THE EDGE OF REASON is a funny, sexy, and emotional best friends to lovers, STANDALONE romance

I’ve contemplated all night on how and what to write in my review. I mean holy heck I’m blown away.
J. Saman is a new author for me. This is book 3 of the series and can be read as a stand alone but now that I’ve read this one I want to go back and read every book this author has wrote.
In the edge of reason you have Margot and Drew’s story. And what a story it is. It’s been awhile since a book has made me cry but this one had me doing just that. Then turning around and laughing.
Once I started reading I couldn’t out it down. The emotional roller coaster ride was exquisite. I was literally hooked after the end of chapter one. J. Saman will have you gasping in shock, as well as yelling st the characters to get their crap together and grow up.
My heart was broken during this book and it was out back together. I for one cannot wait to read more books from this author!
Drew and Margot are my favorite couple of the Edge Series. I love Ms. Saman’s books and when the opportunity to read an early copy of this book presented itself I quickly jumped on it.
I found myself completely relating to Margot and her fears. I tend to get annoyed by the heroines of the romances I read but Margot is definitely one of my favorites to date. This book will have you completely wrapped up in all the feels and bury itself in your heart. This is ABSOLUTELY a must read!!
My emotions are all over the place and my heart is so full! One of my favorite tropes is friends to lovers, and this one is definitely in my top favorites! Margot and Drew are both such intense people who have such an amazing friendship. But can they become something more? Drew has had his share of relationships and one of them was serious, until it wasn’t. So when Drew starts to look at Margot as something more, can he convince her they would be perfect together?
Margot is the type of person you can see being friends with. She loves with her whole heart and soul, but because of her past, feels no one will ever love her back. But when Drew starts to pursue her, can he show her that his feelings go beyond friendship? When something happens to threaten this newfound relationship, can they get thru it?
This author has such a way of getting you so invested in her story, that you don’t want to put down the book until every last word is read. And I felt every emotion these two were feeling deep down in my heart. Words cannot fully express how much you need to read this story of newfound lust and love!
I love this series!
4 stars.
I recieved an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

A beautifully written romance. With real to life characters that were easily relatable. Doctor Drew was dreamy and dominant. He was unsatisfied with his life, career driven with a non existent personal life. Needing to reevaluate his life choices in order to realise who and what is important to him. He was the perfect friend, coworker and boyfriend. Nurse Margot was sassy and sweet. I loved her addictive personality. With her bad track record with men and low self esteem, it was hard for her to accept the new direction of their friendship.
I adored that Margot was perfect for Drew, they fit together and were completely compatable with each other. Their friendship was goals but their chemistry was unmistakable. Everytime they made headway in their relationship it was two steps forward, one step back. A true slow burn that gradually turns friends and coworkers into lover.
This book is funny, cute and romantic. I felt a kaleidoscope of emotions when reading this book. It’s about friendship, the journey of self love, trust, and giving love a chance. Although the happy ending was fitting to their character, I felt it lacked the typical romantic certainty you expect in a romance novel.
Written with dual perspectives of the main characters.
This was my first book by J. Saman but it definetely will not be my last. I need to find out more about their friends in this series. Recommended to anyone interested in the friends-to-lovers romance trope, and fans of Greys Anatomy.
No cheating.
I enjoyed this book a lot. I loved Margot and Drew, best friends who see each other in a whole new light after a kiss that rocks them both. Insecurities and baggage from their pasts don’t make it easy for them to move out of the friend zone which accounts for the slow pace in the first half of the book but when the story finally took off I couldn’t put it down. This emotional steamy love story touched my heart. 4.5 stars
I am voluntarily reviewing an advance reader copy of this book.
The Edge of Reason was my first book by J. Saman and I can say with total certainty that it will not be my last. If you love a good friends to lovers (with added complications) romance read, then this is most definitely the book for you. I absolutely love Drew and Margot both individually and as a couple. The best of friends until one shattering kiss changes everything. Margot is not known for making the best choices when it comes to men and as a result she is hesitant when it comes to opening up her heart. Drew is equal parts sexy and determined, once he realizes the potential for love with his best friend he is all in. I can’t wait to binge read the other two books in this series. Add this book to your TBR list, trust me you won’t regret it. (I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review).
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.
I have a certain set of rules I try to live by. Rules that have always served me well. Until now….
Rule one: Don’t have sex with someone you work with.
Rule two: Don’t have sex with your friend’s ex-boyfriend.
Rule three: Don’t have sex with your best friend who also happens to be the same ex-boyfriend of your friend.
Rule four: Don’t ever, under any circumstances, fall in love with your best friend.

This is the third book in The Edge Series from J. Saman. This is my first time reading one of her book and it can be read as a standalone. This is the story of Drew and Margot. Best friends and off limits to each other as he is not only her best friend but is in love with her best friend. Margot has a strict set of rules she lives by and she doesn’t like to break the rules. However one kiss is going to change all that and they way these two think about each other. Love though is not something that she has ever really been able to find and have as a constant in their live. She also tends to not live by her own rules and boy oh boy is she about to break all of the rules. I was hooked on this book from the very beginning and couldn’t put it down. This book too I thought was super emotional so you better have your giggle box in the on position and your Kleenex right beside you. I loved this book and I have always loved best friend this or that book too. This one was really really good and I love J Saman’s writing style. This certainly won’t be the first and last book I read by her. I look forward to reading another and another. I hope ya’ll enjoy it as much as I did.
Falling for your best friend. Would you act on it, or are you too afraid to possibly ruin a beautiful friendship? In The Edge of Reason, Margot and Drew are facing this very dilemma. It isn’t easy, but I love the ending our couple gets.
Margot and Drew see each other a lot. They work in the same hospital – she a nurse, he an ER doctor – and share the same group of friends. But more importantly, they’re best friends who love to spend time together. One unexpected kiss however, changes the whole dynamic between Drew and Margot. From easygoing it goes to complicated, confused feelings and not knowing what to do. That there’s more then just friendship between them is clear, but how to deal with is a whole other question.
I love Margot and Drew. Not just as a couple, but also as individuals. Drew is a guy who knows what he wants. Yes, he always has seen Margot as a friend, but that’s until ‘the kiss’. I love how he doesn’t question his feelings, how he’s all in. Margot on the other hand is the hesitant party. And I so get her. Her past has taught her not to trust easily, and her romantic choices haven’t always the smartest. So yes, it’s very understandable she doesn’t want to ruin her friendship with Drew. Margot and Drew are an amazing couple, they both deserve finding real love.
The Edge of Reason is the third book in the ‘Edge Series’, and this time the story is about Drew and Margot. They have been side characters in the previous books of the series, but now they take main stage.Besides the back and forth between Margot and Drew there’s a lot more going on; work, good times with their friends and a good old-fashioned villain. I love how J. Saman has written this story, it makes Margot and Drew feel like real people, with real doubts and feelings.
I love Drew and Margot, and their road to their Happily Ever After. I give The Edge of Reason 4.5 stars.
This book has all the feels! Wow! I don’t think I was prepared for this emotional story! Drew and Margot’s story was amazing! Both are amazing characters that you can’t help but fall in love with! The Edge of Reason is an epic love story with very relatable characters! FIVE STARS!
J. Saman is a new author to me and I have to say that I really enjoyed this book. The book is about the relationship between Margot and drew. How it goes from being best friends to something else and not quite knowing where you stand with each other, especially when other people and their opinions become involved and your own baggage causes some issues.
I felt like this was a quick read for me and I particularly enjoyed the banter that Margot has with every one she meets; she is super quirky which made her extremely likable. The same can be said for Drew, he isn’t your quintessential playboy and knows what he wants in a relationship and that is definitely Margot.
There is a little bit of suspense in this book and there are a few scenes which are quite heart-breaking (you’ll know which ones I mean when you read it) as well as some extra steamy scenes throughout the story and some laugh out loud moments. If this is the kind of stuff that J. Saman writes, then count me in!
ARC received for a fair and honest review.

“I wouldn’t be me without you.”
I love this series! It’s great how you can read them as stand-alones and the characters are all intertwine.
Margot & Drew… Where do I begin.. I had a hard time with Margot and to be honest I have a very hard time with female characters who have serious self doubt, severe self esteem issues. That being said I fell in love with Drew. He was absolutely amazing and so super patient with Margot. Jeez!
Once Drew knew his love for Margot was beyond friendship, he was not letting go. He has done for her more than he has done for any other, even his ex-girlfriend who he thought he was so in love with.. So he thought…
Margot has lots of obstacles she needs to surpass in order to realize Drew is real and is not faking his love for her. She’s not his rebound. Between dealing with her previous break-up and the new feelings she has for Drew… She’s just on the edge!
I have to say everything I felt throughout the book just falls out of Drew’s lips and leaves you in awe!
Drew and Margot are everything I needed but didn’t know. The story is emotional, confusing, frustrating, and sexy all at once. You get sucked into the characters and their emotions and I had a hard time putting the story down. Even after I was done, I kept thinking about them. That’t how good the story is and how it makes you feel everything Drew and Margot go through.
The Edge of Reason is a friends to lovers trope that just goes to prove, that friends make the Best lovers.. . .
J. Saman has hit another home run with this beautifully written story of one woman’s struggle to date her best friend. After that kiss, (sigh) Drew is hands down all about taking it to the next level. Margot, not so much! I loved all the twists and turns and that ending is to die for!
If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a million times, J. Saman is my #1 contemporary romance author. If you haven’t read anything by her, then you’re truly missing out. Go grab The Edge of Reason, it’s a great place to start!
This was such a well written, quick moving, page turner of a book!! Drew and Margot captured my attention and kept it until the very last page!! There are some funny parts, sad parts and through it all I loved watching this love blossom. I suggest taking this book and relaxing for a bit because you won’t want to miss a page!!
This read like something out of real life, it was raw, emotional and very real! this was my first book from this author, but it won’t be my last for sure!
The Edge of Reason by J. Saman is a great read. captivating, funny, sexy, and emotional best friends to lovers of Drew and Margot romance that will captured your heart and hooked you from beginning to ends, loved it! well done! I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book
This is a well written friends to lovers ,slow burn romance between Margot and Drew. The author does a great job developing the story and pulls you in with all the emotions flowing throughout. Add in the drama, humorous dialogue and romance and you have an entertaining read. I loved their characters and reading their story.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
The Edge of Reason by J Saman was a hit for me!
I just loved Drew and Margot. I loved their chemistry, their friendship and their not-so-friendship. What was between them was explosive. So explosive, I could feel it through the pages.
There was also grittiness to the novel. There was a lot of angst, and not just between the H/h. It builds up Drew’s and Margot’s relationships all the more, and also putscup some walls too. The angst is DEFCON 1 in this book. There’s a lot of it too!
And it gets five hot steamy flames from me in the spice department. Damn, Drew!
The Edge of Reason is a steamy, angsty and gritty read. You will fall in love with Drew and Margot and them as a couple almost immediately and you will fall in love with the entire book. Highly recommended!
This is my first book by this author and even though it’s the third book in a series it definitely can be read as a stand-alone without you feeling like you’re missing something.
This is a brilliant friends to lovers romance that I don’t think I put down once. The characters were fantastic, and not just the two main ones. They’re was something about them all that draws you to them and makes them really easy to like. The friendship between Margot and Drew means they already have the foundation to make their relationship something special and there’s no ignoring the chemistry between these two, even if that’s what Margot wants to do. Drew is a sweetheart, I’d go as far as saying he’s pretty close to been perfect.
This is an addictive read. It’s real, hot, at times a little emotional, and I didn’t want it to end. I can’t wait to read more of this authors work.
