A CROSS BETWEEN CINDERELLA & THE PRINCE AND THE PAUPER
THE DUKE’S BRIDE IN DISGUISE is the first book in the Fairfax Twins series. The storylines for books one and two are played simultaneously, so can be read in either order.
A cross between Cinderella and the Prince and the Pauper, this is a sweet romance of twins who have been separated at birth and reunited by chance. I really enjoyed it.
While I had to suspend belief in a lot of aspects, this is fiction and I accept that for the feel-goods. I already have the second audiobook in this series and will start listening right away.
Narration: Duke Defoix, Duchess DeFoix are fun to listen as they play the Regency character voices.
Note: While I received this book as a gifted audiobook copy via Audiobooks Unleashed, my opinions are my own and are given freely.

Likable characters. Some things were rather far fetched and some things were underdeveloped. But it was enjoyable and funny. I was pleasantly surprised by the way the mystery turned out. Not how I thought.
Fun read. I kept waking up in the middle of the night and reading. A little predictable but thats part of the fun.
I enjoyed reading how twins separated at birth meet years later and changed places. It was really sweet to see the twin from poverty placed with the rich and how her wholesome characteristics brought her to love.
Twins that each other didn’t know existed. Loved this book. Couldn’t put it down.
Kept my interest! Liked the main characters
I found myself laughing out loud at parts of this book. I love the humor, the darkness (yes there is a dark element) and how the author brings it all together in the end. I may even read the 2nd in the series…

Imagine his surprise when overnight, his betrothed goes from meek and compliant to outspoken, alluring and decidedly unimpressed with him. – Though somewhat unbelievable, this is a good story. I liked Ava’s openness and sassy personality. Raff was instantly attracted to her, and his pursuit of her was entertaining. The mystery surrounding her birth was intriguing. This is a good read.
A wonderful light read. Twin orphaned at birth find each other in early as early adults. One raised in wealth one in an orphanage and poor. They exchanged places for a month. Delightful how things turn out
3.5 stars for the more original storyline for it’s ilk. A quick, fun read.
I really enjoyed this book (M& B) social interest.
Engaged to a Duke
Identical twins separated at birth, Ava Smith grew up in The Asylum For Orphan Girls In Lambeth and Lady Emily grew up in a family of wealth and privilege. Meeting by chance in a bookstore, Lady Emily convinces Ava to switch places for a month. Lady Emily will take Ava’s position as a governess and Ava will discourage Lady Emily’s fiance from their marriage. Only Ave didn’t expect to fall in love. The Duke of Kilbride is persistent, he’s in love with Ava. What chance will they have when he finds out the truth? The interaction between Ava and the maid are so funny. Kilbride and Ava’s interactions are so sweet. A clean romance with a lot of charm.
A great read though stretching it a bit to believe Ava could actually pull off the deception and that in the end the ton would just accept her.
Nevertheless, it was very entertaining and I am off to purchase The Duke’s Governess in Disguise.
