Love left me off its to-do list.I date. I’m all for giving guys a chance. I’ve just never met the one.Until on a spring morning in the English countryside, a tall, dark stranger emerges from the mist. Logan Steele is all tousled hair, hard chest and lips so perfect I want to reach out and touch them just to check they’re real. I’m sure that’s a thunderclap of chemistry I feel between us.Did I … feel between us.
Did I mention he’s an Earl with a self-made fortune?
A billionaire who works tirelessly for charity?
And he’s so hot, watching him is like staring at the sun.
But like I said, love isn’t rooting for me.
When I find out Logan Steele is out to destroy everything I’ve dedicated my life to protect, the chemistry disappears and the hope that had blossomed my chest turns to rage.
It no longer matters that he quickens my pulse just saying my name, weakens my knees with a single touch and that he might just be the greatest kisser that ever lived.
I might believe in love but Logan Steele is definitely not the one.
A standalone romance.

You can never go wrong with a Louise Bay book. I’ve loved every one I’ve read and this is a wonderful series of standalones. Happy Reading!
Definitely another Louise Bay masterpiece! I was so immersed in the story that I kept telling myself just one more chapter, just one more until the very end. Darcy and Logan’s story was one I just couldn’t put down because it was filled with witty banter and combustible chemistry. If you love strong-willed heroines and domineering heroes then you will be captivated by Darcy and Logan!
We finally get Darcy’s story and I loved it. Darcy is a wonderful person who cares about everyone in the small town that she grew up in. When she finds out that the estate next to hers was purchased by the grandson of the woman that used to lived there before someone else bought it, she is curious about who this man is.
Logan Steele is a self made billionaire who is focus on succeeding in the business world and only cares about his grandmother. She sacrificed her home for him when he was a boy so when the opportunity came, he bought the home back for her. Logan doesn’t want to care about anyone else so that there wouldn’t be any disappointments down the road.
When Darcy and Logan met, these 2 strong-willed individuals stand up for what they each believe in. Even when they give in to their attraction, they continue to fight each other on a potential development that Logan wants to build in the small town while Darcy wants to maintain the small community and help the people within the community.
Being in each other’s lives, Darcy and Logan have to rethink about their own beliefs and decide if it makes sense to still maintain them or change for each other.
This might sound silly, but Louise Bay manages to sweep me off my feet with her words. Her books are richly detailed, the characters and dialogue are sexy and fun. There’s so much to love!
In the Earl of London, Logan and Darcy are perfectly matched…until they find themselves on opposing sides of an important issue. Logan is a classic romance hero…outrageously sexy, a bit broody, dominant in all the good ways, and able to bend when needed. Darcy is smart and sassy, beautiful inside and out…and vulnerable when her heart is involved. Man, this story is emotional!
From beginning to end, I was hooked! Ms Bay has created a wonderful world with her Earls and Dukes and Princes, and I can’t wait for more! 5 stars for the Earl and his Lady!
The Earl of London is a wonderful steamy love story set in the United Kingdom between Lady Darcy and an Earl, Logan. This book is a standalone told in dual person POV, but I wholeheartedly encourage you to also read The Duke of Manhattan (Darcy is Ryder’s sister, the Duke in this book, and he marries an American, Scarlett) and The British Knight (Alexander is a barrister from Britain and marries Scarlett’s sister, Violet, also from the US.) The four of them reappear in the Earl of London. I really enjoy books where you see where couples that you have grown to love continue in a story line.
The Earl of London was everything I hoped it would be. Darcy is a heroine I really admire. I loved her secondary character in the previous books and was one of the fans writing to Louise begging her to write about Darcy and she delivered. Darcy was independent, strong willed, loving, loyal, witty, caring, a smart businesswoman, and very devoted to her family heritage and town. She was also very lonely living in the enormous estate because her brother, the Duke, lived in the US with his wife and children, and her parents and grandparents were gone.
Her life makes a complete turn-around when Logan, her strikingly handsome new neighbor, moves in as a weekender and their sexual chemistry is undeniable. They seemed to keep bumping into one another and eventually give in to their mutual attraction. Louise can write some steamy love scenes and their love scenes are explosive.
Logan is quite the domineering man when they are being intimate, but he is also patient, generous, considerate, and respectful. I really liked how he handled his business decisions, especially where Darcy was concerned. It was good to see them compromise as you can see this relationship as something that could last long-term.
They each make the wrong assumptions about one another and she learns he is nothing like she expected. He is someone who never thought he would want to settle down, but was in constant awe of her beauty, ambition, passion, and genuine nature.
His relationship with his grandmother is very sweet and shows what type of man he really is on the inside, and is one of many reasons Darcy falls in love with him. He, too, is a smart businessman and comes to realize what he needs to do to become a better and happier man.
Of course there was some angst in this book, but I routed for them the entire time. Darcy is no pushover and even when she is vulnerable. I admire her strength and belief in her self-worth and how she, too, discovers what it is in life that makes her happy.
While getting to know one another, this couple shares some very emotional and honest parts of their pasts, and they are very tender and supportive of one another. They really care about each other’s feelings and learn to compromise, especially about a personal business deal he is pursuing in their town.
The way the author describes the various scenes in the book makes you feel as if you are there. Being from the US, I really enjoy reading books set in other countries and this book makes you feel you are on the English countryside living in a quaint village where you know all the townspeople. I want to visit there and have tea with Darcy and Logan! Must read if you love romance!
I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of The Earl Of London by Louise Bay, which is no surprise as she is most definitely one of my most favorite authors. She never fails to deliver the goods and this book was no exception. It’s a warm, sexy tale of loyalty and friendship.
We met Darcy in The Duke Of Manhattan, she’s Ryder’s sister and now she’s got her own story to tell. Her man is Logan Steele, a self-made man and none other than a displaced Earl. He’s also an entrepreneur and knows what he wants in life, and that’s not a relationship of any kind. He likes to ‘hit it and quit it’, quite frankly. He had some rough edges to him and fought for everything he wanted and I really liked that about him. His confident, demanding side was hot as sin but Darcy made him step out of himself and see life in a different light.
She didn’t give a fig that he had a title, it’s not what made her fall for him but fall she did.
Who could resist such a confident, sexy charmer like Logan, a man who knows his own mind until he sets eyes on Darcy during their first memorable meeting. Darcy’s a strong woman with a soft side, she likes her life the way it is, safe, comfortable and never changing. Well, except for not having a man to share it with.
But Logan might not be quite what she’s looking for. He’s got plans for his land and they don’t sit well with Darcy. They lock horns but who will emerge the winner?
Well. that’s for me to know and you to find out. Grab this gem today and you’ll soon be laughing, crying and swooning over the Earl of London, just as I did.
This was the book I have been waiting for and Louise Bay did not disappoint in the story that gives Darcy the HEA she really deserves. Darcy and Logan’s story was read in one sitting I was captivated by the banter, the chemistry and just the right amount of tension as we are taken on a romantic journey as Darcy and Logan get to know each other.
Darcy is the woman everyone turns to in the village of Woolton she not only has the upkeep of her family property she is also expected to be the word of reason when it comes to making sure the village is kept intact without buildings spoiling the ambience. Woolton is her home and it always will be but now Logan is spending his weekends with his grandmother who just happens to be Darcy’s neighbor are things about to heat up in the quite village ……
Logan a strong alpha male who knows what he wants and he normally gets it but he has never met anyone quite like Darcy and she has now taken over his life he can’t get enough of his grandmothers sexy next door neighbor will the woman who doesn’t take any of his nonsense be the woman to finally tame him……..
I loved these characters so much two strong independent people who needed to realise that loving someone is not a weakness if you are with the right person together you become stronger. Once again this author has given us everything you could want from a great read characters with chemistry, family loyalty, I loved how Darcy and Logan pushed each other’s buttons I loved the banter between them and I loved catching up with Ryder, Scarlett and Violet. This book can be read as a stand-alone but I’m sure if this is your first book by this author you will want to read her other books.
5 star Review The Earl of London by Louise Bay
Logan Steele, just the name sent shivers up and down my spine; I have been waiting for Darcy Westbury’s story and couldn’t wait to dive in.
Where do I start? From chapter one I was hooked. Logan Steele is a rich, powerful, determined man; he gets what and who he wants, when he wants. When he buys as estate in a little village, Darcy becomes his neighbour and the sparks fly from there.
Both Darcy and Logan are independent and strong characters and I found them likeable and easy to relate to. Well to be honest, I have loved Darcy ever since she was first introduced way back, there was just something about the pairing of Logan and Darcy that drew me to them and their story.
The story was well written, engaging and it was great to see the dynamic between the two of them and there was so much to love about Ms.Bay’s characters. The chemistry between Logan and Darcy is off the charts even though neither want to admit to it.
Darcy makes me laugh, there is just so much humour in her and some of the best moments throughout the book are when she calls Logan on his attitude and behaviour. For these two to make a success as a couple there was plenty of give and take required from both Logan and Darcy as neither were “perfect”.
Ms.Bay wove a story that had me invested right from the start.
“I knew who I was and what I was capable of. I understood that however amazing tonight had been, this was where it ended. Because it was all I had to give.”
The Earl of London by Louise Bay is a sexy ‘enemies-to-lovers’ standalone romance that had me intrigued from the very beginning! This steamy love story was impossible to put down and I knew, from the very beginning, that I was going to devour Darcy and Logan’s story in one sitting. I loved the whole antagonistic vibe between the two main characters. I enjoyed the push/pull dynamic that kept the story fresh and exciting. The banter, the chemistry, the tension…it was all just SO GOOD!
I always love diving into a Louise Bay romance! They are always such sweet, sexy, and romantic page-turners! They make you feel good. They make you feel light. They bring me to my happy place. Not too much angst, but enough to keep you captivated and invested, The Earl of London is a romance read you won’t want to miss. Whether you’ve read Louise Bay already or not, this book has something for every romance reader out there. It will make you laugh, smile, scream, shout, and blush! If you’re looking for a sweet and spicy romance that will keep you hooked the whole way through, be sure to pick up Darcy and Logan’s story ASAP! You won’t be disappointed!
Audiobook review from November 2019
Oh my!! This one was a heart sting tugger!!
The last of the Royals books, the last of the King/Westbury clans.
We maybe need a book about Aurora though to finish it all out lol
This story was lovely! And when Logan did the typical I’m a dumba$$ move I was yelling at him lol
His grandmother set him to rights though.
I loved her character! So full of life and spunk!
And the epilogue was WONDERFUL!! Ahhh!!!
Shane East is improving his craft, I love following narrators and hearing them improve as they become requested more and more.
This was my first Imogen Church book and her guy voice needs some work but she has a lovely rasp to her “Normal” character speaking voice. I would definitely listen to a book with her again!
Darcy and Logan are perfect together even though they seem to be such opposites. This story was so sweet with lots of love and loyalty for family. I loved Logan’s grandmother.
The big city mogul and the country village beauty are definitely not a match made in heaven. Add to that his plans for developing part of his property that will definitely put them at odds. Darcy Westbury and Logan Steele’s relationship has a very rocky beginning. They’ve both made assumptions about one another without getting to know the other. But the more time they spend with one another, the more their feelings grow.
While this series isn’t up there with my favorites (which are much better than this one in my opinion), I was entertained by all but the first book, which I couldn’t finish.
I’m still not impressed by the characters being quick to make assumptions and even quicker to be judgmental.
Not a big fan of pushy detestable men who think their money and looks allow them to do what they want and literally kidnap someone nor women who succumb to that behavior. This was not for me. Much preferred “The British Knight “. Wish I’d stopped there.
These books are addictive and easily gobbled up. I read this as an audible book, and I found the female narrator to be a bit breathy for my taste. It didn’t effect my rating however. Such a lovely book.
Darcy deserves a perfect romance and Louise gives her just that. Logan is scared of commitment. After living with a father who made promises and then let their family down, he doesn’t want to do the same… even if it means losing the one woman who shows him how to enjoy life.
I loved the English small town feel. Louise did a fantastic job. I felt like I was a part of their little gossiping about the Earl who flies helicopters around. The ending was perfect, and I loved the real world advice she gives at the end – you can’t tell what the future holds for a relationship, just go for it.
Lily S. Thomas – Author of the Ice Age Alphas series and Galactic Courtship series
How do you separate a narrator who you feel kills the character from the actual story…you have to reread it. Since I don’t have the time, here are my thoughts.
You MUST read this, not listen to it. Even if Shane East is the reason you are listening. Shane saves the day but Darcy’s narrator makes it painful.
The Earl of London is an opposites attract, opposing sides romance. Strong willed and strong minded Darcy gives Logan a fight he never saw coming.
Finally we get Darcy’s story. I was excited to indulge myself with this story. Logan Steele invades Darcy’s life and it turns upside down. Their connection is fast, and all consuming but Logan’s inability to commit may break them. Their journey is not perfect but their destination is perfect. I enjoyed this story.
Wonderful, breathtaking, sexy hot read. The chemistry between Logan and Darcy was off the charts. I devoured every page of The Earl Of London.
4.5 Stars
I know that when I pick up a book by Louise Bay, it would be good and this was no exception. The story takes place mostly in a little sleepy village in England. Logan is a rich businessman who buys the family estate back for his grandmother. It just happens to be next door to Darcy’s family estate. Darcy is determined to keep the village as is while Logan wants to bring it into the modern age. The story is sweet and sexy, I love how unassuming Darcy is. The chemistry between her and Logan is captivating. A very enjoyable story.
I love each of her books!! I swear this one was even better. I can never pick a favorite is so impossible that’s how good they all are!! Definitely recommend this book!
