“The Earl She Left Behind” is a very touching love story. Max, the Earl of Worley has never stopped loving his childhood neighbor, friend and ex-fiancé Meg, Lady Tipton…even though she broke off their engagement with little explanation. Anna St.Clare intertwines an intricate plot of loss, loneliness and pain with one of love, justice, family and friendship. Max and Meg are wonderful characters but the icing on this romantic and yet suspenseful story is fiercely loyal Shep! What a dog! Can I get one of his puppies?? Wonderful read, I could not put it down!
I really enjoyed reading this story. The action starts on the first page and just grabs hold of you. There is action, adventure, second chances at love and family, and a feisty loyal dog. Definitely surprises I did not see coming. I loved this journey to HEA!
The Earl She Left Behind by Anna St. Claire
Maxwell Wilde, Earl of Worsley, was returning to his home after an absence when he noticed someone injured. To his shock, it was the woman he had loved and hoped to marry. That is until she disappeared and he found out she’d married another man. He thought he was long over Maggie Winters…he was wrong.
Lady Maggie Tipton once had a wonderful life. Loving parents, a little brother, and Max. In a weeks’ time, she lost her family and was sent off to marry an old, cruel man. She’d been waiting for the right time to escape her “prison” and finally, the time came.
Now, they were under the same roof with the same feelings from three years ago. But all was different. And they were finding out that Maggie had more enemies than her cruel husband and she wouldn’t be safe until they found out who they were and how to stop them. Wonderful characters and a good storyline.

As I’m reading the story, I’m finding it hard to connect with the story. Details are not explained to well in the the story and the details that are are placed out of order. They do not connect the story line in that scene. The plot to the story is a good one, but maybe if the writer could have opened up with the murder scene first in the book. Going into scary details of what’s happening.
What Maggie was going through. Having Max come upon Maggie in the road is good. The scene with the doctors examining was to detailed. The story is just hard to connect with. I voluntary reviewed this ARC after receiving a free gifted copy.
