NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLERFormer Justice Department operative Cotton Malone has received an anonymous note carrying an unfamiliar Web address. Logging on, he’s shocked to see Cassiopeia Vitt, a woman who’s saved his life more than once, being tortured at the hands of a mysterious man who has a single demand: Bring me the artifact she’s asked you to keep safe. The only problem is, Malone doesn’t … Malone doesn’t have a clue what the man is talking about, since Cassiopeia has left nothing with him. So begins Malone’s most harrowing adventure to date—one that offers up astounding historical revelations, pits him against a ruthless ancient brotherhood, and sends him from Denmark to Belgium to Vietnam then on to one of the greatest archaeological sites in the world: the tomb of China’s First Emperor, guarded by an underground army of terra-cotta warriors, which has inexplicably remained sealed for more than two thousand years—its mysteries about to be revealed.
BONUS: This edition contains a Cotton Malone Dossier, an excerpt from Steve Berry’s The Columbus Affair, and a short story by Steve Berry, The Balkan Escape.

I always enjoy Steve Berry’s novels and this one was no exception. I enjoy the mixture of fiction, history, and action. Berry always brings an interesting twist to his novels that I love. Additionally, his main characters continue to evolve and acquire more depth.
love all of Steve berrys books
As usual the story is captivating and filled with mystery and intrigue. Highly recommend!
Love the characters! Love the series! Love the premise and plot details! This book did not disappoint!
This is the most boring and lackluster book written by STeven Barry
Well, it was not Somerset Maugham, but I was entertained and kept flipping the pages which was fun. Recommend.
I had actually purchased and read this book before. No matter. It was as good the second time around as the first. This one is action-packed with Cotton Malone and Cassiopea Vitt at their finest. It is not quite as filled with cyphering and cryptics as many Steve Berry books, but it is an action-packed, plot-twisting, fast-paced read.
Love the author and always enjoy his writing style.
Alone, the descriptions of places most of us have never seen are worth reading this book. The characters’ motivations keep one guessing, the events that unfold are often unexpected, and the conclusion is satisfying.
Berry cannot resist the desire to inject woke politics in is books. Turned me off completely.
Another great Cotton Malone story!
Interesting book. I like the way the author tells us what is historical fact and what headed.
Loved it
Steve Berry’s Cotton Malone is the most fascinating character I’ve run across. He’s scary smart and even though he’s aging, he’s as active and vibrant as ever. Start at book one and don’t stop until you’ve caught up.
I learned something new about history while I was being entertained.
Steve Berry is great. One read and you’ll be hooked.
Wish I’d known it was YA novel I was expecting more of a Sigma Force story. I have to admit I enjoyed the premise and the storyline. I may buy others in the series, good clean adventure series
I liked the historical references and the interplay between COtton and Cassieopia. Great characters.
Great book. You can always count on Steve Berry to give a good read
I like reading the authors books. But they are written in a certain pattern. This gets boring after time. This same characters (the main ones) appear in each of his books whether they are there in body or spirit. But you always learn something new about the world from each of his books
