly enjoyed reading this series and now I need to know what is next since, this is the conclusion of the Filthy Trilogy.

4.5 Cranky Stars
The Empire finally gives us the much-needed answers about who is hunting the Kingston family and how Eric and Harper are involved. I was so excited about that because for two books I’ve felt there is no way this whole story line can come full circle with all those mysteries and secrets. I always had assumptions but wasn’t sure until now.
Harper and Eric are just trying to get to the bottom of this mess so they can start their life the way it should be lived. With date nights and walks down the street without security trailing behind them. Without feeling like there are eyes on them with every step. His father is in ailing health and several people stand to inherit so it’s anyone’s guess who the culprit is. Gigi is running, Issac is in the wind, and Harpers mom is having a breakdown. When all the secrets come to light it could be a breaking point for these two or a catalyst to trigger Eric’s savant nature and having him shut down. They band together and with help from friends they finally put an end to this madness and those who need to be dealt with are getting the ultimate punishment.
I’m glad I stuck with this series. I was kind of on the fence when the last two books were just so much secrets and sex and secrets and sex. I’m guessing that is how Eric and Harper solve problems. Who knows? I love that they finally got themselves together and decided to be a untied front and not keep anymore secrets. I am happy to report they are still banging like rabbits. Issac you are shady, and I hope you enjoy your life. The Empire is a good ending to the life of Harper and Eric and the drama of the Kingston family.

The Empire is the epic conclusion to Eric’s and Harper’s story and this author does not disappoint. Throughout the trilogy, Eric and Harper have both been strong, confident, and likable characters. They have great chemistry between them. There was betrayal. Secrets were exposed and there were surprising revelations. The Empire ties up all loose ends and the two finally get their HEA. Just a few things that caused me to drop it to 4 stars. I felt that some of the dialogue was redundant with Eric’s fear that Harper will leave and Harpers constant reassurance that nothing will change how she feels. I also felt parts of it when determining who was doing what were a bit repetitive. Overall I really enjoyed the book/trilogy and I plan to go back and read Grayson and Mia’s books as they sounds like interesting characters and I would love to learn more about Savage! I received this book for free.

The plot in this book/series is full of intrigue, suspense and grit. It is complex with twists and turns and uncertainties that keep you guessing and wondering, there’s murder and some violence during the course of the three books, and yes you do need to read all three and in order or the story will not make any sense. The two main characters have their share of pain from their families and even a bit from each other at times, his genius can cause him to react differently from what is needed on occasion until she understands that is what it is it can hurt. This is a story that never stops giving it has you hook, line and sinker deep in reading, lost to everything but the power contained within the pages. It has you trying to guess and work out who is behind what’s happening and the threats and even if you work that out there are still more lies and events to come at you. This is author Lisa at her very best and at the top of her writing skills, it isn’t just romance though there is plenty of hot and steamy and some sweet mixed in, this covers mystery as well. Fabulous series and I say that because you can’t just review this as one book it encompasses the whole three, where one stops the next picks up so it is only complete after this third book.

4 super sexy stars!! What a finale!!
This is book three of the “Filthy Trilogy”! What a way to end all of the lies, half truths, secrets and plots! I think this is one of the craziest families I have met. Just when you think you have someone figured out… new twist!!
With the first books, “The Bastard” and “The Princess” you are left with so many questions and not sure who is on your side. You are given these two “black sheep” (Eric and Harper) who have everything stacked up against them. And then you fall for them (ok I fell for them hard!). But everyone is trying to break these two. Everyone except Eric’s new family (which I am also in love with).
This trilogy was fantastic. I loved that I had to keep changing what I was thinking or feeling because I never knew who was the bad guy.
The chemistry between Eric and Harper is off the charts. I love them both for being so strong and loyal. I worried about Harper’s true intentions so many times. Eric has a way of getting you to feel the same as him. I just know this book is made up of so many in depth characters. I love/hate them all!
This is a trilogy you want to pick up right now!!

Watch for an enemy around every corner! Elizabeth @ Carolina Chic’s Read
This story will give you whiplash with all the twists and turns! You just have to hold on for the ride. Eric may be one of my favorite SEAL characters yet. He’s just is sexy and so stinkin’ smart.. you just can’t help yourself. Eric has to put everything on the line and that includes his relationship with Harper.
I loved all the tie in’s and the chemistry of all the characters. This is the reason I never miss a Lisa Renee Jones release! 5 STARS AMAZING SERIES!

The conclusion to Eric and Harper’s story is finally here! The Empire by Lisa Renee Jones was one wild ride full of unexpected twists and turns everywhere! We pick up right where we left off in the previous book and never look back. But we also saw Eric and Harper grow as a couple and become stronger, together!
Eric and Harper are trying to figure out not only who is after them, but also how to truly trust each other. I loved Eric throughout the series, but he blew me away in this book. He was strong and determined and nothing could stop him. Harper was a strong heroine but needed to let herself truly open up with Eric. And yet, their chemistry was always insane!
The Empire (and the entire Filthy series) by Lisa Renee Jones was suspenseful, steamy and captivating. I could not stop reading, as I wanted to see how it would all end. I loved these characters so much! One thing to note is this is a trilogy and must be read in order.

Happy reading

The Empire is not a standalone. You will want to start at book 1 to get the beginning of Eric and Harper’s story.
The final conclusion is here! There has been so many questions since book 1. As a reader, you just didn’t really know what was going on, all the way to the end. I love when I am kept guessing like that.
There were a lot of family secrets, hatred between certain family members and possible sabotage but you were never sure who was the true target and who was the true enemy.
During all the family drama, Eric and Harper learn that they are meant for each other and both see how far the other was willing to go to protect the other.
Another fabulous trilogy from Lisa Renee Jones that tied in the Walker Security men. I’m sure we will see more of them to come.

Intense, really intense.
This author knows how to pull tension from my guts and keep pulling until the very last word.
It’s exhausting and demanding and I love it 😀
This is the third novel and the conclusion to a story that started with The Bastard and continued in the The Princess. The savant in Eric is out in the open for Harper to understand, love and support. This woman is made for him, she’s resilient and all on board with his peculiarities. As a couple, they’re struggling with trust issues as much as with the secret enemies they have to uncover in the Kingston family.
It’s a tangled mess of murderous conspiracies that had me glued to the tension of the plot. And the immense weight of Eric’s demons can be felt like a ton of stones. I loved the deep connection between Eric and Harper, and also their fears wreaking havoc in their relationship.
I know they went through similar things in book 2, but here they reach a summit and I can’t have enough of them, so I relished every tug, pull, pinch, push and thrust between them 😉
I feel like these characters are raw and naked in this final book. We get to really see into their dark recesses. And there’s this sense of threat that coats the air all throughtout the story until the very charged, ugly resolution.
Once again, I found it fascinating to watch Eric’s genius mind at work, how he deals with his condition and how he solves every challenge, now with the one woman by his side who loves him all the way. I think it’s a solid, satisfying closure to their story, very intimate and passionate too. Nothing to complain about that juicy department 😉

The Empire by Lisa Renee Jones is book Three in the Filthy Trilogy. This continues the story of Harper and Eric, so you should really read the previous books, “The Bastard” and “The Princess ” first to fully enjoy their story here. Lisa Renee Jones keeps you on your toes throughout the whole book, both Eric and Harper emotions run high as they continue to work together to find out what happened between the families and why someone is trying to kill them!
Will Harper and Eric find out what really happened or will this be the end for both?

For Harper and Eric at their worst is when they do their best work. Surrounded by danger, struggling with secrets and plowing through the collateral damage of their current situation is an adventure in itself. The Empire is the culmination of a love gone wrong fighting it’s way right. Jones has a lock on anticipation. The Bastard was the spark that lit the candle, The Princess and highlighted the main event, The Empire. Temptation breeds anticipation and this series definitely delivered.

THE EMPIRE is the third instalment in Lisa Renee Jones’ contemporary, adult THE FILTHY erotic, romantic suspense trilogy focusing on billionaire/Navy SEAL and second in command to Grayson Bennett, Eric Mitchell, and heiress Harper Evans. Eric was first introduced in the author’s DIRTY RICH BETRAYAL (Dirty Rich #4) but you do not have to have read the previous series to understand or follow the story. As per most of Lisa’s series, there is a cross-over with inclusion of some of the characters from the author’s Walker Security series including Blake Walker, Savage, Adam and Smith. THE EMPIRE should not be read as a stand alone as it picks up immediately following the events of book one THE PRINCESS.
NOTE: If you have not read the previous instalments, there may be some spoilers in my review.
SOME BACKGROUND: Six years earlier, Eric Mitchell, the bastard son of Kingston Motors CEO Jeff Kingston met his father’s new step-daughter Harper Evans, a woman Eric dubbed The Princess, but a woman that stirred something deep within our story line hero. A one-night stand followed by the realization of who and what Harper Evans represented further pushed Eric away from his birth right, as the spare to the heir of Kingston Motors. Fast forward to present day wherein Harper and Eric, now in a relationship with one another, find themselves a target of an unknown assailant hoping to end them both.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Eric Mitchell and Harper Evans) THE EMPIRE picks up immediately after the cliff hanger of book two THE PRINCESS wherein Eric and Harper receive some unsettling news about Eric’s father, a man who is no longer able to defend himself. Hoping to protect themselves from further exposure, Eric and Harper surround themselves with Walker Security as they continue to investigate those closest to our leading couple. But Eric has kept secret his earlier attempts to destroy the family, and Harper knows much more about Eric’s past than she was willing to reveal.
The relationship between Eric and Harper is erotic and flirtatious, passionate and seductive. Eric’s need for Harper is fuelled by his fear of losing the woman with whom he was falling in love. The $ex scenes are intimate, captivating and intense.
The world building continues to focus on the fractured family dynamics of the Kingston/Mitchell/Evans family, a family connected by blood, marriage, secrets and lies.
THE EMPIRE is a story of betrayal, power, romance and love. The premise is hypnotic, intriguing and suspenseful; the romance is provocative; the characters are larger than life, colorful and dramatic.
