These sisters are so fun and unique, each with their own voice. Jen has created an intriguing setting in the castle and an interesting mystery that instantly peaked my interest. There however, was so much going on with all the sisters, the love triangle and the mystery of the family’s background I had a hard time keeping up with everything, the confusion pulled me out of the story a time or two. This author’s traditionally published books feel a little deeper, a little more flushed out, the plot and romance wasn’t my favorite. However, I loved the characters so much and can’t wait to see where this journey takes the other sisters.
I’m really enjoying this series. The characters are well developed and each book makes you wonder a little more about the other prominent characters. Excellent book 2! Lord Morely does not appreciate the new role and responsibility he has because of card game he won. But he soon figures out that his heart cares and understands more than he could have thought.

This book has so many great elements that make for an engaging story!
An interesting storyline, well rounded characters, sweet, clean romance, a few twists with a bit of history woven in – all set in the Regency Era. A wonderful combination!

I enjoyed this book and highly recommend it! It is a great addition to a lovely series!
I’ve never been a gambler, but can you imagine instead of just winning money or an estate or something, you win a gaggle of sisters to go along with it? That’s what happened to Lord Morley and I must say, he was quite a trooper to handle things so gallantly.
Lord Morley and Miss Standish both had a delightfully charming and easy demeanors. They were both very likable and had the best interests of the rest of the sisters close to their hearts. At times, I almost felt a Twelve Dancing Princesses or Little Women vibe with this swarm of amiable young ladies. They are full of personality and I hope there’s a story about each and every one of them.
I love a heartwarming Regency tale and this one delivers.
Content: mild romance

I love this kind of book. It’s a quick, easy read. There are great characters that we’ve met before (make sure to read The Duke’s Second Chance first), and a great love story that will draw you in.
I loved June in this one. She’s the oldest of five sisters. One thing I really loved about her was the way she was unconcerned about herself. She wants to make sure that all of her sisters are married, even if she herself ends up alone.
Then there’s Morley. He won the care of the Sisters of Sussex and their castle in a card game from his friend, Gerald the Duke of Granbury. I loved the way he was sneaky about this. He knew his friend had his eye on June from the one time they had met, and he wanted to give them a chance. This seemed like the perfect idea. But he forgot to take June into account. She wants nothing to do with being Morley’s responsibility.
I loved the we got to see the Duke and Duchess of Granbury in this one again. And the other sisters are amazing. I can’t wait to get to read all of their stories!
I was sent a copy of The Earl’s Winning Wager as a gift from the author. All opinions are my own.
What a sweet story! Lord Morley and Miss Standish were perfectly suited for each other and were both kind, good people. They were easy to like and easy to root for. I think one of the the things I loved best about Morley was the way he viewed June’s sisters as his own. His care and concern for them was so endearing. I loved him for that alone. Well, and for his good manners. He felt like all that was gentlemanly and good.
I love this family of Standish sisters living in a castle! They all have personality and it will be fun to follow each of their stories in this series.
Clean regency romance. Kissing.

As the second book in the Lords for the Sisters of Sussex series, The Earl’s Winning Wager ups the ante!
Starting out with an unusual card game, followed by castle renovations, misunderstandings, and ending in true love, this book packs a punch.
The five sisters reminded me of my youth, as I grew up with four sisters of my own. The camaraderie and even the small digs were very familiar. And I definitely identified with June, being an oldest sister, myself.
Overall, author Jen Geigle Johnson tells a charming story. I am eagerly looking forward to the next installment.
You guys I loved this story! The strong bond between all of the sisters, is literally the best! I can’t wait for the next book!

Another fantastic book by Jen Johnson. This is the second book in a series.
I really liked this book! Johnson is an author I really enjoy, I don’t think I’ve read a book of hers that I didn’t like. But there is something about this one. It was adorable. I loved the way Morley and June got to know ine another and work past their issues. They were, of course, perfect for one another which the Duke new, because hes Morley’s best friend and knows him so well. This one is a great book, and you will enjoy it!
Fun premise and a great set of characters! This book felt like a bridge between the first book in the Lords for the Sisters of Sussex series (The Duke’s Second Chance) and the books to come for the rest of the sisters. It was strong on character development but the plot was not as engaging. I got lost in the dialogue at times. I admit I enjoyed Jen Geigle Johnson’s other books better.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
This story was absolutely delightful! Unfortunately, this is the second book in the series and I haven’t read the first, but I will be remedying that as soon as possible. I really enjoyed the sisters aspect of the story. They are an eclectic group of young ladies who all enjoy different things. I loved the romance, as well. It was very well paced and natural. I also really enjoyed the friendships that were made. I am very much looking forward to not only seeing what will come for these sisters, but also going back and seeing how they got to where they are in this story.

What a wonderful continuation of this series. The changes Lord Morley made to change his life and learn to care for these five sisters was fun to experience. One never knows when those parental feels will appear. The sisters are wonderful, I can’t wait to see what happens to them next. A sweet, clean story, I just want the next one.

Ok- I LOVED this book. Maybe because I also grew up in a family of 5 girls so I could totally relate to them all. All the sister talks and meetings on the bed- it made me miss my own sisters. It was a fun, happy, romantic read. This is book 2 in a series, but I don’t think you would HAVE to read the first to enjoy this one. I loved getting to know Morley and June, but I also enjoyed all of the sisters as well- I’m hoping they all will get a story too. I read it all in one day, so if you get it clear your day and settle in for a great read!

Probably my most enjoyable part of this book was the way in which the Sisters of Sussex as they are called interacted with one another. The author has created a group of sisters reminiscent of the March sisters and I look forward to reading how each of their stories play out.
I like the concept of this story and I liked Morley and June; however, the story itself felt like there was a lot of miscommunication at one point and then sudden understanding in the next, which switched back to insecurities and left me a bit confused. The point of view or train of thought jumped around and it left the plot feeling somewhat disjointed to me.
I received and advance reader copy of this novel. I am leaving a review of my own accord and these are my own thoughts.
