Enjoyed it very much. Thanks
Good story
I thoroughly enjoyed the bumpy ride this story took me on, starting with an embarrassing misunderstanding. The characters were enjoyable and steaming hot together as their relationship progressed. The story had a mystery to be solved with elements of a who-done-it, surprising twists and turns, and a heroine who wanted to be a detective in the thick of the action. I enjoyed this read very much.
Too much unnecessary and in bad taste sex
Emma Kent is an intelligent, strong-willed character. The Duke of Strathaven needs a bride. The author, Grace Callaway developed unique, interesting characters and a good mystery. I gave it 3 stars because some of the sexual scenes were more explicit than I prefer. If you like the ‘steam’ this is a great book for you.
I still don’t quite match the title with the story (sorry), but I loved the story! Steamy, engaging, and thrilling. The hero has a past that has shaped his future, but the author does an excellent of job of showing his strengths because of it–even in his doubts. The heroine is an excellent match for him and I love, love, love that their romance is D/s based. Again, the author shows how important trust and love truly are, along with strong and determined characters, to have a successful relationship such as theirs. Thank you for giving me such an enjoyable ride. (and I’m gobbling up the next one in the series as I write this)
I appreciated the heroine’s commitment to being honest and owning up to her mistakes.
Very steamy
A little to much kink for me…not into spanking and master-slave stuff.
I love a good Regency Romance. Witty repartee, reluctant Dukes, feisty heroines! But soft porn and vulgar words just don’t cut it. And I am no prude, by any means, put this should be advertised as soft porn.
This book was more than steamy. Too many of the scenes were erotica with BDSM tendencies. It’s too bad there’s not a more explicit spoiler. I don’t mind steamy scenes between consenting adults, but that’s not what was happening here. Alaric and his need to dominate kidnaps Emma and takes her to witness erotic sex at a bawdy house. Here innocence was definitely shattered at that experience.
It’s really too bad there was so much sex in the book because the mystery with layer upon layer of events was really good. The final twist I didn’t see coming and rose the book’s ranking from a 2 to a 3. I don’t think I’ll be reading anymore of this author’s books that deal with this level of sexual activity.
Strong female character. Great mystery. Caution this story is steamy.
Although I was impressed with the book as a romance suspense novel, I could not equate it to a historical romance because it had no elements of history, other than the time period for which it was written. It did however, have elements of the old Barbra Cartland novels in it
. For example, just when one thinks the culprit has been caught, a new suspect enters the picture. I liked the steamy sex scenes, however, since this was supposed to be a historical romance, the language was far too modern and therefore, in my opinion, can not really qualify as a historical romance. Despite it being a well written story, I couldn’t give it 5 stars because the elements, ( i.e. language, lack of any historical back story) do not set it apart from a contemporary romance. I would like to see these elements brought together in future stories. Then I would be more than happy to give a 5 star review because she is a very good writer.
I enjoyed reading this Book. I truly mind reading Exotic, steamy, BDSM, Extremely Sexual Scenes in any Book.
Emma’s character was Absolutely Wonderful & refreshing. She is a Strong willed woman who knows what she wants & doesn’t hesitate to do what she feels is necessary especially for her Family.
A female detective isn’t what anyone suspects & she was able to retrieve information her Brother & his partner weren’t able to.
Alaric’s Character was just as Wonderful. He is a Strong Virile Man who has been Physically & Mentally Abused by his Father, step-mother, Cousin/guardians the Duke of Strathmore & his wife who passed away. He trusts no one until Emma pops into his life & turns his life upside down in a bad & good way.
What a great story. Well developed characters and a surprising ending. Just enough of everything for me.
The female lead is smart and strong. The story is suspenseful with an interesting twist. The writing is entertaining and witty. Warning, there are alot of sex scenes.
Steamy book. A bit different than this authors usual.
Steamy!
I thoroughly enjoyed story and characters.
Good story,fun to read.
