The Dukes Cautious Governess:
Agnes Hubbard never knew her mother and she just lost her father. Her fathers family who she thought loved and cherished her like her father always had, turned on her told her because her mother was a terrible person they could never accept her or help her. Agnes was turned away from her family. Her fathers family took e everything from her her father is a duke or was a duke. So Agnes had fallen from being an heiress to become the governess to the Duke of Portmouth’s little sister Georgia who is four years old and who also lost her mother. This is the Very Basic Beginning…I loved this story…..great characters wonderfully written engaging suspenseful romantic mystery you just cannot put down. And that is only the first

*I received a complimentary ARC of this book in order to read and provide a voluntary, unbiased and honest review, should I choose to do so.
Agnes Hubbard, daughter of the Earl of Kent, is penniless after her father’s death. She went to a school specializing in Governess Training and is now late for her first job. What will happen next?
The Duke of Portsmouth parents’ have died and he needs help to raise his little sister. He’s a young man, lax in rules, and his sister is a wild and unmannered four-year old. Will Agnes be able to help them?
I Highly Recommend this new slant on an old story where the penniless daughter must work. How will this ending be different and what family secret could destroy everything? Read this charming story and find out.
Fanny Finch’s The Duke’s Cautious Governess is indeed the promised clean and sweet Regency Romance, but that’s misleading as it’s also a very complex novel with a cast of characters who are finely crafted in terms of their backgrounds, how such backgrounds influence their present selves, and their relationships between each other and the rest of the world. Agnes Hubbard and Victor, Duke of Portsmouth may both have been orphaned at too early a point even if they were (young) adults, and Victor’s sister Georgia became an orphan as a child. It’s no wonder this impacts them. How they do deal with all of this, and how they grow in general and in their relationship with each other makes for a wonderful story when handled by someone talented, and this author is very talented indeed. But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises – the book definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that the book is most definitely one to read, and it is easy to highly recommend.
