Love left me off its to-do list.I date. I’m all for giving guys a chance. I’ve just never met the one.Until on a spring morning in the English countryside, a tall, dark stranger emerges from the mist. Logan Steele is all tousled hair, hard chest and lips so perfect I want to reach out and touch them just to check they’re real. I’m sure that’s a thunderclap of chemistry I feel between us.Did I … feel between us.
Did I mention he’s an Earl with a self-made fortune?
A billionaire who works tirelessly for charity?
And he’s so hot, watching him is like staring at the sun.
But like I said, love isn’t rooting for me.
When I find out Logan Steele is out to destroy everything I’ve dedicated my life to protect, the chemistry disappears and the hope that had blossomed my chest turns to rage.
It no longer matters that he quickens my pulse just saying my name, weakens my knees with a single touch and that he might just be the greatest kisser that ever lived.
I might believe in love but Logan Steele is definitely not the one.
A standalone romance.

Louise Bay never disappoints with her writing and characters, and The Earl of London is no exception. I loved this story and something about it made me think of the historical greats that it could easily have been, maybe it was the name Darcy but I think it was the talk of estates and the English country set too.
Darcy and Logan’s story was a joy to read, full of all you could ask for, hot characters, a great push and pull story as attraction is marred by concequences and misunderstandings. The banter between the two had me chuckling and the sex scenes fanning myself.
Darcy was a great lead, fiesty, independent and ready to stand up for what was important to her especially her village and when the hot stranger arrives with his city ways, attraction be damned, Darcy comes out fighting.
As always with Louises books there were previous characters popping up but this is very much a stand alone read. I loved the side characters in this story especially Logan’s grandmother. Definitely one you don’t want to miss.
Ever since the ‘King of Wall Street’ book, I’ve fallen in love with Louise Bay’s stories; especially these series of standalones that are oh-so-good.
The Earl of London was no exception. Darcy Westbury finally got her HEA and I couldn’t be more happy! Logan Steele was unf….so hot, stubborn, and swoonie at the same time. And Darcy? Well I freakin’ loved her. She was no shrinking violet when it came to making her opinions and her POV known. She was so mature for 28, at times I forgot she was still that young. But the life she lived and how she was raised made her that way. She spoke her mind and told it like it was, which I love in real life and in books too.
In the end this is a story of two people whose upbringing and life experiences made them who they were for better or worse. They didn’t know how perfect they truly were for each other. And as in with everything, love not only will make you happy, it’ll also challenge the heck out of you. Darcy and Logan were no exception.
Louise, you 100% did Darcy justice 🙂
Another Favorite from Louise Bay.
I have been waiting for Darcy and Logan’s book and let me say that Louise didn’t dissapoint me. Every time that I read one of Louise Bay’s books I have a new favorite male character, but just let me tell you -LOGAN STEELE is…….. swoon, omg.
Loved Logan and Darcy’s book!
ARC provided by author for an honest review.
I’m a relatively new fan of Louise Bay – but I have read most of the Royal Collection and have loved them all. One of my favorite side characters we met was Darcy – the sister to the Duke of Manhattan. She has come across like the dainty British aristocrat with a heart of gold.
When it was announced that her book was coming, I was giddy like a school girl. I was looking forward to seeing how she met the man of her dreams and how he would win her over. What we got was this fantastic enemy to lovers story.
Logan Steele is absolutely everything. The self made business man who wants to erase the past and the mistakes of his father, will make your heart sing. From the author who manages to make this girl swoon with every hero, Logan is the best of them all.
The Earl of London is my favorite of the entire series so far. I can’t recommend this book enough. It will make you swoon. You will get that pinch in the heart that makes a reading experience incredible. And you will definitely feel the steam jumping off the page. This is a solid 5 star read, and you won’t regret spending a day with Darcy and Logan, that’s for sure.
I’ve really enjoyed to read this book.
I’m in awe of Louise Bay talent to write always new stories that feel unique and fresh.
It was interesting to follow Darcy and Logan journey, the sister of a Duke the first and a city billionaire the other.
They are enemies from the beginning because our heroine wants to keep her village as still as it was when she was little while our hero wants to increase the number of tourists in the countryside. They are both so stubborn and they don’t want to give in to the other idea but they can’t also deny the chemestry and sexual tension between them.
Are they really so different they can’t be friends? Or will they find a way to agree on a common ground and be something more?
I waited to read Darcy’s story for so long and I think she got the best man she deserved.
We met our heroine in the previous books in the series but you can definitely read and appreciate The Earl Of London as a stand-alone.
Twist on a historical romance. I loved how Darcy and Logan were the perfect match for eachother. They are the yang to the yang. Their stubborn personalities may just be their downfall. The writing hooks you from the beginning and you can’t help but love the characters. Darcy shows how stubborn she can be but also loves with all her heart. Logan has a steel wall up which may just take all of Darcy’s strength to show him how to love. I recommend you pickup a copy and enjoy it as much as I do.
THE EARL OF LONDON by Louise Bay has a bit of everything I enjoy in a romance; there’s the sweet, the sexy, the downright hot along with a good dose of humour and a touch of drama.
When Logan Steele meets Darcy Westbury, things don’t go smoothly. While there’s an attraction between them it appears that loving thy neighbour will not be part of the plan when they find themselves on opposing sides of a land development application.
I thoroughly enjoyed Logan and Darcy’s story. They kept each other on their toes and the banter between them is both fun and insightful. They openly admit to wanting something more in their lives and while there are many similarities between them, there are just as many differences. I liked the time they spent together, getting to know one another; they were building a solid relationship foundation.
When Logan and Darcy were spinning their wheels, it was a lot of fun reading the extreme matchmaking efforts of the villagers. Sure, they were a tad pushy at times, but their intentions were genuine and sweet.
The Earl of London really does tick all the romance book boxes: the setting, the characters, the story and the happy ever after. Highly recommended.
Every time I read a book by this author I know that i’m in for a great read and The Earl of London is no exception. I really didn’t think that I could fall in love with anymore of her hero’s but I was so very wrong about that because Logan Steele absolutely floored me and totally swept me away. He’s so dreamy and handsome, intelligent and charming and just who couldn’t stop themself from falling in love with a man that loves and dotes on his granny!
Darcy and Logan’s book is an exciting tale that is an enemies to lovers story, he wants to build on his land and Darcy is afraid that it will change the way of life in the village forever. They are both very passionate about their cause, so much that that passion overflows between and becomes a sizzling affair that neither were expecting.
The main characters were very well developed and had personalities that I both liked and connected easily to. I really loved their fire and flair for fighting for what they both wanted. The writing was good and so easy to get lost in. This book had so much drama, angst, fun and frolics and let’s not forget about the romance it was so freaking hot!!! Some of the scenes were absolutely scorching. I’m so happy that Darcy finally found someone that she could love, trust and be her equal in everything.
An amazing read and thoroughly deserves 5 Big Shiny Stars!
I love Louise Bay’s strong, memorable heroes, and Logan Steele might be my favorite yet. He’s charming, wry and sexy, and — be still my heart — he adores his grandmother and will do anything for her. He buys back her family’s country estate outside of London, and he spends his weekends there with her, which is where he meets her new neighbor, Darcy. He and Darcy have instant chemistry but different lifestyles, and their dissimilarities become apparent when Logan announces his plan to develop a portion of his grandmother’s land. Darcy wants to protect the quaint village atmosphere and sets out to thwart his efforts, and they engage in a fiery clash of wills with sharp, witty verbal sparring that pulsates with sexual tension. The Earl of London is an engaging, passionate and sophisticated romance between two well-matched rivals who find it’s much more satisfying to lose a battle in order to win at love.

ARC provided, but this review was voluntarily and honestly written.
I have to say that I’ve loved each of the guys from this stand-alone series, but I think Logan has claimed the #1 spot as my favorite. He was such an amazing guy when he wasn’t trapped in his head behind all his fears. And Darcy Westbury was a true force on her own.
With Lance, he was spending his whole life trying to undo what his father did to the family name and make his grandmother proud. Oh, the relationship he had with her was so freaking sweet and adorable. He was a good guy who was stuck battling outside opinions of what people thought of him. Darcy was included on that list. Assumptions were made based on his business suit wearing persona. He did well for himself and was a formidable businessman but he was also honorable and had integrity.
Darcy is the lady of Woolton Hall and sister to Ryder Westbury (you can read his story in Duke of Manhattan). She loves country life her her quaint little village. The people look to her for guidance and she’s there to help preserve their way of life and traditions. She’s also very independent, strong willed, pragmatic and a straight shooter.
These two together is a meeting of similar personalities and a puzzle to them both – because neither is anything like the type they would usually give a second glance to…but they are just PERFECT for each other. *swoon*
I fell in love with these characters from the beginning and continued to fall deeper as I read their story. The British countryside described along with their little romance truly transported me to their world and it was a trip I thoroughly enjoyed. It was a fantastic read.
I absolutely adore Louise Bay! Every book I’ve read has been an all-star knock out. Her words, the characters, the feels! I feel it all in my bones. Darcy Westbury and Logan Steele know how to steal the show as we FINALLY get Darcy’s story. And ohhhh boy, it’s a story!
The richness of the characters is outstanding. How they’re shaped, everything from their past, to their values, to their current passions are thought of. Darcy lives in a small, super charming town outside of London. It’s described beautifully, so much so, I would love to live there. The community, the countryside, the warmth are envious.
To stir the pot, Logan Steele buys his grandmother’s house back and becomes Darcy’s neighbor. Their chemistry is like fireworks from the get-go. I was captured and these characters wouldn’t let go until the very end. Their bold disdain for each other fueled by an unexplainable passion, is so steamy. Who doesn’t love a love/hate relationship. Especially with a sassy, bold female and a male that isn’t used to not getting what he wants.
I loved every page of this book! Louise Bay continues to create worlds I want to be a part of, characters I adore, and loves that fill my heart to the brim.
This story is so beautifully written! I haven’t listened to the other books in the Series yet, so I can tell you can read/listen this story as a standalone BUT, I believe the best is to listen/read the Regal World Series in order (King of Wall Street, Park Avenue Prince, Duke of Manhattan, The British Knight and then The Earl of London).
I absolutely love Darcy and Logan’s story. Their chemistry is really strong and steamy. Darcy is so sweet and strong at the same time, feisty and beautiful. Darcy is a wonderful and adorable character. Logan is handsome and so complicated. Don’t get me wrong, I like complicated characters and I really love Logan. I wanted to shake him so many times! He has problems with commitment and he doesn’t want anyone to count on him. Logan and Darcy are very opposite characters. I love all about this story. The storyline is filled with moments in the London city and the Woolton Village (The countryside scenery was beautiful). So, it’s like the past and the present were collided or like reading a contemporary romance melted with a Historical Romance. Of course, I also like the secondary characters (Logan’s grandmother, Ryder, Scarlett and Aurora, Darcy’s best friend).
The narration was really, really well done. The narrators give a stunning interpretation of each character. OMG! Shane East as Logan is just so perfect! His voice is so beautiful, warm and sexy Imogen Church was a new narrator to me and I believe she was a great choice for Darcy’s voice. She brings Darcy to life with all the intensity and sweetness we can expect for this wonderful character.
I have read an ARC of this book and fortunately the audiobook went out immediately and I bought it so I can read and listened to it. I totally recommend this book.
This was just a down to earth good romance. I don’t think there was anything out of the ordinary with the themes in the story, it’s just the authors writing skills bring everything together and keep you interested and invested in the story taking place.
Logan Steele is a definite alpha business mogul and hero we like to read about. He’s strong, independent, a multi-millionaire and dominate in the boardroom and the bedroom.
Darcy is the sister of The Duke of Manhattan, Ryder Westbury. She’s mentioned in a couple of these books and a story I’ve been waiting to read for a while now. She’s a very strong and independent heroine. She’s bound herself to Woolton Hall, her families ancestoral home, and to Woolton village. To her, Woolton saved her when she was a little girl and she is determined to make sure the values and feel of the village remain the same without damage from outsiders, especially the likes of Logan Steele.
Logan and Darcy meet over a mud puddle – and it was still insta-spark, then it turns to insta-dislike…. but is it really? There is so much angst and sexual tension between these two, it could light a fire all by itself. They struggle with their feelings for one another throughout most of the book, both for different reasons, but they are so perfect for each other that you find yourself rooting them on. Their chemistry is definitely on the hot meter and we get to experience a different man in the bedroom with Darcy, rawrr, rawrr!
This is another not to be missed story that will keep you up late and turning pages for hours. Logan and Darcy are another winning couple in the Bay book-verse!
I’m a huge fan of Louise Bay, there’s not a book of hers that I have not read. Louise also has a way of writing seriously hot British men! With that being said, she has nailed it again with Darcy and Logan’s story- The Earl of London! I fell in love with Darcy back in The Duke of Manhattan (Darcy’s hot brother Ryder’s story). She is witty, strong, fierce and loving who is dealing with a hot new neighbor who is trying to destroy her little haven that is Woolton Village… or so she thinks. Once she gets to know him she has a different view on him rather than an enemy and possibly as more. Logan is one who knows what he wants and gets it. He has rules and checklists that he lives by and does not veer off from them. So when he meets Darcy, she rattles his world and everything he thought he knew about his life and himself. If you enjoy enemies to lovers, this is a must read then! Their banter together and their love is EVERYTHING!! Get this book, you won’t regret it! 5 Stars!
It’s clear from the onset of The Earl of London that there are a number of differences between the hero and the heroine – ones that could not only prevent any kind of relationship from developing between them but also ones that illustrate just how different their ways of life are as well as what matters most to them when it comes to family, love, and a lasting legacy.
Logan Steele has worked his entire adult life to accomplish two things – reclaim his grandmother’s childhood home in Woolton and do everything in his power to prove, mostly to himself, that he is not his father’s son and that Logan’s legacy will be one filled with accomplishments and money. In order for Logan to achieve his goals, though, he doesn’t have time for personal entanglements because they are nothing but distractions, especially a woman who is not only not his type but one who challenges him and judges him for his choices in life and in business.
Darcy Westbury appears to be Logan’s antithesis in every way. She lives for the past and keeping her grandparents’ estate as well as the village they lived in a true representation of how they lived and what they stood for, and while it’s a noble pursuit, in some ways, it doesn’t allow her to stay in the present or look to the future because she’s so focused on keeping her family’s history alive, which makes her appear quite close-minded at times.
Logan is a city boy, a player, a man whose career determines his life, and guy who demands control in everything that he does; Darcy is a country girl, a woman who values who and what people stand for, a girl who is passionate in keeping her grandparents’ legacy alive even if it means sacrificing any kind of personal ‘fun’ for herself.
As Logan and Darcy circle around each other, fighting for what they feel is best for Woolton, they find themselves insanely attracted to a person who seems to be the direct opposite of their true ‘type’ and as their attraction plays out and they get to know one another, what starts as a ‘live in the moment’ connection turns into something that Darcy never thought possible and that Logan never wanted to have and what these conflicted feelings do to them as a couple and as individuals definitely illustrates the characters’ differences and also forces them to confront their pasts and how much they dictate their presents and their futures.
The Earl of London is a steamy and complicated enemies-to-lovers’ story; it’s a book whose main characters appear to be contradictory in every aspect of their lives but somehow find something together that allows them to be their true selves, and while it did take me a bit to warm up to Logan because of how he lived and viewed his life and to see that he and Darcy could make things work between them despite their differences, it’s clear that they helped each other want more than they had and also believe that they were capable of achieving something just for themselves.
4 Poison Apples
Louise Bay has truly outdone herself with The Earl of London! I was absolutely hooked from chapter one and could not put this story down until the very end!
Logan Steele and Darcy Westbury, what can I say about them? Logan is the type to get what he wants, when he wants and Darcy is who he wants. Darcy, well, she calls it like she sees it and I truly loved that about her character! These two had a certain chemistry about them that you just don’t find in all characters. You can’t exactly describe it, it’s more like a feeling. A feeling like they are a pair that are meant to be together, even after Darcy finds out what Logan is up to. Far from perfect, Darcy and Logan were a couple that truly held me captive throughout the entire book and I enjoyed every moment of The Early of London!
I love the regal – majestic – feeling a Louise Bay romance provides. It’s like getting lost not only in a different world, but a different time as well – even though that’s not the case. I saw her being compared to Jane Austen somewhere, and, yeah, that sentiment rings true to me as well. Even the name of the heroine – Darcy – fits that picture, as well as her love and devotion for her little village.
And there’s more that intensifies that feeling and plays its own part in the magnificence that is this story: the setting on the countryside close to London, the storyline about a wealthy and insanely sexy and charming entrepreneur from the city, who knows what he wants is not taking root and having a family, and the lady from the countryside, who is running the estate for her brother – not out of obligation, but more out of passion. Now that a new neighbor is moving in next door – a man known to be a ruthless businessman who destroys companies for a profit, she is more than a little wary about what this will mean for her village, which has been her sanctuary for as long as she can remember…
Darcy is resilient, a force to be reckoned with when it comes to her home. She will not shy away from anything to avert the danger that this new neighbor poses the most wonderful place she has ever known.
And Logan – yes, he is used to getting what he wants, and more than confident about that, determined, too, but he is not ruthless. As Darcy has to discover, he is easy to talk to and quite a charmer – still with that hard edge to his character that hints that he is not without faults, either, jaded by his own upbringing.
Two people so different, who get along quite well personally, but whose business interests couldn’t clash more. Still, the sparks that fly between them from the minute they first met cannot be denied. They have a long journey ahead of themselves – Darcy has to overcome her aversion to an outsider of the village, whereas Logan has to deal with his upbringing and his self-centered tendencies. They scream, they fight, they flirt and kiss and, in Logan’s case, become all kidnapper-y caveman-style, then make up again. Watching them slowly but inevitably fall for one another was everything and more!
Intense chemistry, a couple of misunderstandings, beautiful relatable characters delivered in a wonderful writing-style that make the pages fly by. Sigh.
I waited a long time for Darcy to get her HEA! She threw her barbs around in previous books that this was a much anticipated book (at least for me).
Louise did an excellent job bringing the right guy along to challenge Darcy’s spunk. We all knew that Darcy was going to need/have a great opponent in Logan. Darcy was set in her ways, preserving the English Countryside Manor of her family. Logan was trying to reinstate his family’s legacy starting with purchasing the old estate his grandmother grew up in, determined not to live like his father recklessly did.
There was excellent chemistry of friend/foe with Darcy and Logan trying to find their way in getting both their families reputations back to previous status. This was all very reminiscent of Downton Abby and I loved the modern take! Excellent Job Louise!
Darcy and Logan’s story captivated me.There was so much to love about this story. Set in the English countryside, but not too far from London that there was a lot of city activity, too. When Logan moves in next door to Darcy on the English countryside neither one of them was expecting a relationship. What they found was something so life changing that it shook Logan to his very core. Darcy wasn’t looking for a relationship, but found herself in love with Logan. Logan was stubborn and paying for his father’s sins and didn’t see himself as someone who could have a family. Darcy shakes his very foundation. There were times I wanted to slap Logan and I got very choked up as he made mistakes, but I fell in love with Logan just as Darcy did. This was another great read in this series!
The Earl of London by Louise Bay, is a standalone novel that primarily takes place in Woolton Village, a suburb about an hour and a half outside of London. The townspeople are truly proud of their traditions, and they enjoy the peacefulness of the countryside that surrounds them. This is the love story between neighbors Logan Steele, an Earl, who is also a self-made billionaire, and Lady Darcy Westbury, an independent woman who runs her family’s vast estate. Although both descend from royalty, there is nothing royal about either of them. They are just two people that make the world a better place.
Darcy and Logan are opposite in almost every way, with the exception of their love for family. Logan moves from the city into Woolton with his grandmother, and immediately tries to build on his land. Darcy, as well as the other villagers, put a stop to his plans, in order to ensure the sanctity of the area. In the process Darcy and Logan become more than adversaries, they fall in love.
I liked this story, however, in the first half of the book I found the interactions and dialogue between Darcy and Logan to be a bit juvenile. Logan’s domination in the bedroom left me panting, while Darcy’s ability to stand up for her beliefs left me inspired. I loved the ending because it was replete with love, honesty and happiness. Overall a solid read.
