It all begins with one hot night in Paris… the McGovern cousins on a grand tour. First stop, Paris.
Lord Marshall Stone, the brand-new Duke of Reith, has fled to Paris to visit his disgraced brother and to drown his grief over his father’s death in parties and female company. His reputation is going downhill fast, and he has no wish to save it. He even goes so far as to seduce who he thinks is the pretty companion of one of his friend. Except, the woman he seduces turns out to be his friend’s cousin and a noblewoman in her own right. One he can’t stop thinking about or wanting.
To make matters worse, a mysterious figure begins sending threats that could destroy both Marshall and Dorothy and put the entire McGovern family in danger. The unlikely lovers must work together to figure out who is blackmailing them and to save the entire family from social ruin.
TALES FROM THE GRAND TOUR is a steamy, light-hearted Victorian series, set in the 1890s, that follows the wild, unconventional, often scandalous McGovern cousins as they make their way through Europe and beyond.

LAST CHANCE FOR PARIS

Merry Farmer knows how to write a romance, and this one is no different. A fun and steamy read!
I only need to see Merry’s name to know I’ll love it, and this is no different. The characters are dynamic and the superbly told. I highly recommend!
I love scandalous historical romances and this one does not disappoint!
An enchanting romance with just the right amount of spice and an intriguing mystery element to keep things moving along. And it’s set in Paris!! Thoroughly enjoyable.
Another great read from Merry Farmer
A wonderful story combining a mystery, an adventure, and two fabulous meant-for-each other characters.
What is the spiciest thing in Paris besides Dorothy and Marshall? Nothing!
Love is blossoming and intrigue is looming on the horizon. But there are enough McGovern’s to figure it out and bring down the villain!
Did I mention that the good guys are all gorgeous
Such a mix of characters and delightful storyline. I loved the situations that went on and how each character reacted, and the humorous games the cousins played at the picnic. with a bitter chaperone, to mysterious goings on. Yes it does have steam
This is a wonderful start of a new series. I couldn’t put the book down until the last page was turned, and that’s saying a lot! Definitely a must read!
Paris Spring 1890
Ah, the wonder of Paris when the Eiffel tower was built, the Louvre and of course Notre Dame combined with the McGovern family taking a grand tour with a plethora of relatives! Included was Miss Dorothy McGovern and her brother, who were almost out of funds so she was looking to marry. But an unexpected meeting with Marshall, Lord Reith would notch up the romance!
Unfortunately having just come into his title and mourning his father, Marshall wanted to only drown his sorrows in drink and as many women as he could. Oh yes….
But when he sets eyes on Dorothy and she on him, he hones in to conquer, thinking she is a ladies maid! Seduction is always on his mind and before you know it they are alone.
I loved this story! Mary Farmer always entertains and with this fast paced story of mistaken identity, scorching attraction and scandalous seduction, I could only sigh as I turned the last page!
I cannot wait for the rest of this series!!
Good
Marshall is recovering from his father’s death by living a life of debauchery. He meets Dorothy and thinking she is a companion or some such, he sets out to seduce her and he does. Afterward he feels awful because she was a virgin and a cousin of his friend. Someone takes pictures of their encounter. He realizes He wants to marry her but she will not agree. When they believe they see the blackmailer they go on a mission that takes them through an unsavory part of Paris and through the Moulin Rouge and a side trip to the Eiffel Tower. Such an enchanting story. I received a complimentary copy and I am voluntarily reviewing.
Paris is so full of adventures both good and so bad ones!
Set in Paris when the Eiffel Tower was just completed Lord Reith Marshall Stone is determined to have a great time being a total rake. On the other hand, his brother Lord Gregory has spied someone he is rather interested in. Expect the unexpected in this tale as there are some interesting twists. The cast of characters are also very interesting too! There is just one thing you will find that perhaps there will be more than one romance in the offering. This was a very entertaining piece. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
As children of the youngest son of a duke, the Honorable Miss Dorothy McGovern and her brother Damien are part of a large and well-connected, if notorious, aristocratic family. But thanks to their father’s bad investments of his already small inheritance, they barely have two shillings to rub together. Dorothy knows it’s up to her to marry well in order to save herself and her brother and they both hope opportunity will arise when they join their McGovern cousins on a Grand Tour of Europe, beginning in Paris.
Lord Marshall Stone, now the Duke of Reith, is in Paris visiting his disgraced brother, Sebastian, and drowning his grief for his father in booze and women. He has no care for his rapidly disintegrating reputation and even sets out to seduce a lady’s companion in the employ of his friend, Asher, the Duke of Addlebury. Only, it turns out the lovely lady is actually his friend’s cousin and soon Marshall can’t get her out of his head. Even worse, Marshall and Dorothy begin receiving blackmail threats that are a danger to the reputation and standing of both families and they must work together to find out who is behind the awful, incriminating photos.
This was a fun, quick romp. Marshall may have conducted himself rather appallingly at first, but he did improve and did some first rate groveling to Dorothy. These two had a lovely, immediate connection that made for a great read and I look forward to the continuation of this series.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Great start to this series. The Duke’s case of mistaken identity is his wake-up call. Absolutely love Dorothy, she is so independent and matter of factually straight forward. She rattles the Duke so much that I think he is missing a few clues regarding the mystery, which isn’t resolved but it’s (thankfully) written so smoothly that it’s not an abrupt cliffhanger. The Duke romancing Dorothy and her elusiveness yet teasing behavior intrigues him. I think they are a perfect match and enjoyed their sweet and steamy story and was mesmerized from start to finish, although I didn’t want it to end. I was provided a free copy without any obligation and am voluntarily reviewing.

My review :
When a mourning duke and a impoverished miss lash out their passion, there will be hell to pay …
This first installment made me think of the When The Wallflowers Were Wicked series, no shy misses, willing heroes to be seduced and a mystery to solve even if this one is in some way an extension from The Earl’s Scandalous Bargain. It is a short fun read with steamy moments.
Marshall is drowning his sorrows in all the excesses easily to men of some means until he got caught playing with the wrong woman.
Dorothy knows she is the one on which shoulders rests their hope for a better future but never would she lures a man to get married, so when seduced by a duke, she is unsure to agree to his proposal.
Then when danger is lurking to expose their beginning relationship as something more sordid, it is up to them to decide what they really want.
If you love an entertaining sensual quick read, you are in with this one.
4.5 stars
I was granted an advance copy by the author and I preordered my own. Here is my true and unbiased opinion.

This story contains a mystery that will be continued in the next two books but it does not detract from the love story in this book. Normally I am not an insta-love person but in this story it works. Mistaken identity, seduction, blackmail are all a part of this story. The love that Marshall has for his family is such a pleasure to read. Also, Dorothy’s love and acceptance of her brother was so nice to read. Ms. Farmer writes such great stories that short or long, they are always a delight to read.
I received a complimentary copy from the author.
