Miss Katherine Ross is a wealthy, eccentric socialite who knows precisely what she wants: No husband. No children. No candlelit tête-à-tête with the insufferably emotionless Duke of Ravenwood. She’s convinced his heart is ice — until she touches that chiseled chest for herself. One lapse in judgment is all it takes to turn both their lives topsy-turvy…
The Duke of Ravenwood isn’t cold and … cold and haughty, but a secret romantic who has always dreamt of marrying for love. Instead, he gets Miss Katherine Ross — a headstrong hoyden intent on unraveling his carefully ordered world. He doesn’t know whether to kiss her or throttle her. Can they survive each other’s company long enough to turn a compromise into love?

Complete Dukes of War book 7
This is a first read for me by this author. I thought this story was just okay. I wished it had more.
I loved this beautiful romance about the risks of love.
The impeccable Duke of Ravenwood is the very definition of a good man, through and through. That’s why he refuses to have anything to do with the beautiful yet unpredictable and nearly scandalous Katherine Ross, and it’s also why he finds himself proposing marriage to her when he accidentally selects the wrong room for a secluded moment of peace. Kate has seen too much of the cost of love and family, and she wants nothing to do with it. Finding herself engaged to the Frost King himself might well be the worst imaginable situation ever.
How these two move past their surface differences to address the deep-seated emotional issues they have makes for a wondrously beautiful, thought-provoking love story that kept me enthralled right from the start. There’s just enough wit and humor to keep the story from being too heavy while it deals with its serious issues head-on. Their HEA is absolutely breathtaking, after all they’ve gone through to achieve it. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Boring and needs more editing. It’s a sweet story and has some charms, but needs more work
Same old, same old. Hot loins, old story, repetitive narrative.
