Love left me off its to-do list.I date. I’m all for giving guys a chance. I’ve just never met the one.Until on a spring morning in the English countryside, a tall, dark stranger emerges from the mist. Logan Steele is all tousled hair, hard chest and lips so perfect I want to reach out and touch them just to check they’re real. I’m sure that’s a thunderclap of chemistry I feel between us.Did I … feel between us.
Did I mention he’s an Earl with a self-made fortune?
A billionaire who works tirelessly for charity?
And he’s so hot, watching him is like staring at the sun.
But like I said, love isn’t rooting for me.
When I find out Logan Steele is out to destroy everything I’ve dedicated my life to protect, the chemistry disappears and the hope that had blossomed my chest turns to rage.
It no longer matters that he quickens my pulse just saying my name, weakens my knees with a single touch and that he might just be the greatest kisser that ever lived.
I might believe in love but Logan Steele is definitely not the one.
A standalone romance.

Finally! Darcy got her story told. I have enjoyed this series and I was hoping that after Ryder and Scarlett’s story she would get her own! I liked the enemies to lovers theme for theme in that it worked for their story. Darcy was so rigid in her views on how the village should not change while Logan was looking for the good of the community with his changes. I liked how Darcy eventually was willing to work with Logan and eventually compromise and I also liked how she forged a friendship with his grandmother as well. While Darcy was very rigid in her ideas of not changing the village I felt that she was doing so with trying to preserve her heritage and its surroundings. While both characters were well written, I did feel that the story really revolved around Darcy and that there was so much more to Logan that could have been brought out but no matter what, what we learned about him was enough to keep me as a reader interested in their story. The plot moved along well and I was hooked from the beginning. I have enjoyed this series and I look forward to seeing where it will go next.
PERFECTION!!! Darcy’s story was everything I had hoped it would be and so much more!! From the moment you meet Darcy in the “Duke of Manhattan,” you know right away that she is a fiercely independent, strong, loyal, and loving woman and Louise Bay brought her character to life for me and Darcy deserved to have her happily ever after.
At first meeting Logan you know right away how highhanded his ego is and you know right away that Darcy is going to be this force of nature that knocks Logan right off his feet.
Their story is a rocky journey and even though they are both completely and utterly stubborn they have an undeniable chemistry that you know could ignite fires like magic. What I love most about their growing passion is how Darcy isn’t afraid to speak her mind and be completely blunt with Logan and Logan doesn’t know how to handle a woman like Darcy. It’s a match made in a small little village!
Thank You Louise for another amazing, 5 Star read!!!
4 Earl Filled Stars!!!
Louise Bay has been one of my favorite since the first time I read her. I feel for Darcy and was hoping she’d get her HEA since I read The Duke Of Manhattan .
Darcy is running her families estate while her brother runs his business in the United States. She has a vision of the way her town is suppose to be. It’s why she refuses to let her brother Ryder to use a helicopter to come and go.
Darcy’s nervous when she finds out her next door neighbor House was sold. She’s not sure who it is and hopes they plan on keeping things within their neighborhood the same. When she runs into her new neighbor by accident in the fields where their properties meet she’s intrigued.
Logan has gone from nothing to something. He’s a man made millionaire and CEO of his business. He’s ruthless but fair. Logan’s compared to his father and that is something he strides not to be. For years Logan has had his eyes on a certain estate. His grandma lost it bc of him and Logan plans on getting it back for her. So, when it’s up for sale he makes sure to get it back for his grandma.
Logan’s plan is to work during the week and spend the weekends in the country with his grandma. He also has plans set up for the estate that’ll help bring business to the neighborhood businesses. Then, he met his neighbor Darcy and everything changed.
The minute Darcy knew who Logan was it was an instant war. She’d never let him come into her hometown and ruin it like the previous city people did. The ones who have money and can make everything sound great and instead it turns out miserable for everybody but them.
Darcy is never afraid to put Logan in his place. Darcy really likes Logan’s grandmother. Darcy wants to stay far away from Logan. His grandma and a few others keep trying to get her and him as more than neighbors.
Darcy wants nothing to do with Logan. But, whenever she finds herself around him he does or says something that makes her smile or to think that her first impression of him might be wrong. Darcy’s not sure how long she can keep her guard up against Logan.
Logan has plans he wants to do. He doesn’t let anybody tell him no or get in his way. But, Darcy makes things different. Even though Logan has plans he wants done, he also wants Darcy. Logan will do anything he has too in order to get both. Including making his grandma happy.
This story was amazing! I couldn’t stop reading. For the first half of his book Darcy got under my skin. I understood where she was coming from. But, she was just too much after awhile. Logan on the other hand is amazing!!!! His grandma raised him right that’s for sure. After awhile I was saying to myself that he needs to leave Darcy alone and find me lol. But, together these two are great.
I’m really looking forward to Louise’s next release. So, this is my way of saying please Louise write faster
Addictive.
From the moment I started reading this one, I was completely hooked on it. I mean, I couldn’t stop myself from turning the pages, all I wanted to do was soak in the story, because that’s how good it is.
The main characters, Logan and Darcy completely stole my heart. She is smart, funny, independent and kind. And Logan? He is so swoon worthy, and even though sometimes all you want to do is smack some sense into him, he’ll also show you how caring and sweet he can be. The chemistry between them is there since moment one, sparks fly and you can’t help but get excited for them to realize their true feelings. Between the banter, the bickering and the fights for what they want, they slowly start falling for each other, until they reach a point of no return. You get all the feelings: the sad and the happy ones.
While trying to figure out what’s best for them and trying to understand the feelings growing between them, they also discover themselves and unwrap the truth behind their fears.
Breathtaking, swoony and addictive.
Absolutely loved the Earl of London. Louise Bay is one of the best romance writers out there. Another 5+ star book
Another great book in this series. Darcy is fantastic and I’m glad she found someone strong enough for her. She’s a strong female heroine. She’s independent, passionate about her home, her town and her family. She’s loyal to her family and friends. And truthfully, Logan is not good enough for her. But she is good for him. She humbled him.
Mrs. Steele is great! And Aurora is a great friend. I hope she gets her own story.
Darcy and Logan are perfect for each other. They just don’t know it when they meet. Darcy questions everything about Logan, assuming he’s a rich, entitled, royal who is selfish and doesn’t care about people in the village he moves to. He flies in on his helicopter, unaware how the noise affects Darcy and others. Logan thinks Darcy is uptight and looking for a husband, something he has no intention of being. Luckily, his grandmother sees the truth before Logan does and helps point him in the right direction. A beautiful love story with great characters and strong women!
I think this latest offering by Louise Bay was my favourite of her books. Darcy’s lived most of her life in the country. One of those beautiful English country towns that hasn’t been affected by progress. It still has its old world charm. Darcy loves the lifestyle and the people and doesn’t want anything to change it. Logan is a wealthy city man. He’s got his fair share of issues due to his past, but he adores his Grandmother and when the opportunity arises to give her back her home from years ago, he takes it, and becomes Darcy’s next door neighbour in the process.
He’s not one for relationships. Darcy’s a strong, independent woman who doesn’t need a man to take care of her, but neither can hide the attraction for one another, until it looks like Logan’s trying to muscle in and change her sleepy country town.
There was plenty of emotion in this book. Some hot and sexy times too, and a few moments where I think I forgot to breathe. Loved this.
So I’m running out of things to say about Louise and her books! I mean everything she writes is gold and perfect. And this book was no different. The back and forth between Logan and Darcy was so funny and amusing. Their connection and chemistry was off the charts. But this is also another book that you need to read on your own to get the full effect of it. You need no spoilers! I highly highly recommend this book!!! – By Tina
This is one of those perfect love stories between two perfect characters. They got along so famously, they were both royally gorgeous, and it all seemed to be going full speed ahead until they clash on their plans for the village they lived in. Their lust fest went to a screeching halt and Darcy swore she “would not fall in love with him”.
Logan is an earl who grew in poverty, raised by his grandmother, who sacrificed greatly in order to save him from his father’s clutches. He amassed a huge fortune, all in order to give his grandmother the life she deserved and gave up for him. Apart from this, he’s tall, dark and gorgeous.
Darcy, to my delight, is Ryder’s little sister. Ryder is the current Duke of Fairfax and appears in The Duke of Manhattan book. Darcy lives alone on Woolton Hall, since her brother lives in Connecticut with his American wife and two children. Darcy is deeply entrenched into the village life and traditions and works tirelessly on behalf of the villagers and the town’s welfare.
When they meet, things were looking up until Darcy learns about his plans for his property in Woolton that she believes will ruin the character of their little village. They engage in a battle, she trying to have the village board decline his plans, he trying to convince them that it will bring prosperity to Woolton.
From friends to enemies to lovers, this is an entertaining and delightful story, and made even better when we visit old friends again: Ryder and Scarlett (The Duke of Manhattan), and Alexander and Violet (The Knight of London). Logan’s grandmother was delightful, very blatantly matchmaking Darcy and Logan. There are also delicious glimpses of village life. The story evolved, with the frequent smexy times and the skirmishes while they debated over Logan’s plans. I understood Logan, he wanted to prove his worth by starting a project that would benefit a village, and being involved from start to finish. Darcy felt that living in Woolton saved her from selfish parents and gave her a magical childhood, and she wanted to preserve that same environment for future generations.
It was a great story, great pace, great characters, perfect writing and development.
I absolutely loved Logan and Darcy. When love unexpectedly creeps up on two people who aren’t looking for it always makes for a great story. Darcy was fierce and independent while
Logan was a strong alpha male with the right bit of tenderness. These two were made for each other. From their initial meeting to all the issues they faced, their story will have you eager to be in their world and want more.
This was a sweet sexy angsty beautiful read about Darcy and Logan. Loved their interaction and banter. The push and pull was hilarious and worth the journey they went thru. The twists and turns kept me on the edge of my seat. I couldn’t stop reading until I finished this thrilling sexy heart wrenching story. The sexy times were super hot and so deliciously naughty. Loved this beautiful story and I can’t wait to read more by Louise Bay.
4.5 ‘Count on me’ Stars!
ARC provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.
Louise Bay is the queen of yummy and delicious British heroes. I fell in love with her books a few years ago and since then I can’t stop reading whatever she releases. Well, her newest release is out today and I do have to say, I was so excited about it! Finally, we get Darcy’s story and, oh yes, it was SO worth the wait! Louise keeps killing it with the stories around all these amazing characters she has created and this one was no exception.
So, The Earl of London is, as I said, Louise Bay’s newest release. Yes, it can totally be read as a standalone novel. But also yes, if you have read the previous books around this world, I do believe you will enjoy this even more. Now, this is the love story between Darcy Westbury and Logan Steele. These two have a hilarious and full of chemistry first meeting and they find themselves very much attracted to one another. However, that changes when Darcy discovers that her new neighbor is about to “destroy” her beloved home town. Is Logan as ruthless as he seems to be? Is Darcy ready to fight against the weird and new feelings Logan provokes in her? Will they continue being enemies or will love find its way? Read this wonderful book to find out
She was all fire on the outside and cool breeze on the inside, and I wanted to dive in and experience it all.
I just fell completely in love with this couple. I love a strong-minded heroine and I also love a reluctant-to-love hero. Logan and Darcy are quite different from one another but that does not stop them from having lots of chemistry. I am a fan of enemies to lovers romance and The Earl of Londonwas such a good example! I am also a huge fan of secondary characters. I loved Logan’s grandma, I loved Darcy’s family and friends and I loved seeing characters from the previous books. But, of course, the best part about this novel is the couple. My God, these two are explosive together! And yes, it gets even better when love finds its way. I adored the ending. I love a hero that knows how to sweep the heroine off her feet. Logan and Darcy are simply an amazing couple and I am so happy they found their happiness together!
I’d never felt so connected to someone, so completely in tune with a man. I wanted him. I wanted everything with him.
I couldn’t bear the thought of not loving Darcy Westbury for the rest of my life.
Therefore, my rating for The Earl of London is 4.5 STARS because I just enjoyed how amazingly this love story developed. Full of sexual tension, emotions and super-hot chemistry: who is complaining? Not this girl! Darcy and Logan are perfect together, they have a beautiful relationship and I hopelessly enjoyed the way Louise Bay ended this book. Gah, I love a good happy ending! I do hope we get even more stories about the new characters we met because I simply want more. Highly recommend!
I think this one may be my favorite so far…..even though I probably have said that about every one of the books lol. It was an absolute page turner that I found impossible to put down. I loved Logan & Darcy alot. The chemistry between them was amazing.
This book had me flipping pages until 5 am this morning I could not put it down. My only complaint is with Darcy, she came off as a hypocritical snob, but I stuck with it and not surprisingly it all came full circle. The small town feel and the descriptive English country setting was perfect for a sticky summer read. Louise Bay took me away from the miserable heat and now I’m planning my next vacation. The characters were well developed, and aside from being way too nosy, were charming in their attempts at playing matchmaker with Logan and Darcy. This is by far one of my favorite summer reads this year. In fact I’m going back for a re-read just to be transported back to that charming town feeling and watch Logan and Darcy connect with eachother in a way I wish we all could.
*4.5 Swooning Stars*
I absolutely love Louise’s books and I have been waiting for Darcy’s story for quite a while and she didn’t disappoint me. I think this has become one of my favourites from her.
Louise always manages to deliver a book that completely holds you captive within the first few pages, she gives you characters that you love, females that are strong and independent, and challenge the men at every turn.
The chemistry between Logan and Darcy is red hot from the moment they met. They are so perfect together, total swoon! Logan doesn’t do relationships but he finds himself in one without him even realising with Darcy.
Once you start this book you will be unable to put this book down until you have finished it.
I freaking loved Logan and Darcy!!!! These two stubborn but so strong and kind hearted individuals had chemistry out of this world even though they were completely different. They were alike that they were wealthy and hardworking but that’s where the similarities ended.
These two met in a very funny way and the pull was instant but when she found out who he really was she backed away. But Logan wasn’t having it even though he knew he should stay away from her but there was something about her that kept pulling him. Darcy gave in and omg hotness. Without them realizing they were head over heels. But then Logan was being Logan and things happened.
These two worked out their differences after much suffering and finally realized what was priority in their lives. The epilogue was oh wowwwwww!!! I would love to read a follow up of these two. They were awesome characters and the secondary characters made it very good.
The thing with Louise Bay’s books is that they make you feel all smiley and content and a little hot around the collar if you know what I mean. Darcy and Logan’s story is so wonderfully romantic that it gives you all the sighs in an oh so good way. Darcy is just wonderful I loved her from the very beginning and Logan, well he is the ultimate player until he’s not. This couple compliments each other perfectly although on occasions I wanted to bang their heads together and give Logan a good smack…..men, honestly, they can’t see the woods for the trees sometimes. Watching Darcy and Logan spar with each other and learning how to love is just the most romantic journey. It flows beautifully and in true Louise Bay fashion is well written. I loved the side characters and in particular the WI Ladies. I admit it made me yearn for village life. Romance at its very best. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend The Earl of London.
I had a lot of fun reading this book. There’s no denying that Logan was very much a man who could land a profitable deal just as easily as he could any woman who caught his fancy, but there was a lot more to him than that. Darcy had made up her mind about him after reading one article, but I liked that Logan made her question her original assessment of him not by telling her that he was different from the man profiled in the papers but by showing her who he really was. Neither of them were perfect, and thankfully so because that would have made them far too boring for my taste. Louise Bay did a fab job giving readers multi-layered characters within an uncomplicated story that wasn’t riddled with more angst or drama than necessary. 4.5 stars for The Earl of London.
Louise Bay gives us an utterly fantastic story that gives us this old world type of feel. Darcy is like a total girl crush material. She’s incredibly funny and completely adorable. I loved the male character, Logan, but Darcy stole the show. She’s this sweet and open woman who is just passing out prices of her heart. Logan is similar but a bit more aloof but still approachable. These characters are just plain lovely… including the secondary characters. I love meeting up with characters from the previous books.
I adore that even though Darcy wears her heart on her sleeve, she doesn’t just hand it over. She’s proud and hard-headed. She makes you work for it. I appreciate the strength she shows. These two has this lively dynamic between them. The banter and playfulness warms my heart. They definitely had this push and pull thing happening in the beginning that made me smile and giggle at them. It was like this power struggle when they end up complimenting each other so well. It’s a delightfully light story that has enough charge to it to keep you sighing and laughing! Ms. Bay’s writing is fantastic… I stayed deeply rooted into The Earl of London’s pages. The storyline has this upward flow that steadily kept me into the book.
I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that… my opinions.
