“Mrs. Pollifax gives Agatha Christie’s Miss Marple a rival to reckon with.”—Toronto StarIf you make it across the border, get us help. Some of us care. Do you understand? Right now we desperately need passports and identity papers. The arrests grow insane. At the very hour this message was en route to the CIA, Mrs. Pollifax was waiting for her night-blooming cereus to do its thing. She hardly got … cereus to do its thing.
She hardly got to see it, however, because Mr. Carstairs was already on his way to recruit that gallant lady for another daring mission.
Soon the most unlikely of all international spies was sporting a beautiful new hat—perfect for hiding eight forged passports.

I love Mrs. Pollifax, she is the kind of woman I would love to be when I’m her age, always ready to go, getting in and out of trouble, traveling the world and not at all who she appears to be. All the books in the series are wonderful!!!
Mrs. Pollifax is one delightful and resourceful lady!
Now that I am no longer young, the idea of becoming the next Mrs. Polifax is encouraging. This is a great series, with a great main character. It is not your cookie-cutter cozy mystery. It is, rather, an action adventure with a unlikely heroine. Unlikely, in that women like this really do exist even if they are not part-time undercover agents. Start with the first, and enjoy the series.
Love love love Mrs P. So much fun. Charming characters.
A bit of an old fashioned read but always entertaining. This is the 3rd book in the Polifax series and darn good read if you can overlook the lack of a cell phone.
I love this series!! Great characters and leaves you wanting more.
Mrs Pollifax is a. treasure. All her stories are a delight and are aging very well as they’ve been around for years. I enjoy revisiting Mrs Pollifax every once in awhile. It’s always like spending time with a dear old friend. She always cheers me up.
I want to be Mrs. Pollifax when I grow up.
Mrs. P. pulls off another undercover caper. She’s a delightful character. The book is a fun, quick light read.
I love the Mrs Pollifax series. Funny. Lots of twists and turns. A lovely read!
Interesting character and premise. Quick read.
The book was very slow moving and didn’t hold my attention.
I have read every one of the Mrs Pollifax books and just wish there were more…
Very well done
Delightful
A BOOK I DO NOT LIKE TO PUT DOWN.
I’ve read and enjoyed all of the Mrs. Polliflax books and enjoyed each one.
Mrs. Pollifax is sent to Bulgaria with fake passports hidden in her new hat. But a chance encounter along the way makes things even more complicated then they already were. I actually enjoyed this book more than the first time I read it. Yes, it’s improbably, but it is so much fun.
