Lord Callum Blackwood does not want a silly empty headed lass for a wife. He’s seen too much darkness, for such a woman. Nor does he have the patience or softness to woo a blushing bride. He needs a woman that can step into the role of wife and fill his obligation for an heir.Lady Elizabeth has been ruined by her father’s gambling debts and is now a lowly laundress. But her fate cannot hide her … hide her beauty, her strength, or the lady that still lives within. And while she takes pride in her work, her ability to care for herself in a world that forces women to rely on men, she cannot deny that Callum could help her. Especially when her aunt falls gravely ill.
Neither wants love, but nor can they deny the attraction that sparks between them. Will those feelings, forge a bond or break their tentative agreement apart?

The Earl’s Forsaken Bride: Scottish Historical Romance (A Laird to Love Book 6) by Tammy Andresen is yet another well written, quick paced Regency romance by this author. While, this is book 6 in this amazing series, it can be read as a stand alone. A very sweet, romantic read with a touch of mystery, lots of interest, emotional entanglements and love. Finding love out of necessity is not always an easy path.
Loved the characters, they are realistic, flawed, and engaging. Genuine, humorous at times, will definitely put a smile on your face at times, unpredictable, with an interesting storyline. I was held captive by both the characters and the romance. Ms. Andresen always puts a smile on my face, takes me to another place and era in time. Definitely easy to get list in one of her stories. Fans of romance, Regency, strong but flawed characters, and interesting storylines are sure to enjoy THE EARL’S FORSAKEN BRIDE.
Just love Ms. Andresen’s Laird to Love series. Callum is looking for a bride. Not just any bride but one that will take care of his home and babies. He also bears scars, both emotional and physical, from the war. His wife would need to be able to understand and tolerate those issues as well. Lady Elizabeth has fallen unto hard times herself. She is taking care of an ill aunt who has raised her from a young wee one. When Callum comes calling, he is not expecting the beauty he sees. Elizabeth is not used to having someone take care of her and both need to adjust to each other. What they find though, is real. Cannot wait for the next book to release!
Lord Callum Blackwood is looking for a wife, he’s seen too much darkness so he needs a woman that can step into the role of wife and fill his obligation for an heir. He saw & suffered too much when he was in the army in India.
Lady Elizabeth has been ruined by her father’s gambling debts she is now living with her aunt & to earn a little is a lowly laundress. When her aunt falls gravely ill she fears for her future then Ewan McDougal arrives with the scarred but gorgeous Callum Tate she can’t believe Callum wishes to marry her.
A short but absolutely delightful novella, I’ve loved the whole series & Callum & Elizabeth’s story is enthralling & touching. Two scarred people finding each other, they were just perfect for each other & completed each other. I read the story in a sitting, it was a charming satisfying read.
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read
In this gentle love story, two wounded people find hope and healing in one another. Lady Elizabeth’s father took the easy way out, leaving her to face ruin and disgrace at a time when she should have been making a match. It’s sad to say that even though society has come a long way, the aftermath of suicide is still devastating and people’s attitudes haven’t really changed over the past two to three hundred years. My heart therefore went out to Elizabeth as she picked up the pieces of her life with pride and dignity. Callum, on the other hand, is fighting his own demons, and not wanting a missish wife to contend with, he chooses Elizabeth, thinking that with her experiences, she is less likely to cave in under his dark moods. Little did they realise that in each other they could find the missing pieces to their lives and experience fulfillment at the deepest level. I loved all the characters in this book: Elizabeth with her fierce independence; Aunty Mary with her streak of humour; Callum with his careful wooing of Elizabeth and willingness to put their lives to right; and even Ewan who was able to look beyond the poverty his relatives had fallen into. The story was well written, emotive and left me with a warm spot in my heart. I received a copy of this book for free as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.
I really enjoyed this short story. I loved the characters. They had both been through rough times and come out stronger for it. Lord Callum needs a wife but doesn’t want the emotional attachment. A former Lady, Elizabeth is barely surviving as she struggles to take care of ailing aunt. In sweeps Lord Callum, full of kindness and respect, and offers her a better life with protection. He’s a bit broken from the war and doesn’t believe he deserves love. She never wants to rely on a man and have him leave her in the position her father did. She shows him she is more than capable of handling his “flaws” Neither wanted love but they are just what each other needed. They found a way to their HEA as well as helping others and finding satisfaction in life. A sweet, emotional romance.
The Earl’s Forsaken Bride by Tammy Andresen is a phenomenal historical romance. Ms. Andresen has once again delivered a book that is not only well-written but packed with amazing characters. This is a fairly quick read, perfect for those with limited reading time. Elizabeth does laundry to take care of her aunt. Callum is an Earl in search of a bride that won’t have expectations. Callum and Elizabeth’s story is perhaps one of my favorites from this author. It is full of drama, humor, sizzle and action. I love this book and look forward to my next book by Tammy Andresen. The Earl’s Forsaken Bride is book 5 of the A Laird to Love Series but can easily be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Another beautifully written story by the amazingly talented Tammy Andresen. I loved this story! I was hooked from the first page and couldn’t put it down. I read it straight through and enjoyed every minute of it. The characters are great, I loved Callum and Elizabeth. They are both strong and very alluring characters. I loved getting to see these two find eachother and get their HEA that they both deserve. This is one of those stories that you really wish didn’t have to end and you could just keep reading. I can’t say enough good things about it
So Charming!! The Earl’s Forsaken Bride by Tammy Andresen is book 6 in A Laird To Love series. This book is so charming and I loved this story of a marriage of connivance. Tammy has such a way of writing that you are into the story from page one to the very last page. Her characters and descriptions are just wonderful. There is so much beauty in this book that I read it in one sitting. This story has sadness, poverty, broken inside, trust, kindness sickness, protection, ruination, hard work, flaws, shame and love at first sight! Who could ask for more! I loved this story as it took me back to another place and time with Lady Elizabeth Chase and Lord Callum Tate, Earl of Blackwood.
