When I said I would kill for her, I meant it. When I said I would die for her, I meant that, too.But protection comes with a price and so does my life.I can’t hold her.I can’t speak to her.I can’t even see her.The most important piece of my life is gone.I had everything.I had Winnie. And just like that, my unconditional love vanished.Picking up the pieces is impossible. There’s no easy way to fall … vanished.
Picking up the pieces is impossible.
There’s no easy way to fall out of love.
But that’s exactly what I have to do.
The Edge of Heaven is the emotional conclusion to Wrong Side of Heaven.
One jilted love story.
Four converging paths.
A brand new forever.

This book was great. There are some taboo things going on but it doesn’t take away from the story. It was a good conclusion to the first book.Things happened that I was not expecting, the author keeps the reader on their toes.
Gia Riley took everything you thought you knew, thought would happen, and expected from this story and put it in a box and ran it over with a semi. Hopes and dreams- gone. Beliefs and expectations- decimated. But what she gives you in return is far more beautiful than everything you thought you wanted. Trust me. You say you wanted it but the actual resolution is far more fulfilling on a personal level than anything else could have been.
Don’t get me wrong, I totally have a favorite. I had a perfect fantasy picked out. I plotted the entire book before I even picked it up. I knew exactly what I wanted. But what I want isn’t what happened and I actual have a bigger smile and a more profound respect for all parties. Does that mean I won’t cry on my pillow- um no. I totally will but this story isn’t an end. It’s a beginning.

This was far from the ending that I was anticipating, but it was the kind of ending that this story needed…
Only moments after devouring Wrong Side of Heaven, book one in the Broken Wings Duet, I just knew that The Edge of Heaven was going to destroy me when I finally managed to get my hands on a copy. Let me just say that is exactly what happened and I am still left processing my feelings hours after finishing. My heart was ripped right out of my chest and torn to shreds by Gia Riley’s emotionally captivating words. I am still emotionally drained by the intense journey this story took me on and I am not ready nor willing to let these characters go. Although I know the story has come to an end there is still a part of me that wants more of these characters!
The Edge of Heaven will consume your soul and leave you crumpled up in the corner with that gut-wrenching feeling of pain in the pit of your stomach. This story will take readers on a rollercoaster of twists and turns AND I can’t forget to mention the abundance of tears and heartache you will experience. This is the kind of story that will test your limits readers, but TRUST me when I say that this WILL be one of the best books you will ever read!
Every once in a while an author comes out with a book that will make you think, make you wonder and most of all, make you feel. The conclusion of the the Broken Wings duet is just that. In the first book, it ended in a bang, literally. With The Edge of Heaven, we start up right back from where the first ended. It is a ride of angst, emotions and life lessons. Your heart shatters for Winnie as she tries so hard to move forward. She is a scrapper but one can only take so much. Jasper tries to be there for her but she pushes hard against him. Then you have Trey. I kinda wanted to hate him but I couldn’t. With everything that happened, all I wanted was Winnie to have her happy ending.
This is one of those books that will stick with you. I usually do not read much young adult books, but this one takes a life of its own and you honestly cannot put it down. The topics that Riley tackles are really tough ones and the author does it with such grace. This story is about growing up but also about self acceptance as well. To let go of those demons. To love yourself back. Winnie is such a tortured soul but she kisses that edge of heaven to discover that there is more to life than the hand she was dealt in life. I am honestly at a loss of words of how much this duet affected me. It really guts you and leaves an imprint on your heart. This is very much something everyone should read.
The Edge of Heaven by Gia Riley is the concluding part to Gia’s Broken Wings Duet . Picking up right where the cliffhanger from book one, Wrong Side of Heaven, left off we dive right back into the dark and twisted life of Winnie and the two men who love her the most but are almost helpless to save her.
I was not as enthralled with this second part of the story. I was anticipating more of a romance, less of a triangle, and a different type of angst. What I found was a bracing glimpse into Winnie’s damaged soul, Jasper’s desperate feelings for Winnie, and Trey’s back and forth between protecting her and being there for her. It was emotionally messy and dark and while I enjoyed it I also found it difficult to read. Winnie is a young character and her voice was frustrating at times – on the same note, it was eerily accurate.
If you read book one I highly recommend you get the closure that this book provides. Enjoy!
Well it sure end with a bang! What a way to end it Jesus! I loved this story because it sucked me in from the very beginning! It was so powerful and strong that I’m just in awe of it! Perfect! Hands down my favorite story from this author
The Broken Wings Duet was my first reading experience with author Gia Riley. I’m choosy when it comes to reading angst, so I was taking a leap of faith when I agreed to tackle the Wrong Side of Heaven, followed by The Edge of Heaven.
The books center on Winnie Dawes, a seventeen-year-old girl, who battles every day to survive. She fights for what few things belong to her and she has no one she can trust. A mysterious yet protective stranger moves into the trailer across from Winnie’s at just the same time she makes her first real friend, Jasper.
Although they recognize each other from school, Winnie’s friendship with Jasper is established when they end up working at the same place. He is kind, compassionate, and loyal. He offers Winnie nourishment, comfort, and safety whenever she needs it. But it’s the secretive neighbor across the way who captures her heart. What follows is a gripping and emotional love triangle between the three that put me on the edge of my seat.
I read the Wrong Side of Heaven last month, while flying home after a book signing, and loved it. Then real life interfered with my ability to sit down and compose my review. I felt awful for being late with it, but then within a few chapters of beginning The Edge of Heaven last week, it became clear that this was meant to be.
The Wrong Side of Heaven was an incredible read, ensuring that I would move on to the second book. The Edge of Heaven picked up right where the first book left off, and just when I thought the story couldn’t get any better, it exploded on me. By the time I devoured the opening chapters of the second book, I knew I was dealing with a 5-star series.
The Broken Wings Duet is not for the faint of heart. All of the characters are struggling with personal demons, some of which are more evil than others. Despite the tragedy, there is an unmistakable surge of hope that buzzes beneath the surface. This hint of anticipation keeps both the reader and the characters moving forward, in search of the elusive light at the end of the tunnel.
If you’re interested in learning what happens when the paths of these fascinating characters converge, I eagerly recommend this pair of books. This duet is for those looking for something mature, edgy, and suspenseful in their next read.
The Edge of Heaven is book two in the Broken Wings Duet. It can not be read as a standalone, you must read Wrong Side of Heaven first. After reading the first one I really wasn’t sure what to expect. In the beginning, my heart was in my throat, I wasn’t sure if someone was going to die. This one is an emotionally read. I was on edge reading most of it and I couldn’t read fast enough. The ending was surprising for me. I actually read the ending a couple of times to process it and I’m still not fully sure it has all sank it yet
The Edge of Heaven was like nothing I’ve ever read. Riveting, unexpected and heart-breaking, this book will have you hooked until the very end.
The story continues seemlessly from where book 1 left off and OMG it took you on an emotional roller-coaster ride.
We are introduced to a few new characters in this novel who all played a pivotal role in this tale.
With twists and turns around every other corner, you will be on the edge of your seat reading this novel.
This page-turner was a phenomenal read. It was so well written and the characters were both complex and well-developed. Worthy of more than 5 stars I would highly recommend this novel.
OMG!!! This book tore me apart. It’s so freaking intense and filled with all-consuming drama. I knew it was going to be one heck of a ride after reading Wrong Side Of Heaven, part one of the Broken Wings Duet but geez, it was even better than I imagined. Gia Riley’s writing, man, it’s so compelling. The Edge Of Heaven just grabs you and hauls you in, I was literally on the edge of my seat reading this. Now, I feel run out, flattened by the emotional journey this book has taken me on. And even though it’s over now, I still want more. No, I NEED more. Make sure you have some tissues handy, and probably a gallon of wine too, cause you’re gonna need it with this one. Be prepared for a roller coaster filled with unexpected twists and just one of the best stories out there, so far this year.
So, don’t double-guess it. Just One-Click this baby today and be ready to FEEL!!!
